Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

For October I have poly CL and PBH CL booked. PBH is a lot cheaper so we may just drive to WDW for MNSSHP
You'll have a fabulous time!

I know right??? Why is PBH so cheap??? I was shocked. Another cheap one was Swan/Dolphin. Like $150-$170?? I was tempted by that as well.

I know nothing about universal but there's a TON of construction going on that you can see from I-4. The cabana hotel would be horrible to stay in right now, I can't imagine the noise level. So I'm not sure where PBH is located in relation to that hotel. If it's close or on the south side of the property (new water park) then it's going to be noisey. Not to worry you but I wanted to give you a heads up. I think a trip report would be fun because it would be from a different perspective and it would be fun to see plans vs no plans.

Portofino is on the opposite end. When I stayed at Royal Pacific back in January I could see all the construction from the club lounge windows (the new Sapphire Falls, Cabana Bay extension, new water park, etc). But honestly I couldn't hear a thing even though I was super close to it. Probably because RP doesn't have balconies, so the building is sealed up from outside noises. The best thing about Portofino is definitely the express passes. Also they have a Starbucks inside the hotel and a really good deli for quick service. The rooms are large with nice bathrooms and I'll be a short walk from my car or the water taxi. I'll be a lot happier there than what I can afford at WDW right now. My last two stays at Pop and POR were the last for me. Too many problems to even list them all.

Glad you mentioned about POR, because I was contemplating a stay there after my daughter's nationals competition in February. We will be at ASSp for the first part of the trip with her teammates, but are probably going to stay a few extra days for a mother/daughter vacation. I really prefer deluxe but we'll have to see how prices are. I've stayed at CSR, which I enjoyed, but have never been to any of the other moderates.

I prefer CSR. But that's as an adult traveler. If I still had young kids I would feel differently. But at this point in my life I need peace and tranquility on vacation.

Extended family decided to join us for our trip in September and we now have a second 1-bedroom suite CR CL tower room booked for them on 9/6-9/10. There had been zero options for free dining or many of the options and when I happened to check the other night, boom! CL + FD we are all so excited!

Congrats on getting what you wanted with FD! Hope everyone has a great trip! :wizard:

Just changed our GF lagoon view room to a sugarloaf concierge for our upcoming trip. This will be our third time club level (Boardwalk & Poly before) but it has been a while.I am interested to compare. I am so excited. 8 days to go....

Have a great time :).

Here at YC CL now and I can confirm that there is no longer bottled water available (thank goodness we brought some) but there is nightly turn down service with chocolates! :) I'd rather have the chocolates haha

Thanks for the info. Hope you're enjoying the YC :goodvibes.

Hi, after getting a last minute deal on orbitz we are now staying at sugarloaf GF. Sooooo excited.

Congrats on snagging a deal! Have a great time :wizard:.

Hey guys! I've only stayed CL at WL and during downtime the gate was locked. From what I understand at Poly, the CL never closes during the day... what I wanted to know is, during say from 10am to 12, is there any food out, or is it just drinks?

Thanks!!!

Well it seems to me that breakfast goes until 10:30. Then just beverages and always a fruit bowl (apples and maybe oranges and/or bananas) until 11:30 when snacks come out. And those snacks are very minor things like goldfish, cookies, gummie bears, things like that. If we are spending the afternoon at the pool, we sometimes ask the CM's for other things like yogurt so we can have some healthier alternatives at the pool.

I don't know if I'll do a trip report... should I? It's going to be a mixture of WDW and Universal, literally zero plans made!
Please, Please do a trip report!!! We are planning on doing a split stay in Dec. between the BWI and PBR. It has been a dozen years or more since we have been to the dark side and trying to do research on Universal seems to be like speaking a new language! At least give us a taste of what you think of PBR. I love reading your trip reports and I need sooooo much help with this Dec. vacation!:worship::thanks:

It did happen....the first set of bands would NOT work at the second resort. WE COULD NOT GET IN THE GATE OR THE ROOM DOOR. I did online check in for both. This was 3 weeks ago. I believe a way around it is to go to the front desk and physically tap the bands to check out and in. The point of my comments to my initial post was about my upcoming trip in July, I am moving from CL at Poly for a week to a wind down stay at OKW...I was trying to figure out the glitch with the bands not allowing access to club level. You need an active band to get into the building. There is always a way around everything...but the bands not being interchangeable was completely new to us.

Wow. I was clearly wrong. They must be doing something different with the bands. I'm glad you posted about it since we, too, are doing a split stay this summer.

Yes PLEASE do a trip report! I've never been to Universal Orlando. We will do our first split Universal/WDW/DCL vacation this December. I want all the wonderful details. Thanks so very much!

I have never had the IPO be able to get a reservation I cannot get. I have used them to get all of my ADRs at the 180 day mark and had good luck with it getting everything we wanted (except BOG back when it was pretty new and way harder to get than even now). The first time I did that was because I was away at a conference and there was no way I could be on the computer booking at 180 days. It went so well I have used them since then, just to avoid having to be doing it myself at 7:00 AM. But when it's less than 180 days and I can't get an ADR, and I ask them to check, they just say no, nothing available. Then if I ask about continuing to check they say something about putting it on the list, but I have never had that come through. I've always found them myself. If they check at all I think it's once a day. I have found that once you are there you can get better responses from the CMs at the desk, but the IPO has never wowed me. It is nice to have them for routine things, though, so i don't have to wait in the call queue forever. You can just call them and ask your question, etc. I seem to get very generic responses to questions ahead of time, like how gluten free is handled in the lounge, or special events, upcoming things, etc...
We have had wonderful luck with CL IPO we go over Christmas or the week before and I had two restaurants (BOG) & Liberty Tree Tavern that were not loaded in yet for ADR's & they popped up a week later in MDE & email conformation. Do you fill out the form they send and fax it back??? I guess it depends on who u get some CM in IPO go above & beyond & know tricks & some I know more then them! Haha
