New Disney Visa "Inspire" card

Updating my prior post. I forgot I froze my Transunion credit report after one of those data leaks, and therefore forgot to lift it before I applied. Oops. Once I lifted it and called Chase, everything got squared away pretty quickly.

If you’re in rush to get that card, don’t be me, kids :)
I recommend always keeping your credit frozen and then doing a temporary thaw when you know you're applying for credit somewhere. It looks like Chase pulled my credit from Experian when I applied for the Inspire.

Same. Experian is also the most annoying to unfreeze. The other two have obvious and helpful buttons. To find the button on the Experian website, I had to scroll past several screens of offers. They really want your money. For all three agencies, you can easily unfreeze for a set time; I set it for a week, but the credit check happened almost immediately after submitting the application.

Slightly off topic, but what is the strategy for maximizing the inspire card benefits with existing Disney gift cards? E.g. I have $800 in cards from Sams club and $525 in Disney rewards from my other Disney visa. Thought I would pay myself back with that, but then do I spend $2000 to get the $200 and just save the $800 for a future trip?

I may be overthinking this . . . .

I assume you are referring to the $2K for Vacation Package/Cruise/Folio get $200 in Disney Dollars which provides 13% off if stopping at $2K and doing PYB.

If this is for a cruise the folio charges won't work there so you can use your gift cards to pay for merch or other add-ons.

If your package is greater than $2,540 then charge $540 to the Disney card that has the $525 Disney Dollars. You would earn $10.80 more if you had a premier at statement close bringing your total to $535.80 or with the no AF $5.40 bringing your total to $530.40 at statement close.
After Statement has closed use PYB to wipe out the rewards dollars there.
Then put the other $2K on the inspire and then at statement end you should receive the $200 Disney Dollars + $60 or more on the 3% that you can then wipe off with PYB.

You can then use the gift cards for other spend or hold for another trip.

I know it's early for the card's history and there may not be an answer for this, but could I just charge a $200 payment on my Disney World tickets to the card and get the $100 credit? We have a bounce-back package booked and we have quite a bit of discounted gift cards to pay towards the package so we wouldn't qualify for the $2000 spending. But I'm thinking if I can split my package into room and tickets, I could pay for the tickets with the $200 Disney Inspire charge plus my gift cards and get the $100 credit.

Just a thought to try and maximize the rewards...curious as to what others think! Thanks in advance :)
