Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I just have to say YAY to this! Every time I hear of someone booking my favorite type of room in WDW, it makes me smile :sunny:.
We also love 1st floor, but I think most of those rooms are now LV. Definitely not the same type of view as 3rd floor TPV.

I can't wait!:yay:

Maybe we will run into you! My son and I will be at the Poly GV CL from Jan. 29- Feb. 2. We will be at the BWI deluxe CL from Dec. 4- Dec. 10 so I couldn't rationalize a TPV room at the Poly a month later. Though I did try!:)

I certainly understand that! I love BWI CL too. How nice to have back to back trips!!:thumbsup2

Do you all tend to email or call your room requests to the IPO in addition to online check in? I haven't checked in yet but we are getting close, but my Dad has some mobility issues so I wanted stress being close to the elevator/lounge, since he is not leaving the resort. We are staying Yacht club for just two nights. I guess I am worried because we get in very late at night and think I'll be left with a "leftover" room! (last time I stayed YC with my daughter we were almost at the end of the hall, fine for us but it was just too far for my Dad for sure).

We are staying club level at AKL and the service at the Kilimanjaro Club has been fantastic so far. The sangria is AMAZING, we has a savanna view room, and the staff has been very friendly. The only blip so far has been waiting quite a while after our reservation time for lunch today at Sanaa.

I would probably call (just my preference), but I think either way would be equally effective :).

Trish...
So sorry for your loss. I lost my dad two years ago and it's still hard.

Me too Oct. 10, 2014...not quite 2 years but I miss him every single day. I am a "Daddy's girl" and there has not been a day that I haven't missed him so much. I had 5 quilts made from his shirts (one for Mom, me and 3 brothers). Looking at it makes me sad but it also makes me happy remembering each shirt on it.

The person that made them for me put pieces of all his shirts on each quilt but each quilt has a different design.

So sorry for your loss.

Glad your having a good time. We check in in 2 weeks time. Did you make any room requests for club? And did you do the online checkin

Hope you have a great rest of your holiday.

Great pics and thank you for posting! I'm sorry it was too noisy to relax on your balcony.

I'm interested in the food offerings and what you thought of them. There are conflicting recent reports on the offerings. We went during last Easter while cutbacks were going on but we still felt like the food was fabulous, and I read that supposedly the food is back to the old standards so even better than we experienced. What did you think? Thanks!

It was a bummer but overall a small problem to have in the "grand" scheme of things, lol.

This was our first time staying RPC but my experience with the food was very positive. In the morning there were little spinach croissants (my fave!), oatmeal, deli meats, cheeses, Danishes, a daily muffin, and deviled eggs prepared a little differently each day. Then juices and coffee, etc. There was also bread and a toaster - I never made it over to that table, my plate was always full by then haha! The juices were blah - orange and then a plain cranberry. The juice they have by the concierge is way better (cranberry mixed with something I can't remember) so we would grab that on the way past the desks.

Lunch snack time had me loading up my plate again! Lots of different dips - spinach artichoke, ranch, and another one I'm blanking on. Cherry tomatoes and blanched broccoli and other crudités. Mini ciabatta rolls and crackers - all very good things to have for little munchies!

Tea time there were scones and cream, but I binged on the jam tarts because I looooove jam tarts and rarely get them!

Never made it to dinner/dessert time so I can't speak to those - sorry o_O

I ran up there when I woke up about 3 am dying of dehydration (too much wine and not enough water at Victoria & Albert's) - I ran up the stairs to the fourth floor (yes in my pj's because it was 3 am and they are a matchy long sleeve and pant set that are more formal than what most people wear to the parks, lol). The fridges were both open and somewhat stocked - so you can grab late night sodas, etc if you're thirsty!

I have historically e-mailed my requests to IPO and have not done online check-in - mainly just old fashioned I guess and prefer the actual check-in experience, CM interaction, etc. For my trip a few weeks ago at CR I had e-mailed my requests ahead of time AND did online check in a few weeks before just because I wanted to try it. In that circumstance, I received the room ready text around 4pm when I got off the plane. I liked knowing my room number in advance so I could do a quick map check to see if I liked the room location or needed to be gearing up for a "conversation" when I arrived.

