Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

polynesian garden view CL room is almost $100/night more than GF sugar loaf CL standard room. Any advice on which to go with? Pros and cons of each? Safety aside (I hope they find that boy and figure out how to prevent any future alligator attacks!!)...
I have stayed at both and enjoy both.

Poly lounge space and location is amazing. The view of the castle :worship:

However food at SL is so plentiful !!! I enjoyed the building location but the lounge just doesnt compare to polys.

On a side note I really enjoyed that you could sit in the courtyard pool with an adult beverage(either purchased or brought from lounge). It was only steps from the building..
Then again having both the pool and the beach so close at Poly is nice too!

I generally book poly, cr or gf cl based on price, lowest wins. I never regretted my choice. All have been great stays.:cloud9:

Hello! In a momentary lapse of judgement, I booked 5 nights at YC CL for September. We're old pros at Disney but we've never stayed CL. I'm trying to learn all about it so hopefully my questions are okay. I've been playing around with the room view finder on TP but since there aren't that many rooms, would there be any real benefit to using it or just let them assign me whatever room? With online check in and texting room numbers, are you still greeted and brought up to the CL check in area or just text and go straight to your room? We have to switch to 5 days garden view after the first stay, is there ever a chance of late check out? I'd like to avoid having to drop the bags but hopefully just go from one room to the next directly. I'm off to read as much as I can. Thanks! :)

We've never stayed YC CL and have never used TP so I can't comment on either of those, but just wanted to say I hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

Can't stay away from Disney!! Just booked our first BWI and BWI CL stay for our 10 year anniversary and my 40th birthday! (also DS6 Birthday). We will be staying there Nov 27-Dec 2!

Hope you have a great time and enjoy BWI CL. We've never stayed at BWI, but I am always reading great things about CL (as well as the resort overall) :wizard:.

Anyone have a current list of the food offerings at BWI/CL? I'm just curious as we have never stayed there before and I am looking forward to it. We have stayed CL at Poly, BC and GF/RPC and hands down Poly has been the most amazing with RPC coming in last sadly. Also does anyone have any room requests we should maybe put in at BWI?

I can't help, but hopefully others will be able to :flower3:.

We leave in a month still trying hard to keep the club level part a secret staying at Old Key West first!! kids are 17 and 20!! looking forward to a washing machine for a few days!!

What a great surprise! You'll be there before you know it :goodvibes.

We are looking forward to our first Poly stay next month. I will never go back to Sugar Loaf, but I will try RPC.

I love RPC and think it's definitely worth a try (just my opinion). Hope you have a great Poly CL stay next month :).

I really hated my stay at Sugar Loaf, and I would not stay there again. The room was nice, probably the nicest on property. The lounge was noisy, chaotic, and almost never enough seating during breakfast and evening services. The CMs there were not friendly, and were not helpful even when we asked for help with basic things like getting a DVD for the kids. The food was not replenished consistently, so there were times when we were not able to get something basic like yogurt at breakfast. Evenings were even worse. The food would be gone within minutes, and no replacements for 20 to 30 minutes.

We loved our BC, CR, and YC club stays. We are looking forward to our first Poly stay next month. I will never go back to Sugar Loaf, but I will try RPC.

For the record, our favorite CL thus far has been the CR.

That was our feeling about the GF SL as well. We have stayed at all CLs except AK and RPC and GF SL is at the bottom. The CMs were not friendly at all. Always had problems getting seats too. We went years ago when food was a plenty so that wasn't an issue but it didn't feel special at all. We were asking the CM to make an ADR for us and he wasn't helpful at all and not friendly - like we were bothering him.

Anyone stay CL at CR lately?

We're staying Atrium CL at the CR next week and received the usual welcome email. It stated that evening turn-down with chocolates and cordials in the lounge were included. Did they bring those things back, or is that message out of date?

Thanks.

I have not stayed CR CL recently but I believe the reports have generally been that AKL is the only CL where they've tinkered with the nightly turn-down service (by request only if I'm not mistaken). Seems like the reports of the latest cordial offerings have been pretty inconsistent among CLs, so I can't help you there. I guess I'm not much help at all frankly!

I hope you have a great trip - love CR!

We just stayed YC CL last week. We booked Standard View, my only request was for a room close to the elevator. We were not "close" as there is only one elevator, but we were also not the furthest away. We had a view of the front of the resort and the bus stops, but that did not bother me. The view of the beautiful Florida skies always drew my attention from any other view, (or the impending storm clouds ;-) )

We were NOT greeted in the lobby and brought up to CL check in area. We received a text at the same time I entered on the online check in as the time we expected to arrive. We made it there about 10 minutes after that text, but no greeter. We went straight to our room then hit the club lounge for snacks. Then I went to the CL check in desk and asked if there was any other paperwork. Not sure what would have happened had I not done that, but the only paperwork was the schedule of the lounge, pool and booklet which includes the BB offer.

This was the first year we drove, so I'm not sure if that had something to do with not being greeted. I always assumed with Magical Express that everyone knew who was coming when and had staff ready to meet us.

