Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

optimism /(noun) hopefulness and confidence about the future or the successful outcome of something.

This morning, DH and I decided to rebook the Disney trip we had to cancel last week. We are planning to visit the happiest place on Earth four weeks after my cancer surgery. I was even able to get all the restaurants we originally had booked. :flower1:
Best wishes.

So we had an RPC reservation for June. TA called and we were told we "may" still be allowed to stay in our Main building room (pending no refurb) and they would charge us for an Outer building room (garden view). Of course, no club level snacks, food, etc.

Well-----holy smokes-- we last stayed at RPC 2 summers ago-- the price they gave us for the Outer building was $1,000 MORE than our last RPC stay (same amount of nights).

Has anyone successfully booked the Poly for the summer? I keep checking for end of August and only the King Kamehameha suite comes up. At 2,940 a night. I'm still torn between poly, WL and yachclub. I will say poly is out at 3000 a night 😳🤣

We’re booked for Aug GV CL. We booked last year I think in May, I called and cancelled 2020 and booked 2021 at the same time.

We are just home from our stay at YC. I believe a few days before our trip, I posted on here how desperate we are for CL to come back. Well ironically we were assigned to the 5th floor and MDE even said “Standard View Club Level” 😢. It stirred up all kinds of emotions each time we got off the elevator and saw the empty desks and locked lounge... But it felt great being on the 5th floor again at least!! Praying for SOON!

Hi,
We are staying at the Grand Floridian soon, and our original reservation was for the outer building with a garden view. We just looked on MDE and now it says Standard Room - Main Building - Club Level.
Are we just on a Club Level floor now? Any perks to that these days?

That's not surprising as Disney has continuously raised rates every year, typically faster than even inflation could justify. They do it because (aside from COVID) people are still willing to pay it, even if they haven't done anything to the resorts to justify it (the GF is particularly egregious on this front, since IMO it's been dated since the last refresh came out, which only gets worse as time goes on and wear and tear starts happening).

That said, Disney prices throughout the year fluctuate wildly (due both to discounts and an incredibly specific rack rate calendar), to the point where the same room can differ in price around $300-400/per night depending on when you go. Don't know what time of year you went the last time, and June does tend to be among the lower-priced times so that's probably not the issue in your case, but sometimes that can make a difference.

I don’t think there are any perks right now other than location, but there are plenty of us who would be willing to pay more just for that...so congratulations!

I'd proactively screenshot that if I were you, and if there's a price listed, that too.
You never know what will change and Disney could surprise us and restore CL unexpectedly. It would make sense for the GF to be one of the first to have it return. (Betting GF, Contemporary and Gran Destino will come back online together.)

(edit: fixed resort name)

I didn't think the all-Villa resorts like Riviera have club level?

Agee that GF feels like it will be the first club level(s) to open. Contemporary probably delayed given the general refurb.
Ah, forgot about that! This is the reason I put Poly as one of the later ones to open too. So much going on there at the moment construction wise, but they seem to be aggressive about getting it done.

Poly is booking non-studios rooms as of July 19. Nothing Club level though - no biggie for me...I'm not going to be going back and forth to the resort just for "free" food.

speaking of which the GF rooms should be next in line for an overhaul once the Poly, Contemporary and WL are all back online

seems overdue to me...

I thought I had read eons ago that the Poly CL had it's own Dole whip machine. Maybe that was just a dream. I've never stayed there.

I don't place CL food very high on my list of wants in Disney, there are far better things to be consumed. It's more about the espresso for me 🤣
I never understood why they'll put out liquor and beer in the evenings, but not water bottles to take to the parks with us. Are people so selfish they'll just take the entire inventory back to their rooms?

They have been randomly placing people in the main building as needed. I keep asking to stay there and they say no.
Usually it’s a mechanical issue or overbooking, I don’t think the CR refurb was well planned out . Many CR have to be moved to GF because poly is closed and dvc usually pretty booked up.

Make sure to explore floor 5 , the views are amazing!
