Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Is there an AKL map view of CL room locations that someone can point me to? Wondering about standard CL rooms and also 1 bedroom suites in particular. I did read that CL is located on either the 5th or 6th floors of Jambo house. I have a silly (CL newbie) type question....Are all CL rooms located right by the lobby on the 5th or 6th floor or is CL scattered from one end of Jambo to the other? I have never stayed at AKL or CL before and hoping to experience both for a few nights at the end of our trip this October. Also, the location description of the standard CL room on Disneys website says Arusha view but I thought I read that standard CL could be either Savanna or pool view. If someone can please clarify the floor #, proximity of CL room locations to the lobby, and view for the standard CL rooms, I'd be very very grateful.
:thanks:

Very interesting! I think someone on here texted with IPO who confirmed that it is at CR. This is such a downer to not have concrete info, especially coming directly from IPO!

In any event, have a fabulous time in the Tower Club!:)
Hmm...so maybe the IPO person I spoke with was right about the texting service only being at BC,YC, and GF right now?? I really think it needs to be in all CLs since US offers front of line passes to everyone staying in their "deluxe" resorts. I realize Disney has way too many deluxe resorts to do the same, but it would be nice if CL had some benefit (other than food/drink)!

AKL CL is one of our favorites and we've stayed there quite a few times. Other than the few DVC rooms, the AKL CL rooms are on the 4th floor, spread along the 2 trails overlooking the Arusha Savanna (I believe they are called the Giraffe and Kudu trails on the hotel map, but I'm going from memory here so I could be mistaken on the names). To get to the lounge, you need to walk a ways towards the lobby area and then take the stairs or elevator to the 6th floor. The CL lounge is located directly above the entrance to AKL. The CL rooms all have savanna views (Arusha) and to be honest the views get a bit more interesting as you go further down the hallway (away from the lobby). If you have already booked a CL room at AKL, you can call their IPO office and they should be able to explain the room locations in detail. Hope this helps.

Are you guys friends with Irv at Poly CL? He's the older man that works in the lounge (retired from Social Security job I believe, full head of white hair, very social and friendly!). He goes above and beyond for the guests and takes the time to know people. Other than him, we haven't made many other CM friends at Poly.
Love him! Made a point to introduce him to my mom when we were there. I always look for him when staying there.

I have to admit that the waterfall being gone from the main lobby still makes me SO sad. I remember that being there when I visited WDW as a kid:( I understand why they did it (more seating, etc) but it still upsets me! I'm glad Poly was never our favorite because I'd be crushed! I hope it still feels like home to you:) I do like that they cleared out the trees that blocked the view of the MK at 'Ohana. You used to have to request a certain area, but now you can see clearly all the way across!
I was upset about it at first, but it is very nice in the lobby..it feels bigger and more like the other hotel lobby that you can sit and just relax in.

I, too, am still sad about the waterfall being gone :sad1:. We are returning to the Poly next summer and while I am keeping an open mind (or trying to), I'm not so sure I will feel any different seeing it in person as the Poly is my favorite resort and the pics of the new lobby just don't do anything for me :(.

I know there has been a lot of conversation about the FP texting service and what places have it here, we just checked into the CR Tower club and they hadn't even heard of it. So I can confirm that it is not offered here.

I hope you are having a nice time :wizard:.

The GF had those potato chips, too and they were delicious!

I love those chips, they were my downfall during my RPC stay ;).

Do you happen to know where the 1 bedroom suites are located? I was pricing different CLs for next summer and while I was looking for standard CL, I noticed a 1 bedroom suite was comparable to GF RPC. We are considering a split with Poly CL and while I'd love to return to RPC, I also want to try a different CL :).

I'm now feeling a LOT of mixed emotions about our upcoming Poly CL stay. After reading the recent reviews about the lacklaster/mediocre offerings in the lounge, the pool hopping situation and everything else in between, I decided to call IPO with a few questions. Now, take this with a grain of salt because we all know how much stock to take in what CM's say but....

I asked about protein offerings in the morning such as hard boiled eggs. The woman I spoke with did confirm there are no protein offerings (not that I didn't believe anyone's recent reviews). She then said if a guest wanted protein for breakfast, such as hard boiled eggs, they (IPO) could make a note of it on their reservation and that the guest should also talk to the chef during the evening offerings and they would get them for that person the next morning and each morning if need be. As much as a total carb breakfast is tempting, I honestly cannot do that everyday or I'll literally be sick for most of my trip. Whether or not this is an actual option, don't know, BUT I decided I will put that to the test and promise to report back after our trip next month.

Another thing I brought up was the impact on the ground floor rooms in other buildings and how I would be concerned if I got stuck with a ground floor room and couldn't use the patio. This is what she then said (again, take with a grain of salt)...she said by the time we check in to our GV CL room on 8/14, we wouldn't have an option for a ground floor because all the ground floor CL rooms facing the east pool will be taken out of inventory by then. This concerned me even more because I then asked if those rooms were being taken out of inventory because of possible disruption, wouldn't the same be true for the rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors too? All she said at that point, was how they shouldn't be because they sit higher up...ummmm, while I haven't physically stayed at this resort before, we have visited often and the longhouses aren't that tall IMHO to make that much of a difference.

