Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Screen shot this. DD says I NEED ONE.

Guess we all have to throw out our MBs fast like "hot" goods. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:
See, and THIS loser (points at self) knows she will probably shell out on eBay for whatever doofusy limited edition 50th MB comes out so she can impress her niece (and self…) at all touchpoints with special effects…

Still, can’t I have both?

Do the room cards work to open the gate at the pools (when one is staying at a resort that locks the pool gate)? When we stayed at the Poly recently, I was using my phone to open the door to our room, but it wouldn’t work for the pool gate. We had to go back to our room to get my DD’s magicband. I have the worst luck with magic bands. They never open the doors for me. I’m told it’s because I have “too many,” but my daughter has twice as many (at least) as I do, and she never has a problem. Before the MDE app worked as room key, I used to wear one of my daughter’s magic bands in addition to one of mine. But, whatever limited edition 50th magicband comes out, I will probably end up buying on eBay to add to my collection of “park bracelets.“ They work to get me into the park (usually…) but not much else. I really like the 50th anniversary card. I’ve never wanted a card before, but especially for the pool, I think I need one of those!

You can have IT delete your older bands from account. GF rpc cm did it for me but I remember others have called wdw for it.

Generally the cards work anywhere the mb did.

Speaking of cards, parks, etc. If anyone upgraded to the new iPhone, I noticed the APs I had stored in my Apple Wallet via DisneyMagicMobile didn't transfer over, at least for me. Had to re-link them via the MDE app.

I don't normally use my phone for park entry, but it's nice to have just in case one of us forgets a MB or AP card.

I'm guessing they will have these room cards for the duration of the 50th celebration. You can have both.

We check into the BW CL tomorrow, our flight lands around 10:30! It’s getting real, and I’m starting to get excited.

For some reason I have not been as excited as I would have expected for this trip, I think it’s a combo of leaving the kids (I do feel guilty lol, even though they would hate the crowds and lack of riding) and COVID, and knowing we probably shouldn’t be going, but are doing it anyway. But now that it’s tomorrow the excitement is creeping up!

I know exactly how you feel. We're scheduled for BWI the first week of December. I just bought plane tickets...which is way later than I usually would. Part of me just isn't sure it's a good idea to go...due to Covid. We are trying hard to keep our expectations reasonable with regards to what's open and what's not. Right now, Hollywood BD lounge isn't open...it's our favorite place to sit outside and eat/drink/people watch. Hoping it's open by December. Our plan it to try to remain flexible and to keep our likely disappointments in check. Please keep us updated on your experiences!

Anyone else as nutty as I am? :crazy2:

I love value resorts for the price.
I love moderate resorts for the food courts.
I love deluxe resorts for the balconies.
I love CL for breakfast croissants with orange marmalade butter.
I love solo trips . . . just because . . .

BUT I've decided I can't in all good conscience book CL for my upcoming solo trip. (Maybe I shouldn't watch the nightly news and see how the money could be better used.)

So why is the CL thread the first one I read when I come to disboards?!!??? Anyone else nutty like me and continue to faithfully read CL even though they aren't planning to book?

Enjoy your trip! Can’t wait to hear how you like it.
We’ve only stayed BWI CL once before, and while I didn’t like our view or room location the food was probably the best CL food we’ve had (we’ve stayed at all but AKL and CS). I’m curious to see if it remains that way post COVID!

it won’t let me post this for some reason, I apologize in advance if it shows up multiple times!

Did you have a Standard view CL at the BWI? What was the view of? I'm a little concerned...we have been fortunate in the past to have a BWI Deluxe..best view ever. At this time, we have a Standard CL booked for December...concerned about the view from the room.....

For security reasons none of the Cards in your Apple Wallet transfer including Credit or Debit cards when you upgrade your iPhone.

The digital cards are generated based on the unique characteristics of the iPhone when each digital card was created. And each time you use a digital card in your Apple Wallet it is validated to ensure that it is still on the physical device used to create it.

This would include any digital Disney MobilePass items stored in your wallet. Also ApplePay does not transfer either and you will need to setup ApplePay again.

Yes, we had a standard CL room during a time they didn’t differentiate BW view from garden. I requested BW view, but there aren’t that many and we didn’t get one. Our room was 2 or 3 from the end of the resort on the pool side. But since the resort takes a turn at the end we weren’t facing Epcot. So it was a perfectly fine calm view of trees/garden and I think we could see the quiet pool. But it was a HIKE from the entrance to the resort, and still quite a walk from the lounge (we had 4 kids including 2 toddlers so we carried most food back to our room). I don’t normally care about walking, we always walk to DHS when staying in an Epcot resort, for example, but just walking super long hotel corridors is a drag. Plus, why on earth are there no stairs out to the Boardwalk on that end?! What a dumb idea that was! What I meant by not liking the view was that the BW side obviously has a great view. Many of the garden view rooms have a view of the top of the Epcot fireworks. Because of the last turn in the resort we didn’t even have that, so it just seemed like for the same price we had a huge walk and didn’t get to see the BW or fireworks.

It obviously didn’t ruin the trip or anything, but to be honest it did dampen our overall opinion of the BWI and BW CL. We are big balcony and view people, and will often pay for a view (at the Poly for example), so to know for no added price some people got the BW view was annoying. I know it’s just luck, but I want to be honest and that’s how I felt. However, the food was great and I miss CL and this one had availability so we’re giving it another whirl lol! This time it is just my DH and I, and I’m trying to go with the the expectation of the same room so anything else (except that 1 room past us on the same side 😆) will be an improvement.

Domt be afraid to email dss and say last time I had room x and it was tricky with littles carrying stuff / prefer a room closer to lounge.
Sometimes it helps .

I have had great views and not so great views and or locations . It balances out over time usually .

I’ve only done BWI once too !

Be there soon !
