Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

EEEEK. 12 more days. And furthermore, it just hit me that this is the last trip where we don't have to pay for DS!!

Oh well, we got in 3 good "free" trips for him though.

Next year - we will be paying for the family of five :p

Speaking of next year -- I think we've actually decided on BWI CL....clown pool and all :faint:
Im finally trying BWI cl too. My trip for CP so watch for pix in December :)

We stayed in 4322 in May 2017. I uploaded a video of the room, and you can see at the end what the view from the room is like..

Great video, thanks so much! :goodvibes

That is exactly the view I like! Have stayed standard RPC and loved our view of the beach pool/lagoon with the Poly in the distance :cloud9:.

Hope you had a great trip! Your DD is adorable :cutie:

Mickeynut, just call or email DSS with your request. Also to consider , rooms on the right face VGF and Poly. Rooms on top face the courtyard pool if either is preferred.

Thanks, trish :).

Also thanks for the heads up on which rooms face what....that was going to be my next question ;).

For some reason I thought you had tried BWI CL, not sure where I got that....lol. I'm sure you'll enjoy it as I'm always reading great things about it. Have a great trip. Looking forward to your review/pics :wizard:.

Whew...I just went back and read through a very large (almost embarrassing) number of pages on this thread! It's been my nighttime reading for a number of days :goodvibes

I've had fun reading all the trip reports and CL reviews. And, I feel really confident that we've made the right choice for us for summer 2018. We finally settled on Poly CL TPV and we are super excited. My DH is a CM so we stay using the 50% discount for which we are so, so grateful.

I also want to say that @GADisneyDad14 seems wicked cool :thumbsup2 It's nice when someone with such a wealth of information is willing to answer so many questions and post so many pictures!

I will be following along for the next 354 days!

In fact, I already have a question. We always do a room-only reservation that is cancelable up to 5 days prior to check-in. I love this flexibility because it gives me a little peace of mind that if something huge came up we could cancel without penalty. I know you can do online check-in 60 days prior to your check-in date. I like the idea of online check-in, especially the ability to put down a cc and not look at your balance the instant you check in. My question is...does the online check-in affect the 5 day cancel policy at all? For example, if I check-in online 10 days prior to our trip and then something big came up and we had to cancel...would we lose any $ because we already checked in?

As @GADisneyDad14 would have replied if I had let him time to :wave2:, online check-in does in no way change the rules of modification/cancellation of your rate! You can do online check-in anytime you want and still cancel at a 5 days window if your reservation allows it. I would recommend do online check-in because this means you're going to do less paperwork at the reception, which is Disney time you can spend somewhere else!

Hi, all! My trip report is at https://www.disboards.com/threads/austin-family-blowout-aug-2017-in-progress-now.3622185/ and will feature Poly CL and YC CL notes. I am a bit behind and will post when I can. Here is a quick overall of my observations on Poly CL:

Most of the staff were amazing. One or two were lackluster, but overall the staff was excellent. We absolutely loved taking the resort boat to MK. All the resort boat captains were friendly and made us laugh. Baggage check at the boat exit was done quickly and professionally. The security officers doing the baggage checks were extremely friendly.

There were some down sides. Some of the evening CL desk staff were not near as good as the day staff. We were not able to connect to the internet so DH went down on the first evening we were there and asked about it. He was told they were "having issues." Well, in the morning we were still not able to connect, so I asked the day staff. The gentleman I spoke to apologized and admitted there were some dead spots in the building and our room, although convenient, was in one of those spots. He suggested we try the lounge. Why couldn't the evening staff tell us this?

Overall, we loved the Poly. 8.5/10

Has anyone stayed club level at the Yacht Club recently? I was wondering what their food offerings were in the afternoon? We stayed CL at the Poly last month and in the afternoons they had lettuce wraps with chicken or shrimp. When we've stayed at other CL's all we ever had in the afternoon were goldfish crackers and gummy bears. Just wondering if all CL's now have something more substantial in the afternoon than crackers & gummies. Considering YC CL for our next stay but not if it's not comparable to the Poly CL.

I stayed at the YC CL Aug 4-7. They did not have much during the afternoon snacks. There was breadsticks and hummus, chips, crudité and dip, snack mix, yogurt pretzels, and their stormalong breeze punch (which they only served during the afternoon snacks, btw. Would like to have had this in the evening, too.) They also had iced tea, lemonade, and sodas. No beer.

We were there in mid May. The afternoons did not have anything like that. Just the snacks: chips & dip, cookies, crudités, candy, pretzels etc. Not much different from other years.

We recently booked a last minute Food and Wine trip for opening weekend... and are staying at BWI Standard View-CL for it! (We have stayed at both Yacht and Beach's CL, but this will be our first time at BWI's club.) Any recent stays at the Innkeeper's Club?

