Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Wait, WL CL has beer on tap? I'm willing to accept ANY tips to convince DW to stay there (like all princesses, she only sleeps in King Beds, and drinks only Champaign).

Tell DW they have gold dusted cupcakes and she can sip on sparkling wine while watching HEA....this is all true! And have someone serve her mimosas at breakfast, while overlooking the breathtaking WL lobby. I do know there's exactly 1 king bed room on the CL floor. Also as AngiTN noted the beer isn't your standard stuff. They only have craft beers on tap, bottled too. They don't have anything "normal". Although, I did see them bring out two Miller lites for someone...so there's hope @GADisneyDad14 . haha!

We stayed club level at Beach Club last week, and didn't notice a dvd player. I thought club-level rooms have these. Am I mistaken?

Also, what do people think about Boardwalk Inn's club level? We're considering staying there next year.

Same, monitored alcohol when we stayed at BC too. I wish each didn't get to make up their own rules. I'm sure it goes back to dollars. I bet each manager is responsible for their resorts profit or has to allocate the food budget to some degree and they likely found that people take fewer beers because they are open
WINNER, WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!
I absolutely believe that!
I think that's also why you can get bottled water at some CLs and none at others.
At BC CL, a CM adamantly told us that NO CL on property gave out bottled water, and I knew this was absolutely NOT true.
(She's also the CM who told me it was impossible to get Lady and The Tramp's autograph...)
So frustrating!
I also believe that some of them want to give an answer so instead of saying, "I don't know", they will give misinformation.
ETA:
@Shanti
We also did not have a DVD player at BC CL.

The more I read about CR CL, the more excited I become about our upcoming stay in February.
We were unable to book AKL CL for the end of our trip as my understanding is there is no
standard CL rooms that sleep 5, we would have to book 2 separate rooms or a 2 bedroom.
So, we have a 1 bedroom villa, Savanna view in Kidani village. It was dramatically less expensive.
We even added on the dining plan for out AKL stay since we are not going to any parks, just
"doing" the resort. It still was less!
It will be our first AKL stay, I've always wanted to do just a resort stay there, so I'm REALLY looking forward to it!

Kidani villas are wonderful! :cloud9: In the 1-bedroom you’ll have 2 full bathrooms, full kitchen, washer/dryer, and a balcony that runs the full length of your room - accessible from the living room and master bedroom! My one suggestion would be to request lower floor (lobby is on floor 2), as it is better to look out at the animals, rather than looking down at them (if that makes sense!).

I’ll be there in February too, but in a studio!

YES! The cm at BC actually told me I was wrong and none of their properties give unopened beers. I told her we had them at Poly. She told me I was mistaken. Who tells I guest they are wrong. My husband said they did. She told us that if it was true, the cm broke a rule and wasn't supposed to and not to tell anyone that's one of the many reasons I didn't like the BC. Like I'm lying to scam a beer o_O

Thank you for your kind words. The view was wonderful. I enjoy this view more than the TPV - since you get that view in the lounge.

You're welcome! I really appreciate you popping in during your trip with updates/pics, as well as your thorough reviews once your trip was completed :).

I agree, I think the BLV is relaxing, so you get the best of both views with having TPV from the lounge :cloud9:.

I LOVED it!! Had my first stay in June and it was absolutely wonderful! All the great reviews I read were right on. The lounge is a little small compared to other lounges (but still very nice and relaxing), but the food was great and the CL CMs were amazing! All the CMs were very friendly and always willing/ready to help if needed. Everyone's experience/opinion is different and there are some who don't care for it, but I can't say enough good things about BWI CL. I think it's worth a try :goodvibes.

At BC CL, a CM adamantly told us that NO CL on property gave out bottled water, and I knew this was absolutely NOT true.

Definitely not true as we were given bottled water at BWI CL in June. We were even offered extras to put in our room fridge if we wanted ;).

The more I read about CR CL, the more excited I become about our upcoming stay in February.

That's how I got reading about BWI CL. The more great things I read about it, the more I wanted to stay there. CR CL is on my list for that very reason as well. Hope you have a great time in February. Looking forward to hearing about your stay when you return :).

