Yes the wine was still on the rolling cart. The CM's were standing behind the cart everytime I walked in the lounge even if it wasn't crowded. At times, I noticed that after he poured the wine for someone and if no one was waiting he would leave the cart but as soon as someone would walk over to the cart he would walk quickly back to the cart to pour the wine. One lady went to pour her own and he quickly came across the room and grabbed the wine bottle and poured it for her. He said you can get your own if no one is here but I'll do it now.

In my personal opinion, I think too much of a deal was made regarding pouring the wine. To me, if the CM was there to pour it for a guest fine, but to dart across the room seemed to me a bit much.

I would say the lounge was average as far as being busy. It would ebb and flow. Overall, I enjoy BWI club level. I certainly agree that the CM's that work there are very engaging with the guests. I haven't noticed this with some of my other club level stays at different resorts.

5 phone calls later and my concerns were resolved. Not entirely happily but mostly. I really hate when the manager tells me that they will use the thing that they screwed up on our reservation as a training lesson. Gee, thanks, I think...

Still, looking forward to our trip and rinsing the sour taste out of my mouth with some wine when I get there.

So exciting! And I'm jealous even though I just got back! I think I could go to Poly CL once a month and not get tired of it. We did the Twilight Feast (or whatever it's called -- the Ohana dinner delivery) and it was pretty good. I didn't have a dinner booked there in advance, so we opted for this. Have a great time, as I'm sure you will, and can't wait to hear about it!

We've done the 'Ohana feast twice and love the freedom it gives you. The first time was CL and I had three college girls with me. I ordered it for three and we had tons of food, enough leftovers for a midnight snack. The second time it was just myself and my youngest (19year old) and I ordered one adult and one childs portion. The server told me that he loaded us up (and he did) we still had leftovers for when we returned from the park that evening.

I've learned to not rely on IPO's to book anything for me. I've had very little success with any of them, regardless of which hotel it was. If it's something I want I do it myself. I actually had a CM get a little snippy with me at Innkeepers Club when I asked him to remove a double valet charge off of my bill as we were checking out. He "did it" finally in the system but I still haven't seen it reflected on my card two weeks later

I heard that alcohol at Yacht club club level was served from a cart, rather than being in fridges. How does that work? Kinda just expected to be able to help ourselves.....

It is now served from a counter area. The CM's poured it for you, they also came around to the tables and refilled glasses.

On what floors are they located? What kind of views do they have? Do they all have a balcony?

I don't think there are standard king CL rooms, they are deluxe king rooms. The rooms on the second floor have balconies. They are a bit inconvenient, but it is very quiet on that floor. You have to take the elevator to the 3rd or 4th floor then walk down the hall to the back elevator and take that down to the 2nd floor. The turret rooms are on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th floor. There are only 6 of them...three have a castle view as well as the lagoon and Poly...the other three face the monorail. They do not have a balcony.

@bookluvingbabe, just out of curiosity, how were they able to fix your issue at the end?

They arranged seats for us on an Illuminations cruise. We had been trying for the Star Wars dessert party.

As it turns out, my husband decided that he doesn't really want to do the dessert party. So doing a cruise which is less crowded, less standing, should work out for us.

Edited to add-- And I went ahead and booked the Star Wars dessert party for a different night for just me and DS.

There are two standard kings in RPC 4329 and 4429. They are smaller than a standard room. I would not want one of these rooms simply due to the size of the room. We stayed in one for one night when we had to move rooms due to a air conditioning issue in our room. If I wanted a king bed I would book a deluxe King as they are not much more than a standard RPC anyway.

I don't know about SL as I have only stayed there when RPC was closed for renovations.

We had the same thing happen at the BWI CL when we stayed in March. A CM was almost always standing by the wine cart pouring but on one occasion I walked over to the wine cart and the CM was not there to pour so I started to pour my own when a CM nearly ran to me and took the bottle away and poured it. It was the only time I have ever felt uncomfortable at the BWI and when I spoke to other cast members at the BWI I was told that the "management " wanted full control of the wine pouring. Seems really silly to me. The politically correct spin is they are doing it to keep under 21 guests from drinking but it is really just a cost control measure. The hope is that if they do the pouring the guests will feel uncomfortable and not ask for more than a glass or two and the pour will be much smaller than if the guest was pouring themselves.

The CM at the Grand Floridian were great about doing that as well. DH and DS are giving me one night out on my own! If only, I could finally decide where I want to go! I think it is Yachtsman but I'm afraid it will be so hot I won't want to eat the heavy food there.

Wilderness Lodge CL Question--does anyone with recent experience at WL CL wish to share what they thought of it? We have stayed there before, and WL is the absolute favorite resort of my DH and DGS, but I was a little underwhelmed by the WL CL when we were there two years ago. I am hesitant to book there as part of our split stay this December. The first part of our stay is at the BWV.

I am considering booking BWI CL based on the great things I have heard, but the downside to that is that we would remain in the same place by EPCOT, and we truly enjoy the WL at Christmas, love the decorations and the choral groups that sing in the lobby. My questions are:

Any thoughts on WL CL vs. BWI CL?

How has construction affected the CL at WL?

Are my expectations simply too high for service on the CL? I have been blessed to stay at hotels like the Del Coronado and maybe that has skewed me as to what to expect from places like the GF? I want to add that we are the considerate, non-demanding sort of guests, but I do *notice* things and while these *things* might not even be things I am experiencing, it still impacts my impression of the place. For ex: a previous poster said that a CM "grabbed" the wine bottle from a guest. If that is correct, that the CM grabbed the wine bottle, that is a horrible faux pas. The correct approach would have been to approach in a genial manner and ask, "Pardon me, ma'am, may I assist you with the wine?" in a non-confrontational manner.

Once at the WL CL I observed two CL CMs that stood at the railing and hooted and hollered down to another CM in the lobby. (So, yes, down 7 floors.) They were apparently playing some sort of game. This game went on for awhile. It was 9:30 in the evening, and there were guests needing some assistance. Presumably, some may have been sleeping on the floor. Our DGC were, for example. To be balanced, on one trip my DGD developed a low grade temp and my daughter stayed with her in the room for a day and a half until my DGD felt better. The CMs were very sweet about keeping the room fridge stocked with juices and water, crackers and etc.

So it is not my intention to be unkind and whatnot, my question is sincere: Are my expectations (based on above) simply too high for Disney CL? Am I simply too old school? Or as my children like to tease, "too Downton Abbey in a Modern Family world"?
