Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Evening Appetizers and desserts at the AKL cl.

Did you notice any kid friendly items during the evening offerings? Seems like I remember a few months ago someone posted there were some kid friendly items. We did not have any during our November stay. Hoping for our May stay.

@trishadono Thanks for the pics! We were excited to be going in 24 days and after seeing these we are even more so! It has been a few years since we stayed AKL and it is my daughter's favorite resort. It will be a great place to celebrate her 21st birthday.

Hope everyone has a great trip and your DD has fun celebrating her 21st birthday :wizard:.

Hey MickeyNut...:wave2:

Thanks for the detailed description! Now I am confused about how to book either CL. I just checked a random date and the WDW site only gives “Atrium Club Level” rooms and “Club Level Suites", are the CL suites Tower Club? I would imagine only suites are available because regular rooms are sold out?

If you book a suite that isn't garden wing, it will be tower club.

They had the nesquick out most of the time which was nice and apple juice too.

For evenings they alternated cut up uncrustables with the turkey and cheese rollups.

I have seen both of those at other resorts.

Oh they had that huge TV which played movies most nights. I mean legit nice movies. Not the usual cartoon ones. (many grownups enjoyed this, me too).

In the morning it usually had the resort loop so people could plan their day. ( i like that)

There was also the kids tv. That area also had lots of bench seating for the tables which families seemed to enjoy.

You can book a Tower Club suite online. It lists them as "club level," not "Atrium Club." If you want to book one of the 4 standard rooms on 14, you have to call and specify. Keep in mind the maximum capacity for a King room on 14 is 2 — there is no pull-out sofa. The maximum capacity of a double Queen room up there is 4 for the same reason.

Hi everyone!!

I'm trying to book for mid may and looking for a little more info on YC than I can seem to find...

Does anyone know if the CL rooms would be renovated by then?

Any YC CL reviews from recent stays would be lovely as well! We have only stayed CL at BC and Poly and are wondering what other locations are like!

Hi everyone, another new member here.

I just booked an Easter trip April 11-17. We were looking for something close to MK and based on price/availability it was between Contemporary Atrium club room and the WL Deluxe Club Room. We ended up going with Contemporary based on location since we have a 2, 4 and 6 year olds coming. I am reading through these posts though wondering if I should have got the dining plan or not based on the food at the lounge. I just got the quick service plan. Do others get the plan or just pay normally?

Also, if you had 3 kids, would you take the bigger room at WL? Or would you pick the Theme Park view Atrium Club level?

My wife is concerned with the trip from WL to MK. Obviously with CR we have the easiest trip to MK.

We've stayed CR but not CL and love the walk to MK and the TPV room is incredible. As for dining plan, if you're going to be at the park every day the CL probably doesnt make sense as you're not at the resort to enjoy the amenities of CL. We're currently booked at the Poly CL TPV and also have the deluxe dining plan as we'll be splitting our stay between the parks and pool days at the resort.

So in summary I would take TPV over CL if you'll be at the parks more often than the resort.

I can elaborate more on this later but just have a few minutes here. Just one person's opinion mind you, but my advice would be:

1) Stick with the CR Atrium Club TPV room. I've stayed both resorts/room types you describe in the last six months so my memories are pretty fresh. You are traveling during a busy time and have three little ones in tow. I think you should focus on convenience, especially transportation convenience. This also applies to CL lounge convenience. The CR is just a far better setup from room to lounge vs. the Deluxe Rooms at WL (average walk time: 2 minutes, 40 seconds). For that CR gets my vote. Yes, the CR room will be smaller than a WL Deluxe Room, but you're not talking about a huge difference in square footage or livability. From a pure room functionality perspective, for our family of four I'd rather be in a CR Atrium standard room ANY DAY over a WL Deluxe Room. The layout of the WL Deluxe Room just wasn't our favorite.

2) Don't do the dining plan, just pay out of pocket. Some people do the dining plan and CL and love it, for us it would be way overkill. But, a lot of this depends on your touring and eating style. We tend to hang around the resort and aren't constantly in the parks, so we can get good mileage from the various lounge services. Is this your first time doing a dining plan? If so, I think my advice would be to not do it and evaluate after the trip whether it makes sense for future trips.

Sorry for the short post, again, happy to be more specific later. Happy Planning!

Thanks for the reply. This really helped. This is our first trip with our family. From everything I have read, with 2,4 and 6 year old, we aren't going to get a full park day out of them. My guess is we would to CL breakfast then lunch at the park and come back around dinner time. My three really don't sit super well at dinner anyhow.

