Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I'm with ya Sistah!
Hate the clown pool. I would absolutely LOVE staying at BWI, if only that creepy pool weren't there. I spend far too much time at the pool to really be able to get past that.
But, there are many other fish (resorts) in the sea.
I agree with you about the creepy clown pool...especially since the eyes glow at night:scared1:! But we love the CL there so much that we have found BWI to be a great winter resort since temperatures are perfect for walking to parks and enjoying the BW activities (magicians, etc) but too cold to swim. The clown pool is pretty far from the CL rooms anyway, but the quiet pool and hot tub are really nice! I will be there this weekend, and I am really looking forward to it...but I will not be going to the clown pool:rotfl:! We did try it once when we did a split stay last summer, but I wasn’t impressed anyway because there wasn’t a zero entry. The slide was actually pretty fun, but I’ll be sticking with monorail resorts for summer probably unless it’s a split stay.

Yeah, that's my main question....why kill yourself on day 1? I assume that you'll be up very early this morning, if you land @ 910. IMO, it just wouldn't be worth it. However, only you know yourself and your kids so I think it's more up to you and what you can handle. I also don't see any time added in for meals. And I think your park to park timeline is too close together. Also I would flip EP and AK only because you want to be 100% sure that you can ride FOP. You'll probably be okay but what if you're delayed, I just wouldn't take that risk. TT and Soarin are almost always available the day before so if you miss those, they're easy to get back. FOP....not so much

Good point on swapping AK and EP. I can book Soarin and TT first... Then regulars at DHS... Then FOP.
I know we are nuts. And I really don't think we will make it for HEA. The boys are really into doing this so I think we will give it a shot.

Oh my, I had no idea about the glowing eyes - I'd definitely scar her! Luckily we know we love YC/BC as a resort, just hoping we get good service!

SAB is definitely the best pool, and as others have stated before, if you are nice to the CMs, most of them will be nice back...through good service! We’ve honestly never had a bad CL experience!

In case this is helpful to others, I have updated the CL Extra FP+ Trial Program info I posted several pages back as some things have changed or we have more clarity on certain topics. Below is the latest. It’s long (sorry!) but there are a lot of details with this program.

:thanks:

That was so helpful! Especially the description of your call to DSS and the info about your touring style and how that might fit in with this option. We are a little under 90 days and had been considering adding this for the Fri/Sat/Sun of our visit.

Here are the issues for me:
(1) It's not integrated into MDE. Sorting out plans (and possibly re-sorting and re-sorting and re-sorting) with a cast member involved is probably the biggest deal-breaker for me. (Unless I'm misunderstanding? Do all six FP's show up and allow you to reshuffle in MDE *after* you initially book them with a DSS cast member??)
(2) We're annual pass holders -- out of state, but still, we know we'll be able to go back. I'm not going to turn down a FP here or there if one came my way on-the-fly, but advance-planning six hours of FP windows into ADR's (or hoped-for dining plans) -and- nighttime fireworks/evening show plans -and- moving around WDW -and- getting value from the resort and lounge?? That is going to be tricky.
(3) What *would* work for us is the opportunity buy into just the reserved seating for nighttime shows/fireworks without the dessert buffet. We do the dessert buffets when it works for us (maybe once a trip?) but we're doing it for the viewing not the buffet.

Thank you again for making that call to DSS and for sharing the info here - and thanks to others who also added their experiences.

So if you upgrade to the $50/day is there anything MAKING you book the 3 fps i.e. will your regular 3 FP not work if you don't book the 3 extras? You could have the nice viewing for fireworks without having to eat low quality sugar laden treats. The parties are more than $50pp. Win, win!

OMG, wasn't that AHHH-MAZING!!!
Phantom is still my favorite (sentimental reasons) but HOLY COW, Hamilton blew me away!
We are actually going in February during school break. Agree with you on Phantom though, saw that in London when I was in college (so just last year). The girls are spoiled this year, Hamilton in Feb and then WL CL and BC CL in April. It was a heavy price I paid for that Sarcasm Dictionary.

I pretty much agree with everything you said. We have similar outlooks and touring styles.

As to #1, the three "Extra FPs" always have to be booked via DSS/talking to a CM. You can only change/modify these later via DSS/talking to a CM. From a strategy perspective, these should be the most 'locked in' of your plans and ones you're not likely to change (unless you just enjoy calling DSS).

You can also book your three "Regular FPs" with DSS, you are then able to change/modify them yourself in MDX as you normally can. You don't 'have' to book your three Regular FP's then, but might as well since availability is nearly unlimited if you're well before your 60 day mark.

Hope that helps!

We are going to see Hamilton in NY at the end of March. It was my 11 year old son's surprise Christmas gift. My husband helped because for my birthday last year he had saved every 10 dollar bill (all year with the Hamilton, yes) that he received in change all year and gifted it to me to get us tickets.

That is SO sweet! I live about an hour away and can't remember the last play I saw

Congratulations to Gadisneydad on being a moderator.

Thanks guys, appreciate the notes! For full clarity, I'm a TPAS (Theme Parks & Strategies) moderator, not Resorts, but I'll still be around here! ;)

(Wish me luck!) :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes
Now is probably not a good time to tell you that next week Disney is announcing that dogs can go on all rides. Lol. Good luck as moderator, you are an amazing source of information and always helpful.
