For those of you who read my previous Gran Destino reviews, this also helps give a better idea of where our room was. If this were the 14th floor, our standard CL room would’ve been the one immediately to the right of the triangle suite on the left. Room 9433. Great view from there!
Also—since you posted an evacuation route photo...I never think of looking at evacuation routes, but we did awake to a loud evacuation notice at 5am on Sunday morning while we were there. A pre-recorded lady’s voice was (ironically)pleasantly, but loudly, saying, “Please evacuate the building.”

Not a fun thing to wake up to on any morning. I peeked into the hall to find all of the hallway double-doors shut. (We were near 3 sets bc of being close to the elevators.) DH went into the stairwell to make certain we were alright while I called the front desk. The desk let us know—after holding for about 3-5 minutes—that it wasn’t really an evacuation, thank goodness. The reason they gave was completely different from what the CL CM told me the next morning; desk said workman accidentally did it but CL said it was a ventilation issue in the kitchen upstairs. I tend to trust what CL said was correct. That morning, CL hustled to get breakfast out earlier than usual because so many people had already been up so long. I thought that was very thoughtful. We were also told by CL that everyone affected by the evacuation issue would be comped that night’s stay. I was impressed by that. I also learned from that situation that I will always check for stairs near me in hotels from now on & keep my shoes near the bed just in case.
