Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

... For future club level guests: Let us know your resort and dates, we'll add you to our upcoming club level guest list!

Hello!

Could you please add our family of five adults (my daughter, son-in-law, granddaughter, grandson and me) to your list. We'll be staying at Club Level at The Beach Club October 22nd - 29th of 2016.

I've also received a prompt welcoming email from the Itinerary Planning staff. And, because the trip will be our first to WDW in over a decade (and because it will have by then been over twenty years since we last stayed at The Beach Club) and I will need all the help that I can get, I did respond to the attached questionnaire.

A day or so later a lovely lady named Patty phoned me and was of enormous help with my FP+ anxieties (sending along print-outs of each of the screens as I'll encounter them) - making me feel comfortably 'at home' even at this very early point in our planning.

We've stayed once before at Club/Concierge Level in Disney World - during our visit to The Polynesian in 1987. Or, twice before, if you include a stay (with The Platinum Plan) at Fort Wilderness in 2003 - a long story ... :)

So, even though our Club Level experience next year will be somewhat coincidental (we needed a two-bedroom suite and the very nice perk came with the room), we're really looking forward to it. And I hope that you and the other Board members won't mind if we lean a bit on your advice in the months leading up to our arrival.

Considering GV club level at the Poly, right now I'm booked standard room lagoon view. Is the view from GV decent now?

I agree, it is a beautiful resort! If we do plan a CA/DL trip, it will probably be 2017 rather than 2016, so I hope you will give a review after your trip next year :goodvibes.
I will! We are pretty set on our plans for next summer to be in CA/DL so I will keep you posted on the experience there!

I hear you... The CL price over there is too high. We have stayed both CL and non-CL, and we had a great time either way. You exit the hotel in the middle of DTD, so there are many places to grab food on the way to the parks (same for the other 2 Disney hotels). It's all close together, so while we love the location of the GCH, the other 2 aren't really that far away. And there are many non-Disney hotels that are walking distance as well (we prefer Disney because it's easier to feel immersed in Disneyland if we stay there, but I've also stayed off property).
We too LOVE to stay in our "Disney bubble" by staying on-property.

It is a longer walk to the parks from DLH. However if you are used to Disney World, then I don't think it would be that big of a deal. DL and DCA are in a much more compact area than DW. There is also a monorail station close to the DLH. So you can take that into DL park, which saves you some steps. The walk to the parks is through DTD, so there is tons to see and do on the way. The walk doesn't bother our family. As an on property guest, you can also use the entrance for DCA through the GCH, which saves you some steps and puts you right into the park by the grizzly river rapids. I am also deciding about the premier pass. We currently have Premium Passes to DLR and may upgrade for our trip in the spring. I am not sure what the upgrade cost is though so need to do the math.
We did the math and it will cost $100 more for us to get the Premier Passport vs. two 5 day PH tickets and DL/DCA and one 10 day PH ticket at WDW - but the premier passport includes the water parks as well and offers lot of discounts on merchandise and dining and resorts - so we are thinking that it will actually put us ahead if we can do it - Plus I look at it like pre-paying for our WDW trip 11 months in advance - we will have to time our trips perfectly though - like July 15 - 25, 2016 in DL/DCA and then June 30 - July 14, 2017 in WDW to make it work out best! ;-)

Hi everyone! I'm semi-brand new. I used to belong to the boards years ago but I forgot my username and email that I used. Whoops. So right now, we are booked for a 4 night stay at YC CL Dec 12-16th. We've only stayed CL before once at BC back in 2012. I've read back the last 20 or so pages and see that BC is apparently much better now then when we went. What is the difference now between YC and BC. We are a big party going- my DH, 13 yr old niece, 9 yr old DS, and my 9 month old twins. So a daybed is a must and a balcony would be optimal, which is why we like YC better. But for club offerings, are they the same?

Club Level DISers!
For future club level guests: Let us know your resort and dates, we'll add you to our upcoming club level guest list! A fun way to see who might be staying with you at the same resort on club level. Maybe even arrange to meet! It's always great to put a face to a name! :goodvibes To be added just PM your info to TigrLvsPooh (Erika Murphy) or comment on the thread and TAG me. :D

Erika can you add us please? Polynesian Sept 25-27 super quick, girls only MNSSHP and Food and Wine visit

The biggest difference right now is that the BC CL refurbishment is done at the YC CL refurb is getting ready to begin. So I'm not sure what kind of state the YC will be in come December. All of the YC CL rooms have balconies, and daybeds are available but limited. Make sure you add the request for a daybed to your reservation. :)
Food offerings are very similar I think.

