Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

This is a 1st. DH asked me to tell you all with gf rpc lacking midday offerings, soup, meats, home made chips, scones etc, “It’s not worth it!”

I thought it was worth it for NYE with all the extras they had but for the current price? No it is not. Well unless a special occasion etc. However for Mom n me trips DD is not worth the extra$ lol.

I actually booked CBR for MDW 3 night for the price of one cl room. I was surprised even BC , wl etc are close to $1000 with taxes with AP discount applied. Sheesh!

Just popped in to say the Celebration on the Top was amazing! We are going again next week and can’t wait!

I have used cl lounges late . I even moved from gf cl to Cr 9/30/21 and still was able to access gf for desserts to visit a friend. 👍
Great to hear (both) - thanks so much, Trish. You guys have made me feel a lot better. At least if I move, I’ll be saving some money.

Do you think it would be awkward for me to attend Celebration solo? I’m torn, but I got that res for my solo day/night and hate to not use it!!! I’m also still a bit freaked about indoor dining, tbh, but it looks really spaced out.

I kept moving my solo trip week trip around until I found a discount NOT near $1000 a night with taxes after discount, it was nuts! Then there is GF and CR being MORE than that with a discount, and Poly not even having a discount. I was able to get BWI CL for just over $600 pre-tax with discount and I felt like I struck gold, but I was about to concede and book POFQ. I personally think none of the CL are worth more than what I'm paying for my trip with the reduced offerings, which is why I haven't stayed CL yet before this trip I booked, and why I almost didn't book it. I'm hoping that after the 50th stuff is over they bring the prices down a hair (wishful thinking). Even with midday offerings RPC was nice, but it wasn't THAT nice.

I have AKL cl next weekend. Let me know if need me to check for anything specific. I was also there opening weekend in August. I miss midday offerings at all the cls this year but their breakfast and appetizers were very goodat AKL.
Thank you! If you can let me know what beers are offered and evening desserts that are kid friendly that would be amazing!

There was a solo young woman there at ours. I offered to take her picture and chatted when I passed her but she was fine just sitting there alone.

There are 2 rooms. I would pick the room with the bar. The guys working were awesome and would make you feel less alone with their attentiveness. The earlier you get there the better seating options. We were at 2nd floor checkin at 620-630. We were like the 6th group back. We got table of our choice, against the window with castle view!

I have a bwi akl cl split this weekend. I booked cheap AP discount rooms universal 1st which brought down the long weekend to a doable amount. 2 night uni 3 at wdw.

Dd in a wedding Pres weekend ( I am going too)

My Birthday is friend 2 shower.
Mothers day weekend friend 2 Bach party.
Early June her wedding with dd in it and I am attending,
Friend 3 has a wedding CDW
We have a lake house that we gutted and it’s finally almost done, my kitchen going in this month! I have had a temp one 2 years. So no to June July or August Disney. Boat time !

So I will have fewer trips this year for sure! Then next year we have dds stuff and wedding sept 2023. I’ll be broke and busy!

This may be my last cl for a while but I had a great ride since it’s reopening! Very Thankful for the times I have had.

I’ll get a pic of beers. They had cookies and brownies for kids. Don’t be afraid to take what you like afternoon and save for later. Dh likes cookies so I grab early and then later when he doesn’t like anything? I have em in my purse !

i just looked at pix from August and they had little tiny bags you could fill with candy! Watch for that it was so cute and fun!

This solo trip is my last solo trip for a while, I have my trip with my dad end of this month, and my CL with my sister next Dec. and I think that's it for a while due to other stuff with us too. We have a week long DCL cruise this April, hopeful trip to Scotland (just my family-myself, husband, and kids), then the husband and I have ABD arctic expedition with Joe Rhode booked for summer 2023 (expensive!) so the trips are slowing down. I don't mind though, I think I'm good.

You are going to be busy though, I'm exhausted just reading all of that lol, and I'm sure you'll be so happy with the real kitchen! We built our house last year and I'm done for a while (I say that, but I'll find a project). Thankful my kids are still young so we don't have weddings, but my oldest will be starting high school band next year and so I might get to travel for that.

Apologies for not being able to read thru the last dozen or so pages of this discussion, but I just wanted to ask...

Is the CL open at BWI and WL?

If so, what Covid related restrictions do they have? Is the food still buffet style or not? Or is it mostly back to as it was before... but with masks and lots of hand sanitizer? Thanks.

Edit: just watched some recent YouTube videos and they seemed fairly back to normal with the exception of those frames with plexiglass panels over the food. Or is there anything else?

DD(who i posted pics from her wedding there 9/2/18) and DSIL arrived last nite for DDs 30th birthday today; it is 5th trip we haven't gone on due to covid scourge; she has been communicating with us via text/snap/ and pics; they got to epcot early this AM via IG and park was empty; a walkon at Soarin, in fact they were the only 2 in line; all pics have virtually nobody in parks; at 11:30 when guests started filling in they were all done with everything major and were going back for a rest; i told her how jealous we are but still wished her a happy birthday by singing mickeys happy birthday song from mickeys birthdayland for those that remember :-);Sarah Mickey.jpgsarah wedding ceremony.jpgSarah in Cinderella Coach.jpgSarah M & M.jpgWedding Pic 1.jpg

Thanks for sharing the pix! DD is doing her wedding at his families church and reception nearby in DC. Her guy wants a relaxed vacation and since dd wears him out at Disney a few wdw days at the end getting added as a compromise.