I think AKL is a great resort for a no parks trip! We love AKL and are hoping to try CL sometime. Hope you have a great resort stay :wizard:.

We were also told this at AKL. We love the lodge but didn't enjoy the CL experience due to the attitude of some of the staff. It was such a shame as some of the CL staff were fabulous however we did come into contact with a couple who spoiled the experience. They spoke down to my husband and I and we too felt that they thought we were out to scam a beer. I spoke to a manager who did apologise for the way we'd been spoken to but was still adamant that no properties supplied unopened beer!

The issue of an open beer vs an unopened beer or any alcohol container has to do with the type of liquor license that covers the individual establishments. The official policy is that all containers should be opened and consumed on the premises. No package offerings as a "to go" option.

Our experience has also been quite varied over the years and as noted can be very inconsistent day to day and resort to resort. We have had many CL CMs offer us multi beers in unopened containers to take back to our room. Others would offer 1 opened and 1 closed per adult while the last group insisted that all must be opened before leaving the lounge!

This is very standard that Disney is very inconsistent. Not for lack of having rules or policies but because humans are all different and each interaction is often unique. As a friendly reminder; we always use the question, when is the 3 PM parade? It still makes the family laugh...

I didn't love the policy of giving unopened beers and I understand that each resort runs differently. My biggest issue is how they spoke to me and insinuating that I was lying. Disney is the most inconsistent place and if we know it. Staff must too. They could have said each resort has their own guidelines instead of implying I made it up. My husband actually agreed with me and that doesn't happen often!

Did this female CM happen to have 2 initials as her name?? I ask because we had some issues with a female CM at BC CL who was monitoring/serving the alcohol. She also sat at a desk at times. We actually just returned from the BC and we stayed in a regular/non-CL room this time, and DH actually mentioned at least we wouldn't have to deal with the lady CM in the CL - lol. Don't get me wrong, we love the BC CL, but that one CM is just not very nice or helpful.

No clue! It was a year ago but was definitely a female. We had horrible service over all when we stayed there.

Oh, ok lol. I was sort of reading this thread backwards and caught your comment. We've stayed there a lot and have always had good service/CM's - that lady CM was an exception for us.

Our service was so bad it was a one and done for us! I was really looking forward to it too. If we ever stay in the Epcot area again we will stay BWI.

Awe, sorry! I think I do remember reading about your stay back when you went. I probably even had a "conversation" with you about it :). We've never really had a one and done resort, but I do have a couple that are at the bottom of my list - lol.

We once stayed at a CL resort - I don't remember which one - and we asked to borrow a DVD player and they gave us one and hooked it up. Our last few stays the rooms had them.

We love the BWI CL - IMO the CMs are the tops - plus the appetizers are wonderful. I would definitely give it a try.

Actually there was bottled water in the CR Tower lounge refrigerator 2 of the days we were there last week.

There actually is a 1 bedroom Savanna suite at the AKL CL that does allow 6 but it is always booked. We tried to get that room but it was booked.

Enjoy AKL - we love eating Boma for breakfast and Sanaa for lunch or dinner - so now you can enjoy all their delicious restaurants.

We feel that way about the BC - except we gave it a second and third chance. After the last time at the BC about 3 years ago - we said we will go to places that we are not made to feel like we are annoying CMs. BWI is definitely our favorite Epcot CL resort.

Do they also offer DVDs to rent, or must you bring your own?

Funny we also stayed at the BC Club once, and only once, because the service was pretty poor. We were in one of the deluxes off the Club floor, and every time we went to the club the CMs at the desk not only didn’t say hello, but they looked at us like we didn’t belong there. It was very off-putting.

We were thinking of finally staying there again next spring, but things got moved around and now we’re staying at the YC Club at the end of next year instead.

There was one in our CR room. Someone left a disc in it, Frozen. DH accidentally turned it on when he sat something in front of it. The Demi Lovato version of Let it Go started to play and we couldn't figure out how to turn it off
