Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

AK club staff just told us management has decided to remove kids food from the dinner snack line up. Supposedly based on feedback :/
Ak dinner was individual corn chowders - super yummy and falafel. Some raw vegetables, crackers, one cheese, one sausage, pita, crackers and a variety of humus. Was kinda underwhelmed. Definitely no chef doing anything :(

I'm REALLY curious who this "feedback" was from? Who's up there throwing a fit over chicken nuggets? I mean its Disney, why would you purposely take away kid friendly items? I guess I will be giving my feedback to bring it back.

I really doubt it was feedback. That's just an easy thing for management to say. The kids items at AKL CL have been very popular for years.

What?! I guess a CL stay at AKL isn‘t in my near future. My DD isn’t an adventurous eater and generally sticks to the kids foods. Wish I could give them my feedback that those options need to come back. It’s Disney World. How is making the food less child-friendly possibly a good thing? :sad2:

Hell, I’m not even an adventurous eater and would only eat from the kids section if we booked at AKL!!! (canceled our stay there a couple years ago based on the food options alone.) And you guys know how I feel about the chicken nuggets at GF!!! I always thought they were better than most of the ‘adult’ food they served! But besides me, I know my kids would definitely prefer more kid-style options to some of the dishes they offer. And I completely agree with you... how could you not offer a kid-friendly option every night when you’re a resort that caters to families? 🤔

Need to eat a little crow. I actually like the CR rooms in person. 😬
That’s great to hear. We’ll be there at the end of Nov. for 3 days for my husband’s 60th birthday. I was on the fence when I saw the new rooms. We are theme park view atrium level. Are there any rooms numbers I should request?

One thing I will miss about Atrium Club is the kids table by the TV that would usually have a kids oriented show on. Was always helpful for a distraction while the parents made a plate, etc.

I will say the current menu is slanting towards rather adult’ish items. You can still get the basics - bagels/muffins, fruit loops, apple slices, oatmeal, and similar. But the rest of the items are trying to be foodie, and it’s probably debatable just where on the foodie scale is the right mix for Disney CL.

I have hit the age where some lights on Spaceship Earth make me cry and the Epcot nighttime show leaves me wondering if I can sneak out to the exit early. 😬:duck::tiptoe:

You're helping me make the decision to cancel those Epcot Fireworks Dining packages :rotfl2:

Wondering if this is for the Anniversary - especially this opening weekend? With the assumption that there are a lot more adults than kids right now?

I actually like the epcot show. That said, I only watch the fireworks from what show I'm watching. I never watch projections and I hate when they narrate anything during a show. I'm boring and just want to see fireworks lol. I don't care about the other stuff so I guess I'm easy to please 🤷‍♀️

ITA. It’s too foodie in CR right now. Dependable basics can be good if they are good quality. No birds nest this morning, an improvement, or maybe someone just forgot...

Coddled eggs with mash gets a big 🤮 from me. Also raspberry iced croissants no good if you wanted to make a sandwich, just put out plain.

Ok club level people,

I am loving this thread. I am bringing my 3 now-adult children who have not been to Disney since they were 3,4, and 7. They have been to universal about 5 times with my ex and I'm excited to be able to bring them here and hoping I can sway them into loving it as I do. 1st time staying deluxe and debating on upgrading to club level. cost wise I can imagine it's at least a wash. I am booked in a water view room at BWI, as far as I can tell the cost would only be $1200 to upgrade. I am traveling with 2 men with appetites and my daughter and me. If we save the cost of at least one meal and snacks a day seems like it would even out no? also my son is over 21, so the wine would be a nice addition for him. thoughts?
I would absolutely do it with adult children. I have 3 as well and we always felt it was worth it when they were kids just for convenience alone.
