Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Sorry about OT question but I know we have Portofino people here. We got our room, ate at 430, and we are so so far. We are overlooking the villa pool. I remember that I had a similar room my first time here. I *think* there was a shortcut someone here told me about but I don't remember it. We figured out a quick way to the boat but the lounge and lobby feel miles away. This room makes the boardwalk halls seem short. If anyone knows what I'm talking about please share lol.

The good news is I'm sitting in the lounge eating cheese and enjoying a peroni.
We had a similar setup last time we stayed there CL. Never found a shortcut to the club, but the club was glorious, so spacious!

Thanks for remembering @NicoleLarson.

Actually I was asking about the Rule of 17 for stairs. According to this rule, the sum of the riser height and the tread depth should equal 17 inches. For example, if the riser height is 7 inches, the tread depth should be 10 inches.

Dave
Ill be there the beginning of December...I'll try to remember to measure the stairs. I'm old so you might need to remind me😂

I think that was me because we had the same situation. If I remember correctly, you can cut across the villa pool (if its not raining or 5 million degrees) . I dont remember an interior shortcut. How's Portofino? Thats our favorite CL

Portofino is beautiful and so peaceful. We love the lounge here. We had hot pretzels during snack time yesterday, that made us all so happy lol. Sitting here now with my son for breakfast. The lounge is so spacious with plenty of seating. They even had white claw during dinner service. We caught the opera singers in the piazza which is always a highlight for me. Kids had Gelato and hubby wanted ice cream so we walked over to Hard Rock. My youngest loved the vibe and activity.
My room is literally at the villa pool. I'm on the 2nd floor with sliders and 2 chairs outside. It's set back so can't walk to pool from there. I don't think.

Do you physically walk through the pool?

Anyone traveling in Nov who was stuck with rack rate, you might want to check for discount availability. I was finally able to apply an AP rate this morning (CR CL). I wasn’t able to modify at first so grabbed a separate reservation to be safe, but then was able to modify my original about 10 min later, so maybe they opened a few up?Discount isn’t great for CL and only covers weekdays, but it’s better than nothing!

Eta: I see that an additional AP discount was announced yesterday, so I’m apparently slow 😂!

Yes. Although my DH is now debating me on whether or not it actually saves you time. Sounds like your stay is going well!
Yes, we are having a great time. Went to Universal early yesterday for.a few hours. Park was not crowded at all. Everything but the one Harry Potter ride was a walk on with express passes. Had a huge afternoon storm, was worried about after hours at HS. Rain died around 8. Took an uber to HS, walked in at 9 and was off rise by 930. Was the perfect night to get rides in but my kids had other plans lol. Smugglers run was a walk on. My one son had to shop galaxy edge. For what seemed forever. He ended up with some gift card thing that's like a rock or someone. Then popcorn break and my other son wanted to relax and eat. We hit toy story land next. The family coaster (not sure why I'm forgetting names this morning) was not running. Never came back and not sure why it was out. Ee waited about 25 minutes for Toy story mania and I think that was the longest wait. We could have rode everything multiple times but they were just enjoying walking around and taking it all in. Silly kids. They had a bunch of characters, little to no wait if you wanted. Maybe 1 or 2 people in line. There was giapetto, jimminy cricket and little bo peep maybe. I would definitely do another after hours. I think the weather kept day people away and it wasn't a sold out event. We were asked multiple times to see wrist band upon entering the different lands. Today is island of adventures and tomorrow is epic.
Everyone here is lovely. I'll attach today's lounge menu.

I did have to do a little double take at ‘your castle’ in the mural. Seems some artistic liberties taken on the height. 😇
Yes it is really short, squat, and height challenged for a proper Princess castle. However since Sleeping Beauty is not "Real" do we really care if they chose to embellish it in Artist renderings.

I am more offended by the name they chose: High Key Club. 🤣 :offtopic: 8-)

Suggestions for best CL to stay at during the Christmas party? Also which party? MVMCP or jollywood?
I have done both. For rides Jollywood was great. You really could ride all of the headliners with minimal wait. It felt more adult. There was music playing around the park so more lively than normal.

MVMCP we like for getting into the holiday mood. The parade and main st decor with some rides sprinkled in.

We like CR cl for MK because I have ran back for desserts and back to party some parties (both Halloween and Christmas) .

We did a split the 1st year of jolly . We did BWI cl for jolly and GF RPC for MVMCP. It was 2 nights each and one of our best trips! Me and dd for that one,

I know I recommended CR but stayed at GF but I have done many parties. I usually go with cheapest CL on monorail for parties. I got a great GF rate that year.

For me, party season makes CR and to a secondary extent GF good choices. Can't beat walkable access before and/or after the event and not having to think about much else.

MVMCP and Jollywood are pretty different experiences, IMHO. Jollywood is the more fun "party", you can have adult beverages if inclined, get dressed up, get some great pics, and a great holiday vibe. On the margins it's less crowded than a typical MVMCP.

If your dates happen to line up for this to work, I'd probably lean towards doing Jollywood and if there is a MVMCP occurring during your trip watch Minnie's special holiday fireworks from your room (if you have TPV) or lounge. IMHO it's arguably the best party fireworks show and not to be missed. And staying at one of the MK resorts lets you enjoy it for "free" vs having to pay for a party ticket.