Considering GV club level at the Poly, right now I'm booked standard room lagoon view. Is the view from GV decent now?

Definitely was terrible last week when I stopped by. Lots of loud construction and heavy equipment.

It's still supposed to be awful and facing a construction area.

We are literally just using the room to sleep and change clothes in, Have MNSSHP on arrival day and then Food& Wine the next day, then the girls have to be back in college on Monday, so no worries. I figure that if our room isn't ready on arrival we can hang in the lounge, they can work on assignments (one f my daughters has at least one online class) etc. We'll probably see what snacks they have at 5PM and then either nosh a little there or head to Captain Cooks or if the room is ready order room service to eat while getting ready for the party.

I will! We are pretty set on our plans for next summer to be in CA/DL so I will keep you posted on the experience there!

Great, thanks :goodvibes. I know it's a year away, but I'm sure it will go by fast! I can't wait to hear all about it as a CA/DL trip is definitely one we plan on taking ;).

Sounds like a great trip! :wizard:

For a short trip where you're not going to be in the room I think it will be totally fine! :)

Our first MNSSHP was in '04, split stay between WL and the Poly starting party day. Seemed only fitting now that the girls (and their best friend) are now in college. We've stayed CL before (YC, BC, WL and CR) but never at the Polynesian. With the trip being this quick I'm all for convenience!

Just thought I'd share that the beginning of our trip at CR, Tower CL, was excellent. CM's were super friendly and extremely helpful...food offerings were very good too. Sadly, we moved over to the Poly CL yesterday and encountered numerous issues right from the get go and were not impressed at all. Things continued to go downhill so we requested to be moved first thing this morning.

First, let me just say that the Poly has been a dream resort for my family for a long time and while I was apprehensive about the construction. I can honestly tell you that was the LEAST of the problems. Most of our issues had to do with service, or lack thereof.

After staying CL at a few deluxes now, IMHO, the Poly doesn't measure up at all and that goes from service to their food offerings which is sad considering I've had friends tell me that their CL was the best on property at one time.

The Poly is still a beautiful resort but until they make some serious changes, we won't be returning any tine soon. To say that we ended up wasting precious vacation time is an understatement and I've had to deal with some pretty upset and disappointed girls.

We are now in Sugar Loaf at the GF trying to salvage what's left of our trip and hoping to play catch up now for all the time we missed. I'm sure my post won't be popular but I did want post our experience.

Mommyrosa2- so sorry you are having to deal with this. Have a wonderful time at the GF!

We are checking into BC CL in Thursday. Right now they have no AC and no hot water! Apparently lightening hit something. Sounds like they are giving guests option of moving to another resort. Hope things are fixed by Thursday!

I replied to your post over on the Polynesian thread, but I'm glad that you posted here as well. One thing that I can't tolerate is bad service or more specifically bad attitudes. Geesh... 8 days to go....and then I'll see how it goes for us at the Polynesian.

Edited to add: The loss of your vacation time is something that is just wrong. The CMs *work* there, WE have to work to afford to spend our money there. Do not answer this, but I really hope that you were compensated in some way for such a priceless loss. The time that any of us have to spend with our families on vacation is priceless.

Even though the view should be terrible, my family is staying there. We felt the location and view from the lounge would make up for it, so if you can deal with a crummy view, switch!! I figure, we're going in with really low expectations so we won't be disappointed!

I know some people don't like to hear anything negative, but I appreciate people's reviews, both the positive and also the not-so-positive. Few places are perfect, and I would rather choose my resort with as much information as possible. I'm sorry your Poly stay was less than magical, and I'm glad you were able to move to the GF. I hope things will be better for you over there. We stayed Poly CL twice and while there are things I really liked about it there was also room for improvement.

It's fixed! They had it fixed overnight. They did say a lot of people moved last night.

Called IPO a few minutes ago at the Polynesian and so far not impressed. Sort of a nonchalant, "oh we send a letter out about 10 day s before arrival" spiel, what happened to the "Is there anything that you will need, any dining reservations, tee times....." questions? I had t ask him about an ADR that I'm having difficulty getting. He looked and said, yep, it's booked solid, but yo can try getting there early and standing in the standby line.......... Definitely not like the old days......
