Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Here’s a “what would you do” question.
Club level at which resort: GDT, AKL or YC? I had thought that we would book GDT because the price point on the standard CL room was so much lower, but it looks like the prices have shot up. Now, when I’m comparing fake dates, it looks like it’s only $100 cheaper per night than AKL and YC. We’ve stayed CL at AKL before and loved it. We’ve stayed at YC (not CL) before and liked the location. Thoughts? Another resort I should be considering?

I don’t know
Honestly. In my opinion. Yes
It’sa way for Disney to attempt to get more for the room
I don’t know that everyone is bothered by them. We are not. So ensuring we get the king bed is worth a few bucks
But I don’t know for a fact what the odds are
Having a king bed is worth paying more to me too, but not if it means I lose a sink.

I would pick YC. Firstly, because I think the Epcot resorts are in the best overall location. Secondly, because AKL and GDT are the only 2 clubs I've never done and have zero desire to do. That's just me though, but you asked :)

GDT. No question. Unless it’s New Year’s Eve and I’d pick to yc to walk

I get that, but my husband is a splasher and I like to leave my things set out (and dry).
I have my own bathroom at home. No one, not husband, not kids, nor guests, ever set foot in it. I have territory issues when we travel.

Too funny. You and my DW might get along.

We might have been more OK with the AKL room had we not had 3 AMs in a row of needing to get ready for races where we were overlapping/on top of each other while trying to scramble to get ready. The lack of storage made counter-top space messy/unorganized didn't help much either.

I've had HA rooms before, just never had one quite like AKL where there were differences in so many aspects of the room.

Have you ever had a king room that wasn’t also HA too. At any resort?
The only one I can think of was at BWI

I have, at YC on club level. It was standard view and the worst view we ever had overlooking partial rooftop, a service area, and what I think was a cell phone tower in the near distance. All we heard 24/7 was beep, beep, beep from the carts that transport towels. I will never take a standard view anywhere again!

Are you getting a feel for my vacation priorities? Big beds, personal vanity/sink space, and a view!

You need the water view king we had down the hallway to the left when you get off the elevator. It was among my top 3 favorite specific rooms of anywhere. We didn’t even request it or a king, just were assigned it (likely since we were two).

I don't disagree that it sure would be nice if they all did that, although I suspect it is immensely easier for WL CL to "handle" such outreach with only approx 35 CL-eligible rooms/suites/deluxe rooms. Compare that to say, Poly, which has approx 108 eligible rooms/suites, that's a big difference in daily guest check-ins/outs.

Granted those are the two extreme ends of possible CL rooms counts (ignoring special situations like Tower Club), WL is still relatively tiny compared to the others.

Looking forward to your review of the new WL rooms.
Love! The new rooms
It’s very lodge-y but refreshed too
Just what it needed
Has the “new carpet” smell lol
First, look what they left for us!

As mentioned above, breakfast at AKL CL is amazing, in my humble opinion. We'd stay here for the CL breakfast alone. Tons of options, abundant variety.

Happy to answer any questions.
Would you be able to tell us what the many options and abundant variety of breakfast is? Your high praise is wonderful. I would love to know what there is.
Thanks is advance.

Non-CL, but I had a corner King room at BC on my last trip that was not HA. I didn’t request it but I suspect they gave it to me because I was solo and it was a holiday weekend during F&W. It was standard view, right next to the YC, and one window had the infamous ugly roof view but the other overlooked SAB.