With kids that age, I would vote CR club level...hands down! We went to CR CL in November with DD8 & DS3 and the easy walk to MK was perfect! Not dealing with boats, buses or monorails for that park was so nice. We had booked Standard view and having the lounge was nice for grabbing a drink after the parks. We had the regular dining plan and we weren't disappointed. We took advantage of the lounge for breakfast, snacks & drinks...we didn't get back for evening apps but still thought it was worthwhile.

That pretty much describes a typical day for us. We've been taking DS since 3 (now 6) and now DD 2 a couple of times as well - so we're in that nap zone. Usually eat breakfast in the lounge, rope drop a park, eat a larger lunch out, back for a nap or some downtime, then afternoon in the pool, evening apps, and maybe back out to a park later. We often find evening apps are enough to satisfy kids/adults for dinner, but not always - sort of depends on how much we've snacked during the day!

We don't always follow that plan... we'll do some charachter meals and other ADRs along the way occasionally.

Again, happy planning!

Ok, lets throw one more wrench into this.

I can get GF Outer Bldg - Standard Room-Club Level Access for $200 less than the CR CL TPV.

ORRRR

I can get GF Main Bldg - Theme Park View - Club Level but that would actually be quite a bit more (25%)

How far is the club from The GF rooms vs the club from the CR rooms? Like for breakfast I could see myself grabbing a few pastries or bagels for the kids while we get ready to go.

I'd stick with CR CL TPV. We loved our regular TPV room. Our odd # room allowed DH and I to recline in bed, sipping a beverage, while watching the fireworks. We did this later in the week, when the kids were too exhausted to stay up for the evening entertainment. GF outer building doesn't have the convenience of CR.

Thanks. Really thinking about it. We picked the CR TPV because of the view and the location. That's what we really value. I think we should stick with it.

We've never stayed at the CR, but I agree with this. Being within walking distance (especially with little ones) is hard to beat ;).

This is just my opinion, but I wouldn't change from CR TPV CL to GF SL (outer building CL) for $200. I've stayed both GF RPC (main building CL) and GF SL and I wasn't impressed with SL. The lounge was small and chaotic and since it's located in the center of the lobby as you enter the SL building, there are no windows/views. RPC, on the other hand, is amazing (IMO). The lounge is spacious with beautiful views of the grounds. We didn't have a TPV in RPC so I can't answer as to how far from the lounge those rooms are, but hopefully others will be able to help :flower3:.

Thanks. Really thinking about it. We picked the CR TPV because of the view and the location. That's what we really value. I think we should stick with it.

If view is a priority, I would stick with CR. As I stated in my post above, I think RPC is amazing, but you won't get the same great view from there as you will from the CR. Hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

I also have stayed at both. Sl at GF is lovely. The lounge is easy to access by elevator and the building has a great location. However seeing the castle from the room all day is just such a lovely perk.

It is fun to peek over the rail in the hall and watch the hustle and bustle below then dash through your room and see MK right in front of you. It really is a fun place to be.

I've been keeping an eye out for updates on the rehab because we're there in May. In addition to checking here, the Yacht and Beach Club thread is a good one to check for information. The last update I read about a week ago is the rehab is in full swing and both wings around the gazebo upper floor rooms are being worked on.

At the end of the day, among the monorail resorts and the monorail resort CL's, you really can't go wrong with any of them and they all share a lot of similarities in terms of tranportation convenience, lounge convenience, etc. There are subtle differences of course, but I'd happily stay at all of them for different reasons.

As to your question, distance from room to lounge in the GF main building (RPC, Royal Palm Club) or outer building (SL, Sugar Loaf) is generally the same as what you'll have at Atrium, roughly speaking. At Atrium all rooms are on the same floor as the lounge. At RPC or SL, you could be on a different floor than the lounge, but none of these particular buildings are that big in terms of walking distance. I would consider this a push between all three. But there is something nice about Atrium being all on one floor, don't have to worry about elevators or stairs, etc.

View wise, I'd opt for CR TPV over RPC TPV rooms. One, RPC is usually very expensive, as you have noted. Two, I think the GF view corridor is inferior... you're looking between two buildings at a small portion of the lake towards the MK. The views from CR are far more expansive, you can pretty much see the entire monorail loop, 7 seas lagoon, the park, etc.

Where GF wins for me over CR is in the pools. Two large pools, both with bars, plus the kid's splash area. The CR pool situation is OK, it's just not as good a places like GF or Poly.

GF feels more like a "vacation" to me. CR feels more like I'm there to do Disney. Both are great feelings!
