It is extremely rare though.. I lived in Boca Raton Florida for most of my life until 4 years ago.. I have friends in Orlando and I refused to visit them any time past Halloween Horror Nights!!lol. And during the Halloween parties I was always in sweaters and pants.

I didn't believe the weather man, so I packed jeans and pants. Only 1 pair of shorts, I did laundry.

We will be there after a cruise..so I'll have both. But I'm probably going to ship our "winter attire" to the contemporary ahead of time...don't have the luggage space!

bing says the walk is a half mile from the outside of MK to the lobby. should be ok. I'll be testing it in 17 days

Thank you, you were both very helpful! And if I can only hear Chef Mickey's when I'm not in my room, then I'm not too worried about it, ha-ha.

I'm an early riser and have heard CM from a Tower room near/above CM. I usually request to be "away from CM," but this was a time when our request couldn't be met.

They start setting the tables early and clean-up pretty late. And, about every 45 minutes to an hour, they play the "Celebrate Mickey Mouse" song. However, it's been reported that the sound level has been turned down. Running the HVAC fan 24/7 does help and you can also request a fan from mousekeeping.

I'll log your dates and nice work getting the elusive Deluxe room. The posters are a bargain and the retro artwork is so fun, but I found them on Main Street. I framed some of them:

we just booked our daughter's first birthday trip 11/12 -11/18 atrium club level theme park view. This will be our first full stay at the CR. we've done a couple days here and there but are looking forward to really experiencing the resort.

I've heard that the Contemporary is the only Deluxe without resort specific merchandise. But the date was some time ago. Is this still the case?

We are staying at the Contemporary for the first time this summer (eeek!!! ). I have heard about the 4th floor observation deck for viewing Wishes Fireworks. Can we see fireworks from here or is this the spot only for people who are at California Grill restaurant? TIA

The California Grill is on the 15th floor. I've read that people used to be able to go up there without a reservation, watch the fireworks, then leave, but I've also heard they've put a stop to that. There's viewing on the fourth floor, the walkway between the Tower and Bay Tower, plus on every level of the stairway facing the Magic Kingdom. -- The internet, and especially YouTube, can be very helpful.

to the DIS and the CR/BLT thread, @Kristoff Bjorgman! I have photos in the SHOPPING chapter HERE of some of the resort specific merchandise. It's not a lot, but certainly a lot more than they used to have.

ETA: Still no clothing, except for hats.

I am going to pipe in and say it sounded like a dance club outside our door from early until later at night (especially on Saturdays). With that said, it didn't keep us up at night - we were just too tired.

Thanks for posting about your very recent experience. It seems my comment about them possibly turning down the volume since the last time we stayed there wasn't accurate. Or at least it wasn't turned down enough to make it much better for those staying above.

If anyone who's booked the Tower would like to lessen the chances of hearing CM, just have a request added to your reservation: "Away from Chef Mickey's" or "North end near BLT."

This would be a great price for just one of the posters. Hoping they will still be available when we go, but that's probably not practical.

We are staying at the Contemporary for the first time this Christmas! It is our first time at a deluxe! We are also staying club level, that we booked at a bounce back rate. So I hate to ask a dumb question but if my reservation says, standard room- club level. Theme park view requested, not guaranteed, does that mean I am staying atrium club level or tower club level? Should I have received an email telling me? Or does it come at 180 days?