We did request a late checkout but forgot to until the night before our checkout. Since we were driving, I only wanted to have a later checkout so that we could enjoy the pool a little more. The CL CM said he doubted it would be available, but he checked on line and said we could check out at Noon (instead of the usual checkout of 11 am). He did ask when I was thinking about for a late time and I did say Noon.

Hope that helps with your planning!

Anyone stayed at the Innkeepers Club lately? I have a regular room booked for Independence Day weekend and a CL room for October. Considering CL for July but need to justify the $165 extra per day (to myself). It'll be myself and younger daughter only this trip and I just moved over from the Poly and only standard rooms are available with AP rate. I'd love to see a menu!!

We are staying cl at boardwalk right now and leave tomorrow - I am so so sad! We checked in last Sunday and when we arrived we told them downstairs we were club level and they escorted us up to the 4th floor for check in. We arrived at 7am and they immediately ushered my husband and kids in to the lounge to eat while I checked us in. Jackie could tell I was tired and we were carrying pillows so she had a room ready for us immediately. We were given a boardwalk view with a huge balcony even though we booked standard. Food in lounge has been great, service was weird the first day - we didn't get turn down and one suitcase wasn't delivered but the second we mentioned it they fixed it. On park day three and four they magically loaded three fast passes for anything on to our bands - yay. Jackie went and hunted down aloe for my sunburn. Turndown has come with taffy. On our early morning bog breakfast day they went above and beyond and covered a cab for us to the park so we didn't have to deal with transportation at that hour. On our water park day one of the hosts loaded the kids up with drinks, cookies, goldfish, Swedish fish and yogurt covered raisins to take with them. We leave tomorrow but have been told to please stay and use the lounge until we head out (magic express doesn't get us until 5:45pm) and gave us 1pm late check out.
We typically stay at shades of green and after this I don't know how I'll ever go back!

Yes, that helps a lot, thank you! Do you remember what some of the evening food offerings were? We're vegetarian, just wondering if there will be something for us to nibble on.

Wow, this review makes me glad that we have CL booked for October, but also has me wondering if I want to bite the bullet and change for Independence Day weekend as well. With just myself and my daughter this trip, $165/day is a bit of an ouch to the wallet! (but I can justify it by not having my husband and other grown daughter to pay for, so that's -$50 per day :D )

I agree about the cost but once I divide it by 4 I am ok and my 16 year old is always hungry so hope it will be worth it!!

We mostly drive and were always greeted right at the car. We really liked that. When you go through the gate they tell the front staff that you are coming and we were always greeted at the car. We never did online check in though.

One time we stayed at the YC CL and we felt that it was a football field length from the lounge. You really can be far from the lounge. The last time we went we made the request and we were given a much closer room.

That sounds like a great stay. We feel that way at the Boardwalk. We love Anita and Lorenzo. One time they found out my DD was sick with a stomach issue and Anita went and got ginger ale and brought a few of them to the room for us. The BWI CL CMs we love the best. It feels like home to us. Glad you had a nice stay.

Staying at CR CL in August so looking forward to responses too! Also, thinking about snacks for the parks. Are there items like granola bars that are easy to grab and take with you for snacks for kids throughout the day or should I bring some of those types of things with me?

I am so excited about your visit- I am now looking forward to our trip to BWI, thank you for your review!

No, the lounge foods are not wrapped items but things intended to be eaten there from plates or bowls. You can, though, carry drinks and plates to your room to snack or breakfast if you wish. A CM will often lend you a tray if you ask for one for that purpose.

I would either bring your own touring snacks or pick up them up in the resort shop. All the resort gift shops sell wrapped and bagged snack items which can be gotten with snack credits oftentimes if you're on a dining plan.

As the PP mentioned, they do not provide park snacks or things that are packaged. However, they do provide whole fruit that you can take (bananas, oranges, and apples that are wrapped up).

Has anyone stayed WL club level recently? Any reviews? We just booked a two night deluxe club level for August.

I would SERIOUSLY rethink this. WL is currently undergoing a major renovation with the entire CL lounge moved into a suite, limited food offerings and having to request the beverage you wish rather than being able to serve yourself from what I've read.

The lounge is being enlarged into what were two "honeymoon" rooms near the serving area, one of which we stayed in two years ago. That much alteration will be a major operation. I would certainly call the WL IPO and ask if the lounge redo is complete or will be by your stay if you really want to keep your WL booking.

I would SOOO not stay at WL while this reno is underway since it's massive and projected not to be done until early 2018! We were at WL while the main pool was being redone which wasn't a big deal for us although noisy and messy. What really annoyed me was that those lovely huge lobby windows overlooking that pool were obscured by scaffolding for repairs to them. I'd have liked to sit in the CL lounge and watch the construction but couldn't really see it very well.

No way I would go anywhere near WL myself with such extensive interior construction being done. I absolutely would not waste my money on CL there until the whole place is construction-free. YMMV as ever. (Your mileage may vary.)

Oopsie! I forgot about the fresh fruit. Thanks for the correction.

Guess that shows that I go to WDW in vay-cay-SHUN mode. If it's healthy, I ain't touching the stuff. :)
