I never travel without multiple packs of clorox wipes! They're also quite handy for air travel. The first thing I do is whip one out and wipe down every surface of my seat, seatbelt, and tray table. And the wall and window if I have a window seat. And the seat pocket.

I may have a germ problem.

It is funny because WDW is one of the few places I actually do use hand sanitizer, except I don't use it to clean my hands all that much.

Since it is a gel, and comes in tiny tubes, it works well for travel. It helps clean cuts and the like.

Alcohol is also the most effective thing I've ever found to relieve minor itching: heat rashes, bug bites (not that I get any in WDW). It will calm a rash far more effectively than topical steroids. (though the solar gel the WDW resorts sometimes give on CL is also good stuff!)

Another way it works wonders is to erase Sharpie marks! (at least off plastic) Again- WDW! We used to use my micro-sharpie to sign our tickets. I mark gift cards as I use them. If we ever vacation with a bigger group, being able to label all sorts of items comes in handy!

I admit I drink less wine now that I have to ask someone to pour it for me. Over our 10 day trip I probably had a total of 3 glasses at the BC CL, and zero at Sugar Loaf. (Long line at their cart every time I happened to walk by) It's not that I'm embarrassed to ask, it just seems like a hassle.

Wait, SL has the cart now also? I thought it was just the YC, or maybe also the BC. I don't like this new trend at all, but have to admit I haven't stayed yet at a CL that has the (alcohol monitors) - I mean carts!

GF SL and YC CL both have rolling carts, BC CL has a person stationed in front of the alcohol guarding it with their life.

Thanks for the tip! I used Airborne the last two trips and stayed healthy but forgot to buy some this time. Maybe it serves me right!

I don't know if it's just a placebo effect or what, but that Airborne stuff certainly worked for me the one time I needed it! I was flying down to meet my DH and got stuck sitting next to a guy hacking like he had Ebola or something the whole way there. As soon as the plane landed, I went straight to Hudson News and bought some Airborne. By the next day, I started feeling ill, but I kept taking the Airborne and I was fine the next day. Normally, I am sitting by my two daughters, so it's not a problem because I wipe down the arm rests and trays with Clorox wipes. My SIL is a microbiologist, and this is what she told us to do a long time ago. I hope you feel better soon!!

How do the carts work? Is it one glass at a time, or could I ask for two glasses that way I could avoid having to go stand in line again after finishing the first one?

That's probably what Disney is hoping for...that people will drink less and they can say they are doing it to prevent anyone from getting out of hand. It certainly didn't stop me and DH at BC in June! We had more than 3 a night each -LOL...it's vacation RPC didn't monitor alcohol when we were there in February, so I'm a bit nervous to see what it's like for our October trip. From what I've heard, it's not a big deal.

Several people on the GF thread already have confirmed it, I just haven't experienced it for myself yet. We didn't have any problems at BC, although some of the "monitors" were much nicer than others, so I am not anticipating any issues in RPC

I don't see you on the list, so I don't know when you are going, but please let us all know your experience when you return (pics would be great). I'm going to BWI for the first time in early December, and my DH is a bit nervous about it...we are GF lovers who have only strayed a few times to stay at BC and Poly. I'm pretty excited to try a new CL/resort, especially after Liz's review, so I hope your experience is great too!!

I will try and post when I return and during the trips! My first CL stay is at GF late September. I'm weird about putting my official dates in a log... My name isn't secretive enough. Then just a 2 night stint at BWI before your trip. I look forward to trying out the various club levels!

We didn't have any trouble enjoying MK on Christmas Day last year. I heard traffic was really terrible out on the roads, but we took the boat from the WL and walked right in with no issues. I think we got there around late morning. Did our 3 fastpasses, saw the parade, it really didn't feel any different than the rest of the week. I thought NYE was much worse.