Checking in this Saturday. What rooms are the dead wi fi ones? My entire family uses wifi for more devices than I care to admit, I would be pretty upset in this case! We luckily haven't had a problem in any of our previous rooms.

Sorry it took so long to reply, I had to work all weekend. (Got to pay for these trips!) You probably know the YC is just finishing up a refurb. If you haven't seen the new rooms, check out page 1 of the Y & B thread, Dee has some links to pictures there. I have only stayed in a standard view once, we usuallly stay waterview. The standard views look over the front entrance. From what I know there are a few standard view rooms with really bad views. They are all the way down at he end of the floor. So I think requesting a room close to the lounge would help avoid those room.s

The lounge & club desks are right off the elevators, so close to lounge is also close to them. The renovated rooms have hardwood look laminate floors, no carpets. Some of the rooms have only a shower, no tub. So if you are traveling with your kids & need a tub, you might want to request that too. The new closets have a lot of storage room & the safe is the same size as the 1 we had at GF.

The lounge does close between service times & at night. So no place to hang out after hours if that is important to you. I really was impressed with the food offerings in May. For quite a few years, the appetizers were things like quesidillas & there fried pastry things. In May, we had beef & potatoes, pulled pork & polenta, salmon with wild grains & chicken skewers. Some nights there were chicken nuggets & mini pigs in the blanket that kids would like. Cold offerings included a broccoli slaw, caprese salad & mushroom stuffed phyllo cups. That's just what I remembered off the top of my head. I did post most nights offerings so I can see if I can find more. Cold meats (turkey, roast beef, salmon) were added at breakfast as I know most of the lounges have added those too. And the desserts were also much better. Every night there were 2 different mini cupcakes, 2 bar type desserts like lemon bars, a pudding like cup (like panda cota) 2 or 3 different cookies & brownies. Most nights they had some cupcakes that were frosted & had 4 different mini sprinkles with them so kids could decorate their own.

We don't drink so I can't comment on the adult offerings. But they do have a lemonade, unsweetened iced tea (with liquid syrup available) & a yummy specialty juice. Not positive about the name, something to fit the theme of course, something like Seabreeze maybe? Not positive on the name but it was refreshing & I mixed it with the lemonade a few times too. Very good!

And of course, can't beat the pool & the walk to Epcot. The boat to the Studios is better than a bus. And the bus stops at YC first, so you can usually get a seat on the way to anywhere. Hope that helps!

We are staying at CBR with our DS & DDIL in December. I'm gonna miss YC sooo much. But I fully intend to book 2 trips for next year on bouncebacks while we're there. Enjoy!!

:thanks::thanks::thanks::thanks:

Really appreciate the detail! I need to wrap my ahead around this trip [ETA 'a'] bit more... I had all but given up on Columbus Day weekend because availability has been so bad... not just CL, but any resort. I've been during plenty heavy crowd times but this one actually has me a bit :crowded:.

I have ignored Epcot a bit too much in my recent travels so really looking forward to the walkability factor and getting more experience with an Epcot area resort.

Thank you again!

I think Poly CL TPV is a great choice....also can't beat a 50% discount! Enjoy the planning :wizard:.

Sorry about the few not-so-great CL CMs, but glad everything else has been great overall :goodvibes.

I can't help with BWI CL, but wanted to say I hope you have a great trip :).

Once again, I really think you should be more excited about your trip. :lmao:

Our July Poly trip was the last one with our "free" DD as well. We got in four trips with her.... the last two I was really feeling like I was "winning" against Disney because she was totally old enough to really "get" a lot of rides and had tons of fun. She was even tall enough to ride 7DMT the last trip.

I've been living the high life with things like EMM and dessert parties for only 3.... but those days are over now!:sad::sad:

I know that pales in comparison to paying for five!

Hope you have a great trip!

That room looks :cloud9: to me. WOW! Thanks for the video. I didn't follow the discussion above, is that a bookable RPC room category? (I can't keep track of some of the RPC room categories, sorry!).

Lol, thanks for the kind words! This thread was so incredibly helpful when I first caught the CL bug. Once I realized I was making bigger $$ choices by staying CL, I felt the need to do more research to make sure I was making semi-educated and half-way reasonable decisions with my vacation dollars. This thread is so helpful in that regard, although a bit tough to keep up because things change often.

Love your choice in CL/room BTW, good work! I also like that time of year.... hot, but manageable crowds, and cheaper resort rates.

Also, that CM CL discount is amazing (so jealous, if I'm being honest!).

Thanks again! Only 354 days, but who is counting, right? :yay::yay::yay:
