We are now PIF for August!!

Kook...can you add our dates to the list, please? We'll be staying TPV, Atrium CL 8/12-8/14 then switching over to the Poly for the rest of our trip. Hoping our DD's like CR as much as DH & I do...cannot wait for our stay!

Hi All - I'm flip flopping between resort choices and making myself crazy. I'm going during memorial day weekend and going to the 24 hour event with breaks at my hotel during the day for DD3. I want to stay at a MK resort to minimize travel time.

I have been booked at WL and now at Poly but (like everyone else) the construction makes me nervous. The Garden Wing is comparable in price to the Poly and I do like that you can walk to CR. Pushing a stroller, would you say the Garden Wing is far from MK?

Jump on that Garden wing room! We will also be there then, checking in on Sunday (my daughter graduates on Saturday). I have jumped all around this trip, from the Swan to the Beach Club (she did't want BC wanted thePolynesian). Booked Polynesian and then Steve (Tikiman) visited and came back saying it was still a mess. Then, the pool was to be finished (Yay) but the quiet pool construction would begin (Boo). I told my husband on Thursday that I had us switched to the Poly and he was like "whoa, do you not remember what a mess it was in November?" So I messaged my poor overworked TA and had her move us to the CR (TPV). More $$$ but the walk is great, 15 minutes tops to the turnstiles. We used to always stay in the old North wing (where BLT is now) when our girls were little and it was great, you could take the kids out onto the grass to run around and let off steam. We would get a first floor room with a slider and patio, it was perfect.

We stayed GW in October and had a stroller and the walk to MK was maybe 15 minutes? It was an amazing benefit, especially with 2 little ones, to come and go as we pleased and not have to deal with any transportation at the end if the night! The furthest point of the GW is less than a 5 minute walk to the tower so it doesn't feel "disconnected" at all. We loved it, and will definitely stay here again, especially on a trip where we need frequent access to MK!

This was our view from 14th floor MK view (tower club).

I wish I was there right now myself, me and my girl won't be at the Tower Club Suite till later this year in October. LOL. Was it an upgrade or did you simply booked it? How's the Concierge treating you and your Family? Any tips you can possibly give someone like me who'll be staying at the Theme Park View Tower Club Suite in the near future?

Thanks for the feedback! I just booked the room through orbitz. Reached out to see if there are any magical deals for that weekend too.

That was a phenomenal upgrade. I had booked Atrium Club with a great discount ($250 a night). Was expecting to see one person greeting us when we pulled to the front. We had three! that's when they asked us if we'd be okay with that room instead as the 14th floor had not been renovated at that time. it was a one bedroom with two queens and then this huge living area with sofa sleeper, chairs, dining table for like 8 people and a kitchen along with another full bath with walk in shower and a foyer area. There were three huge balconies too. It really spoiled our girls, who were like 13 & 15 then.

Just booked our stay at the BLT 2 bedroom villa standard view for Jan 6-10. Marathon weekend. We have 4 adults (two are runners) in our group and a toddler. We went standard view to help us on cost to allow us to bump up to a villa. Now the countdown to buying our tickets, booking our meals, etc begins!!

Long time, no see, Kook and Mousemommy1 ! :sunny:
Just wanted to pop in and say that we've booked a 1 bedrm SUITE on my Favorite concierge floor at WDW, May30-june7!
Taking middle niece for her HS graduation and also celebrating my DS' birthday! :cake:

Noticed that ya'll do not have any updated 1bedrm suite pictures and I would be more than happy, Kook, to provide you with some. Unless I have missed them somewhere.

Looks like you both are heading there soon, wish I could join, but I just had a hip replacement 3 weeks ago! Darnit!
Looking forward to hanging out here. :flower1:

I hear you on being spoiled! Have stayed many times on 14th Tower before the Rehab and they are famous for upgrades. Last time, the 4 of us, me and mom plus my girlfriend and her daughter, were upgraded to the presidential suite!
Good grief! That place is huge!:cloud9:

And don't get me wrong, while I do adore the RPC and rate the WL cl up there as the best cl's, the 14th floor Tower club ranks the finest in service. Hands down. :flower3:

They were so incredibly sweet up there, plus back then they would come and stock your fridge from the lounge for you too. No need to run down formatter or a soda, there was always something in the fridge. Haven't stayed CL at WDW lately, it's too cost prohibitive now that we have a teen old enough to classify as an extra adult

Sorry if this is a question that has been answered multiple times. What in your experience is the approximate walk time from BLT over the the Magic Kingdom or back? We are all pretty fit and our kiddo will be in a stroller (I know to add 100+ minutes if she decides she wants to walk too :))

Also do you walk right up to the main gate or are you walking to the TTC?

