Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Can u request the add in at the YC for CL access? I don’t think I can but just asking.
No the WL is the only resort with this CL add-on feature. It came about when about half of the 7th floor moved to the CCV DVC. This has left the Old Faithful Club with extra capacity which allowed a creative team to come up with this unique offering.

Thanks for the info.

Debating on Typhoon Lagoon and wondering the travel time to get there in the morning after a CL breakfast?

Your question was answered, but my personal advice assuming you don't have a car, take an Uber/Lyft/Minnie Van to TL. Not much $, it's a quick drive, and avoids any bus sharing/transferring/whatever mess you may encounter. Disney's made water park bus transportation so annoying and often time consuming (generally speaking), we almost always will use rideshare instead.

Have fun!

What a great idea. I did not even think of that. We will do that! Please continue with any and all suggestions to make this an amazing trip! Thanks!

That's what we did as well; going all the way to Disney Springs and back is quite painful. Keep in mind that Minnie Vans are more expensive, but they all have available car seats (and of course 23% more magic).

I'm normally not one to spend energy griping about discounts or get hung up on CL vs non-CL room pricing, but the occasional wide disconnect on CL discounts vs other discounts these days sure does make giving Disney more of my money hard.

Eg, YC in July:

Resort View CL $898 rack rate / $717 AP discount (20%)
Resort View - $660 rack rate / $394 AP discount (40%)

If I could get the same 40% AP discount on the CL room I'd book it without hesitation or second thought. But as-is that's just such a large gap I have almost no choice but to go non-CL. Plus YC at a sub $400 rate almost feels too good to pass up.

Can eat at Cake Bake every day and still come out ahead. :-)

Agreed! We have an upcoming trip in May, and I regularly check as if miraculously the CL rooms will get a higher discount. We’re doing MYOCL at the Dolphin instead for about $2800 less than any of the Crescent Lake CL, then we have two nights at a really good rate at CSR CL where I was able to snag a regular room. I’ve only ever been able to snag the 1-bed cl there.

Agree. That’s just too big a disparity. It’s a really great rate on the regular room though. 😀

It’s ridiculous. And it seems nearly impossible to get bb pricing on CL now, too. I’d like a just-in-case room in August, but may be a MYOCL room! I started watching DGCs closely for additional savings b/c I have been really trying to boost my emergency account recently, and I need to replace my roof next year. They are a PITA, and I am not a huge fan of stacking them and keeping track of multiples, but every so often, a 10% off deal comes along. Those are just too good to pass up. I paid for most of my upcoming trip including a suite at GF with an additional discount this way. Gone are the days when I used them for wristbands at festivals only…

Does anyone have experience adding individuals to a resort reservation closer to the trip? We booked a 2BR CR tower club suite with a BB discount in August. We are taking my 85 year old mom and Aunt and fitting in a trip before my son starts his sophomore year at Penn State. I’ve extended the invitation to my brother and his family but he is just coming off a cruise and not ready to commit just yet. I know the room accommodates 10 and with his family, we would have 8. I also realize we would all have to have the same number and level of tickets in the room. Part of me thinks to just reserve it as room only and add the tickets to MDE separately but the planner in me twitches about adding them correctly in time to plan some multipass experiences. Sorry for letting you inside my overthinking mind. 😀

Step aside, that's my job pirate:

I really like the CL perks but not at the currently priced offerings. It's so much nicer to get a deluxe room for $400, $500, even $600 per night and be able to eat and drink where ever you want and still come out ahead. Thanks again to @trishadono for normalizing MYOCL: It's great! It's not about what you are spending but what you are getting for your spend.

I have a BB CS CL booked for October and then a BB POP reservation booked for Dec. Honestly, I think I'll probably enjoy POP more with the skyliner and built-in 'free' deluxe dining plan.

:D :hippie: :wizard:

MYOC…. I pay attention to my resort. If no real glass in the room I bring one🍷

I keep reminding myself non cl trips “this is great! I can eat what I want, when I want and where I want!”

Then on cl trips I say “this is great! No lines, no waiting for a table, I can grab 🍷for my room , snacks as needed”

I kinda prefer mixing it up , non and cl trips. BEST of both worlds☺️

Next I’m GF resort view but dh loved poly tower so much I am stalking to move.

Are you still within your 7 day booking period? Did you already book it as a package? If you’re outside the 7 day window, I don’t think it can be changed from package to room only or vice versa. They’re 2 separate booking platforms so it would entail making a whole new reservation, which you can’t do after the 7 days. At least that’s my understanding. When I booked room only, the CM made sure to emphasize it could not be changed to a package later.

Funny you posted this today, I’ve had my own CL booking debate today too. I have 3 night YC CL booked in September. The same reservation is about $130 less thru Priceline. Rakuten has Priceline hotels at 8% cash back, another $168, so about $300 total less than the Stay More discount I currently have it booked with. The room is still cancellable per regular rules. I’ve used Rakuten & Priceline before with no issues. Only drawback is paying the whole thing up front with credit card instead of discounted gift cards. Decisions, decisions.

8% back is pretty good! If I weren’t still dithering about visiting in August, I might jump on that.

You're correct that a package can't become "room only," but you can always strip it of add-ons (tickets, dining plan, memory maker etc) and create a package that is only a room known as a "basic package."

CMs offer it to APs for lower deposits and you must call to book it on your own. It also has the 30-day payment requirement. I never took it because I always liked the flexibility of the shorter cancellation window and worked on accumulating DGCs to pay the room balance before checking-in.

Today is day 7. If I leave it as a package, it looks like I can add guests later within room capacity and would have to add them with the same tickets.
