Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Okay fellow Disney experts. I have told my DH if we stay one night club level we can access club level on the day we check out. Is this correct?

Here is what we are contemplating...we currently are booked at the GF in a standard garden room September 30-October 6. We are thinking about adding a club level room at GF for September 29. We will check out of club level the 30th and then check in for our standard room. So am I correct we can enjoy the lounge on the 30th as well?

This special one night would be my birthday gift. We had club level booked last year at GF to celebrate my 50th, but had to cancel. So this would be special.

You have use of the club level amenities until midnight of your checkout day.

Hello CL friends! We’re a week back from our split AKL/BC stay. Finally catching up on the thread and sharing thoughts from our trip. The trip was our family plus two other families. Love traveling with friends.

Started with AKL, non CL for two nights. AKL has a big place in my heart and it’s always relaxing to be there. It rained for hours in the afternoon - much more than than typical afternoon showers so we didn’t make it to the pool at all. The adults enjoyed a lot of South African wine all over the resort. We had a fabulous dinner at Jiko one night and average dinner at Boma the other. Overall my biggest surprise was my balance at checkout. It was more than my balance at BC despite being half the number of days and us heavily enjoying F&W (ETA, least to feed the evening apps as a meal debate, we did do Sci-Fi and Via Napoli for evening meals and the other nights, supplemented with F&W. There were a couple nights of heavy apps (bbq and pot roast) but don’t remember the other nights offerings). We did AK both days we stayed AKL and both days went to Nomad lounge. All adding to the bill for sure. Who says CL doesn’t save you money.

The transfer over to BC was easy. We dropped our bags at bell services, headed to MK, then BC mid afternoon. Arrival at BC was a bit of a disappointment. Probably a lot had to do with not being greeted or them alerted to us being there. We asked in the lobby to be let up to the 5th floor, no one was around who could help us so we hopped in the elevator and went up ourselves. Other than being asked by the CL front desk staff if we did online check in (yes), they said you’re all set and can wait in the lounge for a room ready text. No welcome, no welcome drink, nothing. The kids had already beelined for snacks, we adults went to the lounge, and I came back out to request welcome drinks. They got us drinks with no issue, but it was a theme for the rest of the week. Hunt down a CM if you wanted anything.

Overall this was a much different experience than our BC experience last year when the CMs were wonderful, generous and engaging. This experience was cold and lack luster. It was a totally different vibe.

Any specific questions on food or offerings, I’m happy to answer. It was the standard fare that normally gets reported here. Crepes and crustless quiche (as was the ice cream) were all welcome additions in the morning. The morning they were supposed to have tartlets they were either out and not replenished, or the CM had an incorrect menu. I will say chef Vicki was wonderful and made laps in the lounge when she brought out hot items during evening apps. Chef Sean was in/out.

Last couple thoughts. The weather was HOT and it rained a lot. We dripped of sweat all week. Crowds though were light. We never waited for much of anything and hit a bunch more rides than ever before in our end of summer trips. The teens spent evenings in DHS while we hit F&W. They rode a lot and we ate a lot.

All in all, it was a great trip. Cheers!

Thanks for your review. Sorry about your subpar experience at the BC, but glad you had a great time overall :).

I am staying at BWI club level in 2 weeks! Praying for good weather. Can someone who has recently been provide an overview of the club offerings? I have stayed at BC cub level a number of times and witnessed the variations in offerings over the last several years (lack of bottled water, serving opened beer as opposed to closed etc). Does BWI provide either of these and what sets it apart. I have read a chef is sometimes in the lounge preparing food, curious what he/she has prepared. Thank you!

We were there for a quick 2 night say the end of August and there were (small) bottles of water in the mini fridge. They have a chef each night preparing 2 appetizers each evening, plus there is a soup or fondue, crudites and cheese available. We had scallops that were fabulous, a bacon mac and cheese, a rigatoni dish, and a kale/strawberry salad.

Or they might be looking for their missing reservations, tickets and FP's that the IT gremlins seem to have hidden.:scared:
Here's hoping things are better tomorrow.::yes::

:faint:

I was there in June and breakfast consisted of danishes, croissants, mini muffins, different types of bread (blueberry, apple, etc, that was changed daily), toast, bagels, fruit, oatmeal, and a variety of cheeses. Mid-day snacks consisted of homemade chips, veggies/dip, mini sandwiches, chocolate chip and sugar cookies, candy (caramel creams, gummies, tootsie rolls, suckers), and trail mix. Apps were somewhat different daily that consisted of Ahi tuna, quinoa salad, roasted potatoes, shrimp cocktail, bread with spinach/artichoke dip, grouper & some sort of steak that the chef made Friday night, both of which were excellent. Desserts were tarts, cookies, mini cheesecakes, and oreos with some type of mousse on top. Beer choices were Yuengling, Sam Adams Summer Ale, and Bud Lite (there was a 4th choice but can't remember what it was). As the pp mentioned, water was usually stocked in the fridge, but if you don't see any, just ask. It was my first BWI CL stay and I loved everything about it.....the CL CMs could not have been more pleasant! Brittany, Joe, Chris, Lorenzo, Howie, JJ, Linda, & Pete were all amazing....very friendly, nice, and personable. Love how they interact with guests and make you feel right at home. Never seemed bothered or put out....always said hello, good morning, good evening, etc with a big smile. I hope you have a great trip and enjoy BWI CL :goodvibes.

There's always a chef preparing food in the lounge in the evening.
There is actually a fairly standard set menu, which I should have memorized by now but I do not. They will also bring out any left over mini sandwiches from the afternoon fare. They often have cheese fondue or spinach dip served with left over breads from breakfast, a cold salad or maybe shrimp cocktail. Sometimes a soup or a potato/pepper dish.
Fresh veggies, chips, cheeses, meats, hummus, dips are out at both mid day and evening in one way or another. Usually more at mid day than evening.
Mid day they'll add in an area for building trail mix and mixes of candies. Sometimes a house made jerky.
Beer is served closed, stocked in a fridge. Last week the options changed from our 2 summer stays
Wine is self served, they have at least 6 different types, 3 red, 2, 3 white and a sparkling
They only put each out in the evenings but will get it for you ANYTIME you want it.
They'll have 2 hot dishes at breakfast, oatmeal and a 2nd either polenta, grits, or a feuga (spelling is butchered I'm sure, it's a pasta/cheesey dish of some sort)
They'll always have fresh fruit, lox, bagels, breads, croissants, eggs (boiled or deviled).
They have a custom made omelette bar on Sunday mornings, along with mimosa fixings and a bloody mary bar
Desserts are the one service we often skip but when we've done it they have the usual stuff, mini brownies, mini rice krispy treats, mini tarts, mini key lime tarts, cookies, mini mickey chocolate mouse on oreo, that type of fare. Never been anything exciting. The usual cordials.

Here are some of the pictures I took last week at Sugarloaf at GF. I had to take them quickly because people were waiting to actually eat the food. So not my best photography skills but you get the point. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

These were all taken at the cocktail hour. Breakfast was the same every day so I didn't take any pics of that. We did get mickey waffles three times during the trip, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. They were yummy. We also had a special dessert one night of apricot creme brulee that was being served by the chef who created it.

we stayed five nights and I'm pretty sure they had the nuggets four nights and the mac and cheese one night. I tended to eat the nuggets and mac and cheese because the other offerings were a little too gourmet for me. My husband on the other hand loved them.