FYI, I believe Disney actually assigns rooms around 5 days out, not the day of, so your arrival time (under normal circumstances) shouldn't necessarily impact your original room assignment. I'm sure there are exceptions to this but at least I think that's how it works.

I don't know if you requested an accessible room or not, but I do know that there is one very close to the lounge and elevators that I stayed in once before. If you didn't, I would definitely e-mail IPO with your requests even if you complete the online check-in. I personally do both. On the online check-in, I request close to the elevator and in my e-mail I request close the lounge and elevator.

I did not because I want a bathtub and not a roll in shower for my littles. Plus my Dad is mobile, but he has ankle problems and just can't walk long distances. Thank you for both of your pieces of advice. I think I will email them and still do online check in!

Thank you! Yes, I am sure you are right, I was worried about other people complaining about their room being far away on check in and moving into "our" room, ha ha. Paranoia probably.

Hey guys!

Probably a silly question but are the Poly villas Club Level accessible? I have a friend looking at them. Thanks!

If you check the accessible room box you can search. I looked at Poly villas just now. I didn't note CL as an option there, but I could be wrong.
I did see some regular accessible rooms. There are a variety of options, not just roll in shower rooms.

I think my dates were too buried in my booking-CL-celebration post! We're BWI CL Jan. 4-9 for Marathon Weekend!

HEY THERE STRANGER!!! I got you added! :D For some reason I never get email notifications for quoted posts anymore. So I only get them if you PM me. I probably missed it.

I'm working on a trip for myself soon, even though I was there in August it feels like it was a lifetime ago! I was hoping to squeeze in a trip for F&W but I'm going to NYC tomorrow and now I'm not sure I can get down to WDW before the end of the month. So many travel dreams, so little time! :cloud9:

I really appreciate you posting. I am considering a split stay next year and love AKL Cl. Good to know it's still fantastic! :flower:

Hello Travel Girl!! Have so much fun in NYC! Love this time of year. Favorite hotel = Bryant Park Hotel. Love it. Will find excuse to return soon, but travel for college visits and a wedding have replaced NYC this fall.

In other travel news, we were talking about Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch in Colorado a while back. Happy to report it was absolutely fantastic. Club lounge was wonderful - so relaxing and convenient with an amazing array of food at most times of day. Definitely among my favorite hotels!

Back to Disney . . . thrilled to be going back to BWI CL! I did look into Four Seasons based on your recommendation, but concerned about race weekend transportation and not enough space at a reasonable cost for a family of 5. :( My boys love the ipad ordering system as much as yours do. "Mom, my earplugs and body pillow will be arriving at 12:08am!" said our youngest son at FS in Canada last NYE.

Ooooo I love Colorado! I lived in Aspen for a year when I graduated from college. Best year of my life! Also we lived in Boulder for a year, another amazing adventure. I'd love to get back there again soon. It's been too long.

Did I tell you I quit the travel biz? I'm back to teaching again. Much less chaotic! :D

I'm going to New York Comic Con so I had to choose a hotel near Javits and MSG. Nothing fancy, but the price tag is making CL look cheap! :crazy2: They jack the prices up for all the suckers coming into town like me. LOL

I think you made the right choice, nothing is as important race weekend as location. Let me NOT tell you about the year we did AKL that weekend. Not good at all! I learned my lesson.

I definitely want to get back to the FS again though. That view was to die for!!! :cloud9:

Random post but just wanted to say I hope any of you that booked around this time are doing OK with your travel plans. DS is on Fall Break Thur-Fri and off Columbus Day, and if it weren't for the almost zero availability when I was searching back in August, we would almost certainly have a trip planned for right now. I know it's the risk we all take for booking in late summer/early fall (and why I buy trip insurance), but still.... Hope everyone stays safe.
