Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Yeah, I don't know why I do this...it's silly. I could obviously save thousands by not staying at the Poly period, but we like to do vacation a certain way and we really do love CL. So, I'm gonna pay for it! :rotfl:

We haven't done CL since 2014, so we are due anyway, right?!?! :hyper:

Oh definitely!!! And I think because it has been 3 years since CL, you might even add a few days.:rotfl2::thumbsup2

We had a view of the Eiffel tower and the tops of Illuminations. Our rooms faced the quiet pool. You will love BWI, the CMs blew us away. It was like being "home", and I miss it there terribly. We are returning to YC CL next week, and although YC is lovely, they can't come close to BWI IMO. YMMV. They've really stepped up with the food there as well. I've stayed GF (SL and RPC), WL, AKL, YC, BC, Poly, and BWI CL and BWI is tops.

I love reading this about BWI CL. I haven't stayed BWI CL, but it is on my list as I'm always reading great things about it :goodvibes.

We have done a few CLs (Poly, GF RPC and BWI). I have to say that service and food offerings- BWI blew them ALL away! The CM that work in the lounge and check-in are some of the warmest and most attentive people I have ever met in my travels. We are going back in November. Our last trip we were in a standard (although I feel it was upgraded) but we had a view that overlooked the main courtyard and the GIANT Christmas Tree and lake. We thought it was a Fantastic view for a standard. My parents also stayed BWI CL in a standard room with us- they were across the hall with a view of the eiffel tower and gardens below- they had a nice view of Illuminations (the high fireworks). Honestly, you will love it!

Thanks for your input on BWI CL. Hope you have a great time in November :).

Disney is now listing the phone number on their website. When you view a club level room there is a button for club amenities. The number is there, 407-939-7777.

Thanks for this information :flower3:.

FWIW, I've been using DSS to book some things that I don't like to call about such as cabana rentals and such. I continue to be impressed and am enjoying having this service back. I'm sure like with IPO you'll get the occasional dud CM, but so far it seems like a good setup to me.

Good to hear the new DSS is getting positive reviews ;).

So speaking of DSS and their outbound calls.... I just got a call from a "Lake Buena Vista, FL" number. I was just sure it was Disney calling to let me know I had been upgraded to a suite on my next stay or we had been chosen for a soft opening of Pandora. My mind raced with anticipation/excitement as I answered the phone.

Alas, it was just DSS. They were calling about the second leg of a split stay I have booked, no reference to the first leg (which makes sense since they are separate reservations in Disney's system). But just shows the continued randomness of the calls. :-)

Someone posted recently about getting a DSS call from a CM who was nice, but very awkward on the phone. I may have just had this same CM! Super nice and all, but talked SO FAST and totally messed up whatever script she was reading. I eventually had to cut her off and say thanks, I'm all good! I kinda felt bad for her, so nervous!

No big deal since I know what I'm doing, but I have to admit if I were a first time CL guest I'm not so sure it would have made the best impression?

For full context, my other brief DSS calls and e-mails to date have been top notch with CM's I found to be total pros. I might not have even thought twice about this one call today if someone else hadn't posted about the same thing!

Thank you! Do you possibly remember much about their alcohol selection? Were mimosas an option in the morning?

I didn't check out the beer- but wine was 2 red/2 white- i remember a pinot noir and merlot/chardonnay and something else..cordials was the CL usual suspects...mimosas were an option in the AM

Hey CL friends, I just wrote up a post on our blog about why couples visiting WDW should consider staying CL. I figured I'd share since all of us here know how necessary CL is. :rotfl: It's http://www.wdwfor2.com
I had to skim but just wanted to add that mom and daughter trips apply for the most part too.

We love having time away from dad and bro and getting spoiled :)

Thanks tho I'm enjoying your ride!

What's next?

You're so right! I hadn't even thought of mom/daughter (or mom/son, dad/daughter, dad/son, etc etc etc!). That has to be so much fun for you both.

We'll be back "home" at CR Tower Club in September, with a Disneyland trip soon after that. First trip to DLR!

Ooh we loved dl last year our first. Dd going back in June and I'm jealous.

It is wonderful there, so ancient ! We loved using paper passes again and parks are adjacent so we really ran back n forth all day.

We were at DLH and loved it. It's hard to get info tho compared to here. I read signatures and pm'd anybody that had dl in it. Of course everyone was super helpful. That made a huge difference.

Hydroguys threads r a must read as well!

Oh I totally forgot I used to do mom and son until he got bored with me.(after13) He loves mom and sibling trips. Something about dad not there makes them happy.

Hey @Ewoks, random question but do you happen to have a 2017 "rate sheet" for CR that has the Tower Club rooms on it? I've seen rate sheets at Poly and GF that have all the rooms and rack rates listed, even the suites they don't show online. Does CR have that too? TIA!

We actually brought one home last time we stayed, but for the life of me I can't find it anywhere. I'll look some more and if I do find it I'll post it here. They definitely do have one though!

@trishadono we are actually planning on staying at DLH! We just love the history of it all and figure it'll really help wrap us in the "Disney bubble." I'm already excited.

:offtopic: You'll love it then! I stayed there for the first time in Nov! (But not CL, though CL gets good reviews from a DLR perspective.) I'd encourage you to look into the Happiest Hotel on Earth Tour:
Discover how the Disneyland Hotel was a part of Walt Disney’s dream of the “Happiest Place on Earth” during a one-hour walking tour. Recommended for Guests 14 years of age and older, this fascinating journey through the history and design of the Disneyland Hotel is complimentary. To reserve a spot, stop by the Guest Services desk.

The tour was about 1 hour and the CM was very knowledgeable, they run it a couple times a week so if you're interested ask about it on your arrival day to get it scheduled. While it's not the sort of thing one repeats we loved it, we'd never seen much of DLH before then and certainly didn't know the history. I do remember we were starving by the time the tour was done so we booked it on over to Trader Sams for some food and grog after! (Pro tip: Trader Sams at DLH has a full menu and is open starting at lunch!)

That tour sounds perfect for us. Thanks for the tips! I doubt we'll stay CL on this trip, simply because we've never been to DLR before and we want to try a bunch of the restaurants and snacks in the parks and resorts. Maybe on our next trip out there, though!

I meant to post this when I got back last month but one thing I don't think has been mentioned very much is that Poly CL had the "texting service" when I was there in Feb. This appears to be the same texting service they offered at GF and some other CLs last year. Not sure if they are doing this in all CLs now?

Anyways, it's pretty much like having a direct texting line to a concierge. I'm not sure if it's DSS or a CL desk CM on the other end? I got the impression it was a desk CM. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

This service used to be more useful when you couldn't make 4th FPs on the app yourself, but I still used it this trip a few times for searching, making, or cancelling ADRs while on the go. Much easier than having to stop and mess with the app, especially when I was changing reservations within 24 hours where you otherwise have to call to cancel.

I tend to plan or move things around somewhat on the fly, so I actually really like this service! They were always very timely with a response.

One thing to note, the texting service was not explained to me at check-in, although that may have been because I said I had been there before so we didn't go through the regular CL intro. I only happened to notice it on the CL info sheet. See below - very easy to miss!
