Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Hubby thinks we might get food vouchers or some sort of credit.

I wouldn’t expect food vouchers. What has happened so far is the price is just reduced to the normal price for that room view category without club level. Ex: standard club level price reduced to standard room price.

Please let us know I’d you hear!

This would not work for us at Poly. Part of the reason we love it so much and pay for CL is the location of the rooms and the extra space in the lounge. I think they are going to find a way to make club level work by our August trip. (fingers crossed)

We had a club level stay booked for April. We were called about it being closed but we rebooked with the room discount. We ended up assigned on the 5th floor anyway. The lounge at YC is closed & locked. Very sad.

I hope it’s back for your August trip, because then I could book club level for our September trip!

I feel the same way about on site perks. Other then charging to a magic band I can't think of any. I picked Waldorf for the golf, lazy river and we're Hilton people. Though I read wonderful things about the Four Seasons. I'm going to go look at them now lol. A suite at the Waldorf is about the same price as YC.
I’m usually a Hilton person too. I was originally thinking about staying at the Waldorf, but then I looked at the Four Seasons and decided to stay there instead.

Actually did a mini-GF/FS split. That is not a split I recommend doing - at all!!

We stayed at the FS a couple of months ago. I think I posted a little about it on this thread at the time in case you didn’t see it. I’m happy to answer any questions. In short, amazing stay/experience.

DS10 and I were just going over our future Disney plans last night and he was like “I’d really like to fit Four Seasons somewhere in there.” I was like “excuse me....maybe when you pay for it!”. :goodvibes
I read your post about the FS and do have a question. What makes the GF/FS split one that you wouldn’t recommend? Now I’m second guessing myself, LOL.

We’re staying at VGF a few nights, which I thought was perfect for a day or two at MK. Then we’re switching to the FS, which looks absolutely amazing. We stayed at Four Seasons in Maui at spring break and loved every second of it. It was truly a luxury resort, not even in the same category as Disney deluxe.

Enjoy! The FS looks amazing. I looked up the ones in Hawaii the other day and it is absolutely stunning! Disney deluxes are very nice but can't compare to many other hotels outside of theme parks. I'm thinking of several NYC hotels, such as the Lotte Palace. (Though some are now being used for covid and homelessness since covid).

Just chiming in on the four seasons chatter. Its been coming up on hotwire as of lately. Its still $650-700 but better than what I've seen on their website. GF is on there too ~450 and the Waldorf is almost always on there for ~250. Its easy to tell these 3 because they're the only 4.5-5 star hotels in the bonnet creek zone

Oooh good tip. Thanks. 700 is much better then the 13-1400 on line. How far is FS from Waldorf? I didn't realize it was in bonnet creek area too.

So on hotwire, they group areas and all of WDW is called Bonnet Creek. Which i just realize is quite confusing because of the actual Bonnet Creek area where the Waldorf is. However FS is in Golden Oak on Bay Lake.

Lol. It's all so crazy. I know hilton has their Disney areas hotels come up under lake buena Vista. Who could keep track of all this. I'm lucky I make it to work these days😆🤣

This could definitely be a fake out situation (Disney IT 🙄) but Grand CA reportedly showed CL bookable for GCH in early June link

*this happened before during the closure even after it was announced it wouldn’t be opening club level and IT pulled it within a couple days. I was excited but now am highly skeptical. My money here is IT screw up the more I think about it BUT if this is on anyone’s booking radar here you go!*

I'll go ahead and apologize if this question has been answered but I've been wading through the thread and haven't seen it yet.

We are scheduled for a nature view room at WL in early August. When we booked CL wasn't an option and it still isn't, but we'd love to upgrade to it if it does become available. How would that even work? Can I have that info attached to my current reservation or is it just a lost cause at this point?

Hi everyone, I am new here and had a quick question. I have been looking into staying at AKL in two studios (7 people) club Kilimanjaro next April. I am debating whether I should rent DVC points to secure it in case if club level is back by then, or if I take my chances and wait to book through Disney (travel agent) directly if and when they are available. For those of you with experience, are club level rooms at AKL readily available through Disney or are they incredibly tricky to come by? I think I read there are only 10 DVC studios so it makes me nervous waiting as I would need 2, but I really don't want to lose my money through the DVC either as they are non-refundable. Thanks in advance for any insight!

You would either have to modify your existing reservation online for the CL room OR call Disney and have the reservation switched over to the CL room if and when it would be available for your dates. We stayed CL at WL on our last trip and loved it. The resort is beautiful regardless but the lounge overlooking the lobby just blew us away, especially since the Christmas decorations went up during our stay. Here's hoping it's back in time for your trip!

The AKL hotel side has not been announced for reopening yet, not that I'm aware of that is. Until Jambo is back to full operations it is very unlikely that Club level will return.

As for renting DVC points to secure club level, don't bother. You are correct, there are a very limited number of DVC club level rooms. Owners have a difficult time to secure even one club level room for a few days for themselves. You'll be best to go with the hotel side when it reopens.

Thank you so much. I have only ever stayed at CBR, so this is a whole new experience and with everything being closed it is so much more complicated.

A quick alternative angle to the PP’s response above....in normal CL times, WL is the one/only CL that has offered a CL “add on” option for non-CL reservations. When physically checking in that day you can ask to add CL access - I think the charge is something like $90-$100 a day (it’s been so long I’ve forgotten the specifics, I’m sure someone here will know for sure).

You keep your original room on the non-CL floor, but will have access to the lounge like other CL guests.

It has been said there’s a finite number of guests they can accommodate, but to my knowledge I’ve never seen a report of it not being available. Since it’s not advertised or pushed in any way, knowledge about this is generally limited to those who have read about it on the internet somewhere.

Of course, when/if CL returns, TBD if this same option will be available and at what price.

But historically, some/many on this thread would use this option at times when actual CL room reservations have been hard to find (which isn’t uncommon at WL since the actual CL room count is very small).

Hope that helps!

I thought the WL CL add-on price was bumped to $200 per room per night per-pandemic but I could be mistaken…

Did it when it was $100..solid deal.

Do any of the resorts with club level have a zero entry pool with railings?
I'm aware of the lift chairs at all pools, but my mom will have nothing to do with them and I worry about her on the stairs.

Just to add to this, there are 10 DVC units total..... 5, 1 bedrooms and 5 studios which will combine as a 2 bedroom. If 5 people want a 2 bedroom, there will be no studios even available. So just as a previous poster said, they are incredibly difficult to get, you need to have a member that owns at AKL lined up before the 11 month mark In addition we have no idea when or ever if CL will return so I would not even try to book these at the present time.

On the plus side, pre-covid, AKL CL resort rooms were among the easiest to get, so that may be a better route to go.