Add another 100+ minutes if your toddler wants to stop and watch every monorail that glides by (even from the stroller) like mine did. LOL!!!

So cool to see though, and a really pleasant walk with sneak peeks of MK!!

Hi KOOK .....hope things are going well with you :flower3:. Your trip is getting close :yay:.

I'm ahead on packing (mostly due to my excitement:hyper:), and I'm getting very excited about our CR stay next week! I'm also looking forward to updating the thread with current photos. Are you and the boys going away for spring break?

Woohoo!! We just switched from the Poly to Contemporary Garden Wing for August 18 - 27th!!! I'm so excited!! It will be our first stay here, and we are looking forward to it!!
Congratulations on the ol' resort switcheroo. I'll add your dates to the Log-orail:)

So we just moved from the cR to AKV for the second half of our stay. We loved the contemporary! It's everything I thought it would be!!! Can't wait to stay there again. And they upgraded us to club level which I didn't know until we checked in :)
I know I'm late with this, but how exciting that you were upgraded and I'm glad you loved CR as much as we do. How many nights did you stay at CR?

Finally gave in to my fears (along with my husband's) that the Polynesian will still be a shambles in late May. Changed to Tower theme park view, I know what to expect there!

KOOK, please add us to the list, May 24-28 TPV :)
I think you made a very smart move, especially since Poly isn't even reducing their rates during the shambles. You're going to love walking to the MK…I'll add your dates.

Just made the call and our reservation is now PIF!!!

41 days until we check in to the CR!

I haven't even returned to work yet from maternity leave (I return on 3/23) but I'm already ready for vacation!! :)
PIF Dancing Guy for you…:dancer:

We're here now at BLT waiting to be texted our room number. Loved POR last night. Any recommendations for where I should report an awesome resort CM? We have already encountered a fabulous one at BLT and I want to let someone know.
I'm probably way too late with this, but when you're still onsite, you can go to the front desk and ask for a manager and tell them about the awesome CM. For BLT, I would probably go to CR. I've also written down positive comments about CMs and given them to the manager.

I'm going to be booking at CR in the very near future, but can't decide whether the price for a theme park view is worth it. Can you see the fireworks from somewhere else on the resort (not including from a restaurant)? What are your thoughts on the 3 views?
We also LOVE the BLV and always book it. Its peaceful and no parking lot:). If you stay CL, you can see Wishes from there or from the 4th floor Observation Deck:

THE WISHES NIGHTLY MAGIC KINGDOM FIREWORKS last about 12 minutes. Preferred CR/BLT viewing locations:

~Magic Kingdom/Theme Park View Tower rooms/balconies.

~Club Level balcony/lounge

~BLT Magic Kingdom/Theme Park View rooms/balconies and some Bay Lake View rooms on the north side.

~The beach (with obstructions).

~California Grill restaurant and observation deck (exclusively for guests with same-day reservations only).

~Fourth floor observation deck:

Welcome back!

What a fantastic graduation gift and birthday venue. You know you love the Tower Club so that makes the anticipation even greater. Your photos would be much appreciated - thank you!

Not too late - we are still here! Thanks so much for the suggestion. I was hoping there would be a way to tell someone face to face while we were still here. We have actually encountered several fabulous CMs so far on this trip, but the one from our first day here at BLT was just amazing.

The managers really appreciate feedback from guests, (yes, positive and negative) and one would be more than happy to speak with you. You can usually most easily find one in the lobby, especially at CR or you can just ask to speak to a Guest Services manager about a BLT CM at the front desk. It's helpful if you can name the CM, the date and how they went above and beyond.

It's really nice that you want to take time out of your vacation to thank a CM and it always makes me feel good to be able to do that when the opportunity arises. I also use the email address that dansdad posted to write an email when I return home. My email is always acknowledged and appreciated and they do share guest comments at weekly meetings with the CMs.

I hope you're having a magical stay!

I totally get being ahead of schedule on packing due to the excitement....LOL. I'm sure you will have a great time! I can't wait to hear about your trip and see all of your great pics when you return :goodvibes.

No plans here to go away right now as we have been so busy with so much else going on. With that said, we are tentatively booked at the Poly in December under one of those special TA deals, so that's exciting :).

Not too late - we are still here!

Hope you're having a great time :wizard:.

Does anyone know what time movies on the beach start in April?

Any guess as to when they post April activity schedule also?

They will probably start at 8. The movie schedule isn't updated online until April, but I will be there end of March - April so when I get the schedule for April in my room, I will post it here.
