Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

We have our first CL trip this December at BWI. This is our first stay at BWI too, and the Boardwalk area in general, as we are normally a CSR family (received upgrade for this trip due to CSR business class closing). I've been doing searches to get information but would love to hear from anyone who has stayed at BWI, especially CL, to get their opinion. Good, bad, any tips. We have a standard view room. Are there any requests I should make? Do any of the CL std view rooms have a view of fireworks from the balcony? Thanks in advance!!

We have done a few CLs (Poly, GF RPC and BWI). I have to say that service and food offerings- BWI blew them ALL away! The CM that work in the lounge and check-in are some of the warmest and most attentive people I have ever met in my travels. We are going back in November. Our last trip we were in a standard (although I feel it was upgraded) but we had a view that overlooked the main courtyard and the GIANT Christmas Tree and lake. We thought it was a Fantastic view for a standard. My parents also stayed BWI CL in a standard room with us- they were across the hall with a view of the eiffel tower and gardens below- they had a nice view of Illuminations (the high fireworks). Honestly, you will love it!

Thank you! This is so exciting to hear!! Do you remember much about the food offerings? Were there any issues with bringing food back to the room, especially at breakfast time?

No issues bringing food back to the room- during the day they had little baggies to make trail mix and candy to go. Breakfast was quite substantial (oatmeal, grits/polenta, toppings, fruit, bagels and pastries, lox & toppings, deviled eggs, tons of drink choices, on Sundays they had a chef do omelets and they had a bloody mary bar). Daytime snacks were mini finger sandwiches, snacky type stuff, homemade chips and dips, fruit, etc. Appz were selection of meats/cheese/dips/ crudities, and they had a chef nightly with 2 signature items, and deserts were amazing! Enjoy!

I have a different take on BWI CL than others, so please don't take it as gospel. We were less than impressed overall. For us, it was a mediocre experience. The biggest tip I can give you is to request a room as close to the lounge as possible. The hallways at BWI are the most labyrinthine and ridiculous I've seen in any hotel ever, so if you're really wanting to enjoy the lounge you'll wanna be close by.

The food is great there! Some of the best of any CL on property.

The staff is hit or miss. Some are super friendly, others seem like they really don't want to be there.

I don't know about standard views being able to see fireworks, unfortunately. You can technically see some of the Illuminations fireworks from the lounge balcony, but we found the view lackluster. You can only see the high fireworks that reach above the tree line. But if you don't end up with a good view in your room, the lounge is an excellent backup! Watching some of Illuminations with a glass of wine on the balcony is always nice.

You'll have a great time! There's not a CL on property I wouldn't be happy to be at right now, that's for sure.

Maybe this question is a repeat- but for our May AKL CL trip we have yet to get a call from the new IPO (Signature Services), is this normal? Should we expect one? Whom would we call if we need to get in touch with them- we have some pre-planning to discuss with them.

I was wondering the same thing. We are 50 days out from our GF CL stay and haven't received anything (email, phone call, letter...) yet either.

IPO is now Disney Signature Services (DSS). E-Mail is: disney.signature.services@disneyworld.com

You can e-mail them at any time, just include both of your confirmation numbers in the e-mail, assuming you're sending requests on both reservations. (Although if I can be candid, I'm so anal about room requests I'd probably do it in two separate e-mails at different times just to make sure I don't confuse the CM by dealing with two reservations)

Rooms are assigned roughly 5-7 days out, so you can do it now, or wait. I usually do it once I book just so I don't forget later.

Have a great trip! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I know I have the phone number for DSS somewhere but I can not find it but the 1st post above has the email. I would email any concerns and requests to them.

FWIW, I've now started to see the tag line below towards the bottom of many of the standard e-mails Disney sends you along the way, such as the "Time to Make Your Dining Reservations," "Time to Make your FPs," "Time to Check-In," etc. It's always towards the bottom so can be easy to miss if you're not looking closely.

This is normal, nothing to worry about. I have a few upcoming reservations at various times of the year - some near, some far - and have only recieved one call over a month ago which was a week or two prior to the 180 day mark on the particular reservation they were calling about. Hard to tell the order/logic so far, if there is any!