Oh, me thinks this is going to be a very interesting trip...maybe I should just beg to stay at the CR instead of switching over to the Poly for the second half of our stay as planned :worried:.

The poly CL was a huge disappointment for us too. We must have had the one CM that felt put out when ever we asked for a beer. She was obviously doing us a favor! The food I had heard rave reviews about was laughable. Goldfish and gummy worms for snacks? Nothing for adults. We were thankful we didn't need to snack there. The only good thing was the theme park view room but since it was on first level our chairs would get stolen from people wanting to watch fireworks! We had to call to housekeeping to find some chairs so WE could enjoy them. I love love LOVE the poly but you can have the CL there

Everyone here says the CMs will give you beer/wine when you ask, but when I asked at BWI around 3-4pm, the CM said, 'not until 5pm'. Then a woman checked in and I saw another CM give her a bucket of beers. So I think this thing is CM dependent and we just got unlucky.

I missed the potato chips and dip in the afternoon at Poly. (they had them at BWI). They did serve cookies though.

I've only stayed BWI and Poly CL but my family agrees that the food is not that exciting; it's more of a convenience factor. I really want to try GF RPC and WL as those two seem to get a lot of good reviews.

That's so unfortunate about the beer at BWI :guilty: We'll be staying there in September, I certainly hope we don't get told NO to these normal requests. At AKL, one of the most fabulous CMs (Misty) on our first day there in the early afternoon, told us about the Tusker beer they had, and MADE US (in a totally friendly way!!) take a few back to our room so we could have one whenever we wanted. And then stressed that if we wanted more, and it wasnt technically time yet, to just ask and someone would be happy to get us a few. I'm just amazed at how different some CMs can be.

Weird question -- is it considered strange or bad form to tell the IPO about birthday celebrations for adults? We're staying at BC CL exactly between DH's and my birthdays (I'm August, he's the same day in October, we'll be there that day in September). We don't usually make a big deal of birthdays, but this is a big one (40!). It'd be kind of fun to have birthday buttons. They didn't ask when we booked if we were celebrating anything and I can't remember if they ask when you do online checkin (which I was going to skip anyway).

My advice is to ask someone else if the first person seems clueless. The CMs seem to vary widely in their customer service abilities.

Another example: one evening there was no POG alcoholic version at Poly CL (they have a white wine version in the evenings). I asked the CM and she said 'oh they didn't make enough today' and that was it. Then another night, a CM noticed we were getting drinks and told us to take the entire carafe back to our room. You never know.

Hi, mickeynut1 ! I don't know where those suites are located... I looked on the touring plans room finder map thing, and they seem to be at the ends of the hallways that are half-way down the 2 trails, but I've never seen the suites personally. Once you are booked, you can call IPO and ask them, but then that makes it hard when you just want to know what to book in the first place. BTW, we really, really like the CL at AKL. <3

Were you ever contacted by the IPO office? When we got the email from BC IPO with the planning form there was a place to indicate any special occasions you'll be celebrating. DH and I will be there in November to celebrate our 20th anniversary and our trip also falls over my birthday. I put them both on the IPO form. I figured why not? I see adults with birthday and other celebration buttons ALL the time at WDW. :goodvibes

I did forget about the very big stain on the carpet right as you walked in the door.

I know there is commercial cleaners that take out even oil (we use them alot in construction) so that was the first thing I saw when I opened the door.

Like I tried to express, this didn't ruin my trip by ANY stretch of the imagination..it was just sad that I was so excited to stay at the Poly again and honestly, I could have stayed in a regular room for far less and had the same experience..KWIM?[/QUO

Disney should be able to do better for the rates we pay!

I was at CR last week and they do have it. The number is on the page in the packet with the lounge times. It's shared with Grand Floridian, not actually at the CR.
The number for GF and CR is 407-545-2633. You can text them and ask to get text services.
Also, it's not a FP service. It's a Concierge Service. They do lots of things besides FP, so that may be part of the CM's confusion...

I'll have to look over all the papers. I was very clear in asking if I can text to have more fastpasses booked and was told no, but maybe that CM was uninformed.

I'm sorry. I can completely understand how you're feeling. The possibility of construction mess was stressing me out a few months ago to the point where we just moved to the WL for that part of our stay. I do plan to return to the Poly. But it's going to have to be when the construction mess is finished. While I can deal with some fixing up here and there (I remember one time there was construction in the lobby at AKL and I could not have cared less), I feel like the level of construction mess at the Poly (or the potential for it) would far outweigh the pleasure I'd get from being at the new pool or seeing the new lobby.

Was Wayne still there? He is by far my favorite CL CM ever. Such a wonderful guy. He really seemed to go out of our way to make things great for our kids.
