Sooo...DH and I are going to be in Orlando using up some Marriott vacation club points and going to Universal Studios at the end of September. I then find out that wine and food festival starts while we will be in Orlando so I said to DH " oh look wine and food festival starts while we will be there and then he said.....why don't we go to Disney for a couple of days and stay at the contemporary "! pixiedust: Woo Hoo!! Scored an atrium club level theme park view with the military discount (no discounts at BLT and I already banked our DVC points for this year) :scared: Will just be there for two nights 25&26 Sep but thrilled as we weren't planning on a stop at Disney this year !

Now if only my San Antonio Spurs will beat Cleveland tonight it will be a perfect day ! :woohoo:

I received an email about a week prior to arrival from WDW for each of my two reservations. Basically explained the new option and directs you to complete online check in including adding your credit card, email address, and cell phone number. Both of my reservations were already paid in full. My magic bands opened my CR room with no problem and charging with the magic band and pin code also worked with no problem. I did not have the dining plan. So, for me, I would say it worked perfectly as we were intending to drop our bags and head to the parks. I think if we had a non-club room at Beach Club they would have just sent me that room number too. Beach club had to activate our magic bands for the elevator access to the 5th floor which may be why we had to be taken up initially.
Looking forward to returning to CR garden wing July 29 to August 1, 2015 prior to a stay at the Polynesian. The Contemporary is our family favorite and every time we stay there we say, why do we stay anywhere else? But we enjoy trying all the resorts.
It is fun trying different resorts and doing split stays - I'll log your dates. Thank you for letting all of us know how the new program worked for you. I suspect I'll be getting my notice to participate in about a week.

So I found out some info about the Welcome Packet you was supposed to get when checked into your room. I read on 3 websites that you will need to get your Welcome packet from the Front Desk and that its the only time you will really need the Front Desk during the check in process. Either way, I DEFINITELY plan on using the Direct To Room service, I want me and my girl to drop our stuff and head straight to the Magic Kingdom at Rope drop. LOL.

This question is for you WDWKOOK, you've already helped me a great deal in getting the Tower Club Suite for me and my girl's 5 year anniversary and for that, I thank you again for that first off. :) Now you mentioned that you should get a Club level email from the Contemporary basically welcoming you to the resort & asking if you need help with Dining reservations. I still haven't received my welcome email from them yet, my question to you is, should I send an email to them about the welcome email right now or should I wait longer? I was thinking that they didn't send it because I didn't pay my whole reservation off but I did a long time ago and still nothing. What do you think?
Like AliceIn suggested, go ahead and just email the IPO. For some reason, the IPOs no longer contact you as soon as you book, like they used to years ago. I really miss that because it makes the trip seem more "real," but, now there's some sort of trigger that tells their system to contact you at certain times, like when you're nearing or past eligibility for ADR-making and FP+, etc... Just put your last name and confirmation number in the subject line of an email and let them know if there's anything you need or just remind them you're books and haven't been contacted.

They will probably attach to an email the PIP form (Pre-Itinerary Planning), but I haven't filled one out in years. It's much easier to just email them what you need rather than filling out their fussy PIP form that usually never works well with Mac OS.

I wish Disney would ship Magic Bands to Canada. This would allow us to expedite this process as well
That's silly that they won't send them to you. So you just get the grey ones at check-in?

That's great that you got to book an unexpected stay at CR and with the 40% off! I'll add your dates:)

Can't believe trip time is finally here! We leave today (driving), will be spending one night at Port Orleans Riverside tomorrow, then checking in at BLT for the week on Sunday. This thread and everyone on it has been so helpful. Thank you all!

Hey everybody, so I sent an email to the IPO people and asked them why I didn't get a Welcome email after I booked my Club level reservations, here's what they said:

THANK you for the email. We normally send out our Welcome information at around 200 days out (which would be 3/31/2015) which is why you have not heard from us at this point.
Your actual 180 day booking window is 4/20/2015 for your 10/17/2015 arrival date. That is the day we can book any requests.
Attached is a copy of our planning form. Please complete this form and return to this email address. We will also need to have a credit card number prior to the 180 day booking window.

We look forward to working with you.

Have a MAGICAL afternoon!

And yeah WDWKOOK, they did attach the PIP form you mentioned and I looked it over and realized that I can do all the reservations myself. LOL. The biggest thing are the Dining reservations and I immediately thought to myself "No way I'm letting them do my Dining reservations" Their office opens at 9am EST and the most difficult reservations are available at 6am EST, 4am in my time zone. So to me, it makes no sense to have them do the dining reservations for me when I may lose the most coveted ones by the time the office opens. But there's definitely a silver lining here in that now I can talk to them directly about my reservations and other applicable stuff pertaining to my stay.

Just put down my deposit for November 12-19 in a Garden Wing room. Stayed there last year for the first time and loved being able to walk to the MK. Can't wait!

Congrats on booking :yay:. November will be here before you know it!

Just registered. My first post after being a long time watcher.

Welcome to the Dis :welcome:.

Congrats on the extra few days for F&W, as well as the 40% discount :cool1:.

I feel the same way about ADRs. I always do my own for any of our CL stays as I'm too much of a control freak to rely on someone else to do it for me....LOL. I also find it easier to make adjustments if what I want isn't available ;).

Hi KOOK .....hope things are going well with you :flower3:. Your trip is getting close :yay:.

Woohoo!! We just switched from the Poly to Contemporary Garden Wing for August 18 - 27th!!! I'm so excited!! It will be our first stay here, and we are looking forward to it!!

So we just moved from the cR to AKV for the second half of our stay. We loved the contemporary! It's everything I thought it would be!!! Can't wait to stay there again. And they upgraded us to club level which I didn't know until we checked in :)

What a wonderful surprrise! How was the food in the club?

Congrats on the upgrade :goodvibes. Glad you enjoyed your CR stay, hope you have a great time at AKV.

Finally gave in to my fears (along with my husband's) that the Polynesian will still be a shambles in late May. Changed to Tower theme park view, I know what to expect there!

KOOK, please add us to the list, May 24-28 TPV :)

We're here now at BLT waiting to be texted our room number. Loved POR last night. Any recommendations for where I should report an awesome resort CM? We have already encountered a fabulous one at BLT and I want to let someone know.

I'm going to be booking at CR in the very near future, but can't decide whether the price for a theme park view is worth it. Can you see the fireworks from somewhere else on the resort (not including from a restaurant)? What are your thoughts on the 3 views?

We always stay on the Bay Lake View side because we like the view much better but when the fireworks start, we go on the open fire escape along with a whole bunch of other people. Just make sure you use a tray or something to hold the door open or it will lock behind you and you have to walk down. There is also a 4th floor viewing deck and that pipes in the music
