Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I sent an email for our room request and for a birthday to be added and I got the stock "we got your email" but also got an email back from a CL cm directly, confirming that everything had been noted on our reservation.

Yaahhh, I got mine too now, saying they are also excited for us to come, would note my requests, and while they can't guarantee, will try their best.

I am checking in at WL in a week and got a long phone message today welcoming me to the OFC and explaining included services and what to expect. I was told I would be greeted at the curb and walked up to the OFC and shown around. It was lovely, especially as the polar opposite of the no greeting reduced care levels that have been reported. I'm super excited to be going back to the Lodge.

I heard that alcohol at Yacht club club level was served from a cart, rather than being in fridges. How does that work? Kinda just expected to be able to help ourselves.....

So...

If you had asked IPO to make a reservation for an event that had not opened yet, and the response back was "we don't believe that will be extended but of course, if it does we'll book it for you" and the next day it opens up for your dates, and 48 hours pass and the event still isn't booked by IPO, would your head explode?

And would you believe IPO when they promised you they were checking every day for a cancelation for something incredibly important to you????

And then when you call to ask about it and no one is available to take your call, would you expect a call back the same day?

So, so, so, very anxious about our upcoming trip. I knew I should have switched to a different resort but it was so incredibly important to DS that we return that I said it can't all possibly go wrong again. Famous last words!

I posted this on the GF-board but did not get any answers...maybe someone can answer my questions here:

Can anyone tell me something about the Standard King Club Level Rooms in the Main Building?

On what floors are they located? What kind of views do they have? Do they all have a balcony?

I can't remember what IPO stands for. Concierge desk?

Yes, that's correct. Technically the "Itinerary Planning Office." Although for full clarity, the people that answer e-mails/calls aren't the actual CM's at any given resort CL desk (I'm pretty sure).

I would book it. We had issues with booking PL and Bbb through IPO and I just ended up booking it.
All that mattered to me was it was booked and not how. Good luck and have a great trip.

Hey everyone! :)

Thanks to @Maxie86 we've got all new YC CL pics for page 1!!! :cheer2: Thanks so much for those!!!!

I just booked a trip back to Florida today, didn't think I could squeeze in a second one but luck was on my side! Nic and I heading down the first week of August and staying at the new Sapphire Falls. Hopefully it's nice! :goodvibes
Wow, have a great time at SF. Pls let us know what you think. We are staying at RPR and SF in Oct before moving to AKL.

I just hate the idea that I'm paying all this money for a service that they refuse to provide...

I can't reply to the serving of alcohol at the Yacht Club but we returned from Boardwalk Inn club level this week. This was our third stay at BWI club level and this was the first time that the alcohol (at least the wine) was served by a cast member. I did not attend the evening desserts/cordials presentation but my son said the cast member offered him a second cordial so I assume that was also served. The beer was still self serve from the refrigerator. So, I wouldn't be surprised if Yacht club does this too. I believe this is a cost cutting measure no matter how the resort presents it to the guests. I'm going to do a short trip report in a few days and give my opinions on what I observed.

We did have a nice time at the resort

We got it from Its Tasty Too! She does amazing work and her cakes taste great. My favorite is the chocolate with Reese's cup filling. Best thing her cakes are a fraction of WDW cakes but she has a delivery fee. I think it's $25 but even with that we still paid about half of what we would have paid getting it from WDW. If you want to see pics of cakes that shes done, let me know

Thanks for posting this. I pulled up the website and the cakes look amazing! I'm not the one who asked about cakes, but I would love to see pics of Disney ones if you have any :).

How funny... We were at the Poly CL 7/2-7/5 and didn't get chocolates nor were there any greeters - I looked around before giving up and just going inside. Certainly no one said they missed us. After a very frustrating experience at the main check in desk where they forced us to change right then and there so we could leave our luggage at the curb (we only had two small carry ons - I really don't get why it was a big deal if we kept them for 20 more minutes) they finally walked us to Hawaii. Since they had done everything at the front desk they just waved us towards the lounge stairs and said we could eat if we wanted to and let them know if we needed anything more. I had requested a high level as my only request but we were given ground floor. We DID have many longboards while we were there though, and enjoyed having breakfast right there every day. I think I'd still book CL again, I just wouldn't even bother stopping at the front desk next time unless our MBs don't work at Hawaii.

I'm sorry your check in experience wasn't the best, but glad you enjoyed CL and would book it again :goodvibes.

Hope you get your requests. Have a great trip :wizard:.

IPO CMs are like all others, some are fantastic, while others are just ok. If what you want hasn't been booked yet, I'd try to do it yourself. If IPO does keep looking and you end up with a duplicate, you can always cancel one. Good luck and I hope you are able to get what you want :wizard:.

I can't answer about the king rooms, but hopefully others will be able to help :flower3:.

Just booked our trip to Poly CL! Just 200 days left :yay:

Happy planning! :cool1:

7 more sleeps until Poly CL here we come! With any luck we'll be checking in around this time next week. We have so few actual plans/reservations this trip, which is both totally unnerving and totally liberating! DS doesn't know about the trip so it'll be a surprise, if we can somehow manage to keep him from being too nosy as we pack this week. I know several of y'all have trips around the same time, safe travels to all!

So exciting! And I'm jealous even though I just got back! I think I could go to Poly CL once a month and not get tired of it. We did the Twilight Feast (or whatever it's called -- the Ohana dinner delivery) and it was pretty good. I didn't have a dinner booked there in advance, so we opted for this. Have a great time, as I'm sure you will, and can't wait to hear about it!

Ok this is so interesting! We were just at BWI CL too (June 29-July 2) and while the wine was brought out on a rolling cart, it was self-serve. A CM was checking the cart constantly and if a guest was there, the CM would certainly offer assistance. I will say, though, that the lounge was not crowded at all...maybe that has something to do with it. I'll bet they have a server when there's a lot of activity at the wine cart! There really wasn't much action when we were there -- it was pretty quiet, so probably no need to stand and serve.

So weird! And we checked in the same day, too! And I probably saw you in the lounge but just didn't know it was you .
Next time, even if your MB's don't work at Hawaii building, just sort of stand at the doors and the desk CM will buzz you in. That is what we did. Then you can just check right in with them. I had done online check-in, but I still obviously gave them my name, etc., because I wanted them to know we belong in the Hawaii building and were just waiting for our room-ready text. You probably already know all that, but maybe it might help someone else who is new to Poly CL :thumbsup2.

I'm at the YC Cl right now (been here since Monday). I've been in the lounge during the appetizer time twice and both times the beer was in a frig and the wine right there. A CM is standing in front of the frig handing out the beer and pouring the wine. Been in the dessert time twice and the alcohol bottles were sitting on the counter and nobody seemed to be manning that. I've never stayed CL before so I don't know how it used to be?

Yes the wine was still on the rolling cart. The CM's were standing behind the cart everytime I walked in the lounge even if it wasn't crowded. At times, I noticed that after he poured the wine for someone and if no one was waiting he would leave the cart but as soon as someone would walk over to the cart he would walk quickly back to the cart to pour the wine. One lady went to pour her own and he quickly came across the room and grabbed the wine bottle and poured it for her. He said you can get your own if no one is here but I'll do it now.

In my personal opinion, I think too much of a deal was made regarding pouring the wine. To me, if the CM was there to pour it for a guest fine, but to dart across the room seemed to me a bit much.
