Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

The pool was one of my concerns. Did you have any problems getting in? WL has a small pool so that concerned me too. We stayed WL before the DVC addition and enjoyed it. I'm hoping they ease up on the pool restrictions.
We were at the WL on Wednesday for lunch and we saw that the main pool was closed for capacity limits around 1:30pm in the afternoon. So they do close that one, too.

Wow, thanks. I'm actually shocked. I figured once the resort side opened it would be an issue but not now with only dvc side open.
The weather has been hot and the parks are very crowded right now. The pool area isn't very large to begin with. I can see why people would rather spend time at the resort pools right now.

Granted this is just a moment in time snapshot, it’s a Saturday, etc, but I think I’m going to move to Orlando and start a car service.

Do we get a dis discount or guaranteed ride? 😆
That was pretty accurate the week before Easter. $60 was the cheapest to go from CR to epcot in the afternoon. No rain, just an ordinary day. I then tried lyft and it was maybe 20 but no car picked up my ride in the 5-10 minutes I waited until a bus came (there was a couple there who said they were waiting for maybe 40 minutes for a bus so that's what prompted me to check uber). I would randomly check when we were heading to the parks and uber was inflated majority of the time. I remember paying less then 10 for a ride a few years ago (then a real tip of course). Miss those days.

Ok, I missed the Twitter part. Is that for real? Holy cow! I've been debating DME for August, think I will just book a car now. That's insane!

As they said, it's a snapshot. It's 11am on a Saturday - peak flight arrivals at MCO are midday. If you're early in the morning or later at night, it can be a totally different picture. I was there at like 8am on Friday, Feb 12 (Lunar New Year abutting Valentine's Day abutting Presidents' Week and Mardi Gras) and walked right onto the bus and we left within 5 minutes. (I was going to be the last one, but just as the driver was closing the luggage area one more couple came and so they were put on the bus.

And there were busses waiting in spaces and waiting to pull in when another bus pulled out.

It all depends on when you're arriving and how many other people are landing at the same time.

I had a 6am from Newark last time, with no checked luggage. We were quick. There were maybe 6 or 7 behind us, but it was only 9am tops. August we will be there around noon on a Sunday. I'm guessing that will be busy.

Yeah, Sunday will likely be busy. I was on the first flight out of EWR on a Monday for my July trip getting in before 9, then they condensed flights I guess and moved me later. So I got the one time change with no fees ability and moved it to a flight the day before - I'll stay at the Hyatt in MCO and hop down early early for DME on my arrival date. (I found an earlier flight on that morning on another airline and gave DME that info. LOL.)

We have arrived around 11am and I find the ME line soooo long i just skip it.

Taxis are stationed at each resort fyi. DD gets frustrated she doesnt have an APP for that but the prices are consistent and there is always been one there waiting.

We have done that to get to parks at times.

I don’t necessarily love moment in time blog posts like that as it’s certainly not like that all the time. I could go in the parks or to the airport anytime and take a photo or use a camera lens of something for that specific moment “looks bad”. Although that’s not to dismiss the experiences of those people who are in fact there in that really long line on a weekend when arrivals are abundant.

That being said, that’s one of the reasons we like using a car service. I’m a time is money kind of traveler - when we arrive... it’s bathroom break, grab the bags, and I want to be outta there pronto!

When I try to click the link it says "Something went wrong. Try again." Would you mind sharing what it says or shows?

Edited: I was able to use my phone instead to view it and YIKES, that is a long DME line!! :scared:

I had an 11 flight and jetblue moved me down lol. I used the free change to add a day on the back end and now are doing 3 nights universal.

I'm usually a DME girl. I like the "movie" and I've never really waited. That said, my return time last month was 3 1/2 hours early and we all have tsa precheck so I did book a car back. It was so much nicer. Think I will do book that this week. Before I even know which resort I'm staying at😆

We are the same kind of travelers - thus why we book concierge/club level whenever it's possible. We ended up opting out of DME this last trip. We usually arrive the night before our trip 'officially' begins (go go west coast travel). Typically, we'd haul our luggage to DME in the morning from the Hyatt and then go park. This year I got a car and do not regret it for one moment. We also got a Lyft to the airport on the way back and it was a nice not having to leave 3 hours before our flight. We have CLEAR and any way I can minimize sitting around the airport twiddling thumbs is good.

Without the luggage service they used to provide, I see no point in taking ME back to the airport anymore.. as you said, 3 hours of sitting around, no thanks. I'll be sitting enough as it is in the terminal, on the plane and in the car back home.

The luggage service certainly was a nice perk. I'm wondering what the cost of the new MEARS solution is going to be next year. Sounds like they plan to have a luggage service as part of their offering as well as more private transportation which I hope translates into not having to leave quite so early to get to the airport.

I'm not holding my breath on that one. Bags, the company that would check our luggage in for the airlines from the hotel did nothing but that. They had systems connected to the airlines to verify reservations, names and flights. They took on the burden of making sure the bags were connected by ID, were acceptable for the airlines, and any fees were charged appropriately.

Mears is a people moving company, not a luggage service company and if they try, they not only have to upgrade the technology and train but iron out all the logistics of bag service at the hotels as well as airport.

I've read others who feel the same way: When Mears says they'll offer luggage as part of their service they probably mean we get to fetch and lug our own around and they will very nicely put it on the bus for us (as they do already).