I'm so glad to hear you did this last year and it worked, and you had a great time. On Christmas Day I have appts at the Harmony barbershop at 10:30 and 11:00 for my DH and DS2 and DS5, an ADR for the CP at 12:15, and I plan to make 3 FP+ reservations at 60 days. That, plus get some pictures from the MK on Christmas Day is all I plan to do. Then we have CM at 8:05 for a late dinner. My main concern is getting into the MK, there is no way I am getting everyone up and to the MK prior to 7:00 AM on Christmas Day. I want to have breakfast in the lounge and have a slightly unhurried Christmas morning, then go to the MK. Do you think they would close to capacity prior to like 9:30 or 10:00? I couldn't imagine so, but others on the boards have warned that it has happened that early. Another concern was actually physically getting in without that being the longest line of the day I was contemplating going without a bag or the stroller, even with a 2 yr old. it wouldn't be ideal, but we also wouldn't have to do bag check or get the stroller through the crowds. Is that necessary? I thought that with the walk from the MK and no bag check we might be able to get in relatively easily, even mid morning on Christmas? Maybe I'm being to naive. I am definitely concerned that it will be so wall-to-wall the my DH will be ready to just throw in the towel as soon as we enter, but like I said I want to do it once! We've been tons of times and almost never do either rope drop or park closing now with little kids, and we don't expect to ride much more than our FP+ reservations, so I thought with that plan we might do ok. The 26th we have a Candlelight Processional dinner package ADR, and the 27th Minnie's Holiday dine at H & V and Osbourne lights +/- Fantasmic. Those are my main plans.

Yes it was there in July. I did not have any issues with a line building up though.

They gave me two glasses without even asking why, and I was taking it back to my room.

Do they also have someone pouring the cordials at night? I know my DH can have kind of a heavy hand pouring his nighttime Courvoisier , and he won't like to look like a lush but I'm sorry, we're on vacation, and that's one of the nice perks of staying CL that we wouldn't get in a regular room. We may buy wine or beer for the room but probably not the liquors they have at night (none of them are really to my liking, but I read about bringing sour mix and making amaretto sours, and I do like those ) How are the wine pours? I know at the WL when they got us wine between services they usually brought out a pretty decent glass, which was great when taking it to the pool or all the way back to our room on a different floor.

MK would have to go to a stage 4 closure before Disney resort guests couldn't get in, and it's highly unlikely that will happen. From what I found online MK hasn't reached a stage 4 closure since April 2009 (Easter 2009). I wouldn't worry at all.

Erika- Can you please add me for the Boardwalk October 29th - November 2nd (2015)? We travel to WDW every year or so but this is the first time we are staying club level! DH and I are celebrating our 20th anniversary (got married at the WL) and figured we would splurge on a BWI garden/cottage suite. We have never stayed at the BWI before but seems like a great location for all of the food & wine events we have planned Thanks and hope you feel better soon!

Good for you for getting the cute room! I would like one of those one day! I love a cute and yet spacious room!

I'm debating what to book for Christmas this year. I'm leaning towards Sugarloaf right now. I really like being close to MK and the GF has such beautiful decorations. AP rates are out and they are OK, not as good as I hoped. Six nights (12/18-12/24) with my AP is $4165. Not sure what I want to do about 12/24 and 12/25 yet since there aren't any discounts for those dates. Might have to go down to a moderate, or go home. There's no way I'm paying $1000 per night. Unless I hit the lottery by then!

I'm actually a bit torn between theme park view and sugar loaf because they're both the same exact price. Watching Holiday Wishes from our room would be amazing! But I know my kids would miss the lounge.

Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding!! I'm sure this is the reason. They can come up with all kinds of reasons they did this, but I'm sure the reason is people drink less alcohol when they feel like someone is watching everything they drink and they have to ask for it instead of just go up and fill whatever size cup they want as often as they want. That saves lots of money, the alcohol is one of the best ways to say you "get your money's worth" out of CL, if all adults in your party have a few drinks a day that would certainly add up if paid for OOP.

We've stayed in both those rooms several times and I can see why it would be a tough decision, especially during the holidays with the extra fireworks!