Although this was somewhat normal even in the IPO days when they would e-mail. Sometimes you'd get the intro e-mail, sometimes you wouldn't.

FWIW, I've been using DSS to book some things that I don't like to call about such as cabana rentals and such. I continue to be impressed and am enjoying having this service back. I'm sure like with IPO you'll get the occasional dud CM, but so far it seems like a good setup to me.

Thank you to everyone for your BWI responses! This is so helpful! I have another question. :) Is it best to contact IPO with room requests such as close to the CL lounge, etc? Are they involved with the assigning of CL rooms? Thanks!

Yes, you can contact DSS (formerly IPO) via phone or e-mail for room requests. It is much easier to e-mail or call them than the main Disney reservation line, in my opinion. This is one of the more convenient benefits of staying CL.

I usually e-mail so nothing gets lost over the phone, but I keep my requests brief and to the point. When DW stayed at BWI CL last month her room request was simply "close to the club level lounge, inside the secured area." If you e-mail, make sure to include your reservation number.

DSS is not involved with the actual assigning of rooms - that's a separate Disney function. Rooms are assigned around 5 days out, FYI.

Hope that helps!

This helps so much! Thank you!!!

We are back from BC, club level.. We were there for 5 days. It was our first time at BC. Not our first time at CL. We have stayed CL at the GF, Poly and Contemporary. So I have plenty to compare to.

This was by far my least favorite club level experience. The food was the same almost every day. Same snacks (which is normal, I know)...Same breakfast (one day it was ham slices, one day roast beef, and one day salami was the only difference). Same for evening snacks and desserts. Always the same foods! I was shocked. The food was just meh, for me. There were a couple employees who were very friendly but most just went about their business.

Our room was in a great location-we weren't far from the elevators or the club, which is nice with 3 young kids. But mousekeeping was terrible. Most days we'd come back from the park around 3:00 and our room would still not have been made up. I love coming back to a freshly made up room so this was always disappointing. And to top it off, they consistently left 4 towels. There were 5 of us staying in the room. Hello!! Never any towel animals or "magic". My kids even commented on that.

Another thing-coming back from the parks the other day I noticed our neighbors had room service trays sitting outside their room. Those room service trays were STILL there the next morning! And were still there again after we had breakfast. I just can't believe NOBODY stopped to pick up these trays! It was gross!!

I need to just stop trying different resorts and go back to my favorite, the GF.

This was pretty much our experience at BC CL as well. It's our least favorite too. I mean, just compared to the others.

Can anyone tell me the current beer and wine offered at BC in the lounge? Also can anyone confirm or deny that they do offer milk or juice in cartons/bottles? I just read an old TR (2015) and it was mentioned that they do not, which I thought was really odd.

Thank you! Do you possibly remember much about their alcohol selection? Were mimosas an option in the morning?

Any chance the summer discounts that will be out soon could lessen the pain? Yeah, 9 nights CL starts to get a little pricey, no doubt! Have you thought about splitting with another resort/CL that's not as expensive as Poly CL?

When I start thinking rationally like that, I look at my photos and drift off to this beautiful setting, think about the peaceful calm of the lounge first thing in the morning, the wonderful view, the great times we've had here...

Sorry, I'm a total enabler.

Mousemommy, I'm definitely not a good person to ask!!!:rotfl2:I'd loved our Poly CL experience I would move in if I could afford it....:woohoo:

The offerings are new and improved, I know @Dispro1 posted some pics I think early February (I'll try to go back and find them). We NEVER had an issue bringing food back, we are a family of 7 and the CMs encouraged us to take lots of stuff (including bottled water for the parks). My DS16 was in Heaven, I was like "Brandon don't eat all the snacks" which was followed up with Cms saying "Brandon eat all the snacks :) "

Yeah, I don't know why I do this...it's silly. I could obviously save thousands by not staying at the Poly period, but we like to do vacation a certain way and we really do love CL. So, I'm gonna pay for it! :rotfl:

We haven't done CL since 2014, so we are due anyway, right?!?! :hyper:
