Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Oh no! I just saw her when I was leaving the lounge around 10 minutes ago, but I think she was just making sure everything was ready for tomorrow. I think she’s really supposed to leave at 6pm but often ends up staying late. She was in there earlier tonight (like closer to 5pm). So sorry you keep missing her! I was in there talking to @CogsworthTN! Such a nice person! So glad I got to meet her! I can’t believe you were in there too and we missed you☹️! I’ll be in there for desserts later if you’re around. You may have seen me since it’s hard to miss a person wearing fluffy socks and house shoes😂! Sorry but my feet hurt!
Well, I’m wearing a pink dress, pink Merrill water-type shoes, and pink glasses (I’m sensing an unintended theme). Not sure if I’ll make it to dessert, but you’ll know me if I walk in! Please say hi!

Ok, CL experts! Need some insight please! Apologies in advance for the length of this post:

Just upgraded our YC water view room to a YC CL resort view room (yay!). We haven’t stayed club level in YEARS because we joined DVC, so majority of our trips are booked with our points instead. However, end of July we’re doing split stay—Poly the first half using our points and YC or BC the second half since our kids are finally strong enough swimmers to enjoy Stormalong Bay. Originally I booked YC water view because we wanted to have better odds of a full balcony and 5th sleeper sofa (our youngest ideally needs her own spot to sleep otherwise the rest of us suffer haha).

That said, since I’ve now caved and booked club level, wondering if I should re-think things. I’m not familiar anymore with the differences in the rooms/lounges for CL at Yacht vs Beach. Family of 4 (kids will be 8 and 5), hoping for a balcony and ideally that 5th sleeper option. Which of the 2 resorts would you recommend (and which room category)? Any other tidbits you think I should be considering?
The biggest difference between the two lounges is that the YC lounge has a balcony to eat on and Bc does not. YC has a new rehab , the BC rehab was a few years ago. The YC CL has just had a rehab to CL rooms and you are more than likely to get a full balcony not so with BC. With a 2 queen size room I believe would be enough room however the rooms may have a pull out sofa bed. I usually have a king room so someone may know more than I on that. There is no difference in what food is served. Some of the entrees come from Ale and Compass or Cape May kitchens

You will most likely get a full balcony at the YC. There is only one CL room that doesn't have a balcony. The BC rooms only have approx 75% full balconies. And most of those rooms are dormer rooms which are slightly smaller.

You will have a better chance at getting a sofa bed at the YC. Many of the BC rooms are too small for the sofa bed. :)

The BC lounge is roomier than the YC lounge. It is set up a little better for children than the YC lounge.

Same breakfast today with ham substituted for bacon/pork sausage and multigrain croissants and crumb cake replacing chocolate chip bran muffins and doodle muffins.
Did @Dispro1 at least get some scrambled eggs? (Must say, at least I will not be tempted by breakfast, which I try to skip - very difficult at CR and GF with all the hash brown casserole/cheesy hashbrown thingies/chicken and biscuit ridiculousness.)

I’m currently eating them! RPC has better breakfast, but this is one of the better days at BWI. They often have frittatas for breakfast here which are drier tasting than the ones in RPC. The bacon at BWI is better than RPC though because it’s cooked perfectly…that will be tomorrow lol!

I like how you jazz up your eggs. The potatoes look good.

Thank you, Ricguz and Wood Nymph! This was exactly the info I was hoping to verify. Think I’ll stick with YC and cross our fingers for that sleeper sofa for our youngest haha!
Just wanted to add - it has been a pretty long time since I stayed at BC, but I can’t recall not having a sleeper sofa (or full balcony, for that matter) at YC, and I’m usually a party of 1-2 and never even request the sleeper. :)

Just wanted to mention that there are reusable mug refills at the CR pool. I believe it’s just not out in the open—you have to go up to the ordering window at the sand bar and show them your mug. During Covid, they put it in a paper cup, but I think they are back actually taking your mug and putting the soda in it for you.
Thanks you for confirming, I remember reading about it a long time ago and guessed it still worked. We didn't feel adventurous enough to ask, and anyway, we still “needed” to go to the lounge, because what else pairs with a soda more than an ice cream sandwich (except for a Mickey ice cream bar maybe)

Totally. I always bring down cans of soda, juice boxes and chips from the lounge.

I think there is a refillable mug station at the bay lake tower pool (not 100% sure).

Yes there is but it is only available to BLT guests at the Cove Pool Bar. And the Contempo is the only self-service location at the CR.

Dave

Guess it’s just the way the building is set up, but I wonder why they don’t add a self service one at the CR pool.

No, you misread my post. Neither pool has a self-service refill station. The only self-service refill station is available at the Contempo Cafe on the 4th floor of the A-frame tower.

Oh thanks for the clarification. I did misread it. 🙃