Somehow dh feels he doesn’t want his baby girl on those trendy long weekend Bach parties and said he would help with costs if she does it at wdw. Then her 2 friends getting married this year I have taken to Disney before so dd,bestie 1 bestie 2 and I may go down a few days prior and I can leave once the others arrive.
I already have my Stoney Clover Lane bag with Mother of the Bride patch!

Doing the math but CR suites may be best option? I’ll just have to watch it!

@trishadono and @Sarahslay, I’ve been so grateful to you both for all your help the last 18 months on the trips I’ve taken. If you told me in 2019 how many WDW trips I’d take (and villa/“homemade CL” and CL-level, at that), I’d have laughed quite a bit. I used to do one trip every year or two. But WDW’s been such a joyful escape when all our international plans fell through, and getting insight from likeminded fans has made it feel that much more reassuring.

Mazel tov to you and her!!!!!!

The beauty of our planning her Sept wedding was going down march, april, and may to visit with the Disney planners; last minute, so we stayed at YC once and BWI 2X. And since the food was kosher and had to be brought in from Hollywood Fl, we got to do a dessert party taste test instead of the food - it was grand in the Grand lol;

her wedding consisted of Sat nite GF marina dessert party during piped in fireworks;
we held for our immediate family predinner dessert party at chef mickeys for about, well 2 large round tables full;

ketubah signing in a room at the GF convention center;
next cindys coach for the 4 of us to the wedding pavilion;
the ceremony;
then smorg at GF Convention center Whitehall room and patio;
then the reception in full ballroom
we had about 150 peeps;

next morning with our mother and father of the bride teeshirts on, 7:30AM for about 60 at 1900 park fare; a bit early but they only do early or very late for such large parties and some had to catch flights home;

all in all just the usual disney magic(pre bob paycheck ;-) )

Thank you all for the information that has been shared in the thread!

I have been following along for quite some time, and I’ve noticed that many of you also have Peloton bikes. I know it’s a long shot, but I thought someone might have asked before.

We will be at BWI CL 1/14-1/20.

I have a really nice ride streak going (thanks to Covid canceling so much travel…), and I hate to have it end on our trip. I plan to do some app things to keep my streak alive, but I really wish I could clip in somewhere. I see that the Dolphin has some bikes, and I reached out to their fitness center to see if I could get a day pass, but I haven’t heard anything.

Does anyone know if it would be possible to rent a bike and have it in our hotel room? And who I would contact to try to get one? Or if any of the Crescent Lake properties have Pelotons on site?

I had hoped that between Cody being on DWTS on ABC and the Disney Peloton rides that bikes would become more available on property. I also thought that the NBA would have had a lot of fitness equipment come in and that renting something wouldn’t be so challenging.

Thanks!

I wish there was a good option, but aside from moving your trip over to S&D I don't know if you're going to find anything. You obviously know the bikes are pricey, and moving them around isn't easy (and renting them out and moving them all over the place probably isn't a common practice). I've only heard of hotels that actually have them on their property moving them to guests rooms, so I'm not sure you'll find any place to rent one to get in your room...also with the size of Disney rooms I'm not sure I'd want one in there. Usually when I'm on property I take an outdoor walk/run class, strength, stretch, yoga, meditation, etc. to keep my streak going. I do follow someone on IG that stays at BLT that does the app workouts on the machines in the gym there. I know it's not the same, and you don't get the metrics, but might be a whole lot easier and more cost effective to just do that. I drive down and will be taking my yoga mat and light weights, plus taking the walking and running classes early morning (or if my dad takes a nap and starts snoring, midday lol).

Disney World has been my surprise escape too as my international travel plans fell apart. I’m still not comfortable traveling abroad so another year of domestic Disney escape travel is sketched in my books and I’m very much looking forward to it.

It has definitely been a welcome escape for me over the last couple of years, and being able to come here to talk to like minded folks has been wonderful as well (CL thread is the best!). It's weird to think about not going as much now, to talk about going other places in the future, but this has been so nice during all the craziness.

I’m not against begging myself lol, little *wink wink*
OMG. I am ready to scream. I searched for a 6-day stay during my (4-day stay) dates starting on either Wed (my arrival day) or Thursday, and guess what? All kinds of availability. I called Disney, and they put me on hold forever, then came back and said, those rooms were all booked just now. So I hung up. Then checked again. And guess what? Yep. Still there. All kinds of rooms are available if you look for 5 days. I'm now on hold again.

How can this be so difficult? I am trying to save them room cleaning and give them more money! How is it in their interest to have me booked this way?

I have half a mind to keep the cheaper room in the middle and eat everything I can get my hands on in the lounge on that night and the next morning just because.

No need to respond. I just needed to vent.

Updated to clarify this totally confusing situation ;).

Not to pry, but is there a reason you need to book via phone and not just do it online and later cancel all of your other reservations?
