Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

But for my questions - do we have access to DSS since we are DVC and not technically "paying" for CL? Are there any differences besides room locations? We are only staying 2 nights before changing to a non CL 2BR for friends to join us, our friends may join early on our last CL day- can I add them to our ressy so they can join us in the lounge (no meal plan so that wouldn't be impacted). We have availability for room occupancy. Does the DVC no additional charge for 3+ adults remain valid at CL?

I can answer some of this. Yes, you can use DSS (we have - I just explained that it was a DVC reservation and gave them the number).

I haven't stayed regular club level but from what I understand there's no difference except that you'll be in a DVC villa on the 6th floor (same floor as the lounge) as opposed to on the 4th floor (where the other CL rooms are) It's possible that non-DVC people get a wider selection of toiletries but that's the only thing I can think of! It's certainly different to a normal DVC stay in that you get daily mousekeeping and a turndown service.

I'm not so certain on your last question as there's only DH & I but I've never seen anything to indicate that the extra adult charge kicks in for the club level rooms so I would imagine you'll be fine. I would have thought that if it did someone would have mentioned it somewhere on here by now.

Do I need to call DSS with my credit card information if my credit card is already saved in my MDX account?

Hi all - My question is regarding reserving a cabana at GF. We are planning on spending our first day at the pool and wondering for those that have done the cabana before - would you do it again?

I haven't done the cabanas at the GF yet but my husband and I had one at the Poly back in 2013 when they still had them (not the new things they have at the Oasis pool now) and we loved it. One of the most relaxing days of our lives though that may have more to do with the fact that our three children were back at home with their grammy. ;) We had it booked for midtrip which was good because it took us a few days to remember how to "be" without children. If they still had these at the Poly I would without a doubt book one for our upcoming trip.

Imo the better views are higher up now because of the bungalows.

I agree :).

Here's an example of a third floor room view....(note, this was before they put the fence along the water)

Beautiful pic :cloud9:.

Please add us to the guest list, stay at the YC CL Sept 16-22 :)

Hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

Hi all - I am in the process of changing our stay from Yacht Club cl to GF cl. (mainly due to construction lasting longer than was originally indicated at the YC). My question is regarding reserving a cabana at GF. We are planning on spending our first day at the pool and wondering for those that have done the cabana before - would you do it again? If yes, is this something that I should reach out to DSS for - or is this something that is booked at time of check in at front desk? TIA!

I can't comment on the cabana, but wanted to say I hope you have a great time and enjoy GF CL :goodvibes.

Hi All -
New to club level and have a couple questions. DH and I are DVC so have never looked to stay CL. A few weeks ago we were planning a last minute pandora preview trip and I was stalking DVC availability and lo and behold, AKL CL popped up as available!! Literally one month before our trip. So of course I booked it!

How exciting! Hope you have a great time :wizard:.

i booked a cabana at GF for a 1/2 day on our upcoming August trip. The 1/2 day was $211 and a whole day was $318. So I do believe they must raise the price in the summer! I did have to pay for it upfront but DSS did say that I could cancel 24 hours before with no penalty.

I wouldn't wait til check in if you really want it. Someone reported not too long ago that she went to reserve one & there are none available for her date. So they do book up in advance.

As a side note, I really wish they would put a couple cabanas in at the Y&B club. We aren't big pool people & only spend an hour at a time in the pool when we stay at other resorts. But we spend more time in the pool at Y&B & would definitely book at least a half day every trip. Come on Disney-- you're losing money here, lol!!! :rotfl2:

So - Dh and I are staying Poly LV CL, arriving (from a local conference) the afternoon of 11/4, departing on 11/8. I haven't had that many nights at WDW in years - at least, not so many where I was not accompanied by nephews/nieces :). We have several ADRs we'd like - the one I am most concerned with is Cali Grill. I have to travel for work on the day that our ADRs become available, and I am likely to be "up and at 'em" at 3 am our time (California), but I am wondering if it is additionally beneficial to ask DSS to do this? I know that there is not likely to be much available by the time I can book - but otherwise, I am happy to do it myself. Many thanks!

DSS can def help you with ADRs but keep in mind ADR window opens 6 am online and 7 am phone, and DSS doesn't come in until 9:00 a.m. all EST. I doubt Cali Grill will be sold out in that time frame, but I suppose anything is possible. I would drop them an email and request they book it for you and if you happen to be awake before then, then when they go to book and see you made your reservation already, they wont change it :)

Ooh, gotcha. I didn't realize I'd be able to get to it earlier than they can (I will definitely be awake, sadly. I should ask for a freakin' raise). I'm sure it won't be sold out, but I would really like to make a res for around 8, not 5 or 9:15 ;). Thanks very much!

Sorry if someone else already responded, but yes... you do need to call DSS with your credit card info even if it's saved as your card in other parts of Disney. I sometimes laugh at how many times I've given my exact same credit card number for various things and how many times I've checked that "save this card" box, but I guess I appreciate the security aspect of them always asking.

One thing to note, you do have to call DSS with your credit card info - you can't do it over e-mail for security purposes.

Hello, I have a question about the Deluxe CL rooms at the BWI. I know the lounge is on the 4th floor but the balconies look much smaller on the 4th floor rooms vs the rooms located on the 3rd floor is staying on the 3rd floor much of a unconvience?
Should I request a room over the BW Bakery or the ones nearer the Flying Fish?
TIA

The balconies are not big on the 4th floor - but they are fine. We love the BWI Deluxe rooms. I love sitting on the balcony with a cup of coffee early in the morning. We don't use the balconies that much - just mostly me and one of our kids in the morning - since I get up much earlier then DH. Enjoy the BWI - we are going to the BWI too this summer in a Deluxe room.

I think your questions have been answered, but nice score on a AKL DVC CL room - I always read about those being nearly impossible to get, so good work!

I've asked about this on other threads and always seem to get inconsistent info, but I 'think' you do indirectly pay for CL through your annual dues, if you own at AKL. Not sure if that is accurate, but it would make sense that some prorata share of CL costs is somehow included in the annual DVC budget there. But, way outside my level of expertise so I'll happily admit I could be wrong.

PS: I may or may not also be working on a Pandora AP preview trip as well! :rolleyes1

My wife stayed in a BWI Deluxe Room back in Feb. Her room was on the third floor, I think more towards the Bakery than Flying Fish. I asked her if being on the 3rd floor was inconvenient. She said "yes, it was until we found the staircase you could take up to four, otherwise it was a long walk to the elevator." She was pretty down on the access to the lounge until she found the staircase - after that she said it was fine.

Thanks I will request the 4th floor and cross my fingers, since I have mobility and breathing issues so could not use the stairs unfortunately

That makes total sense- it is just crazy to think that we scored such a cool perk for only 40 points per night!!! We can't believe it!!

Thanks so much everyone for answering all of my questions. I have enjoyed reading this thread and I am worried that this is going to become an expensive new way of doing Disney!

FYI - we were able to add additional adults to our reservation, no prob. There really have been no differences between CL and abnormal stay. Still hard to believe!!!
