Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

You're welcome! RPC is great, especially if you spend a lot of time in the lounge as it's a very relaxing atmosphere :cloud9:. On the other hand, SL is the most convenient for pool time. I don't think you can go wrong with either one, but for a lot of pool time, SL might be the better choice :).

Lots of great choices...can't go wrong with any of them ;).

That's a tough choice when you don't know when you'll be able to get back. With that said, I'm one who would rather wait until the hype wears off a little...lol. I don't mind crowds too much as I just go with the flow, but the thought of those massive crowds there just for SWGE doesn't sound like a very enjoyable time....especially if it's hot and humid . Good luck with your decision, but I'm sure you'll have a great time no matter which dates & resort you choose :wizard:.

I think the reason it's so tough to decide is that it caught us by surprise. When we were thinking about a September trip, SWGE wasn't supposed to be open yet so we were planning a quick and more low-key trip since the kids have a 4 day weekend. But then they announced the early opening and I wasn't quick enough to get a discount for where I wanted to be - Epcot area...But then if felt like we should take advantage of the unexpected opportunity and then just go back in a year or so when both rides are open, but it wasn't part of the plan to begin with so maybe we should take advantage of the great AP rates in the summer...Ok, I'll stop rambling now! Thanks again for the helpful info!

I thought it was you but I wasn't sure, lol! Wow, that really is stunning! Ok, I was leaning toward Poly but this is a tough call!

GF is simply amazing. Especially when you are in RPC... the band playing, the relaxing atmosphere, the food and especially the mimosas!! I highly recommend it!!

I did love Poly though, but in a different way. It’s such a fun atmosphere! I think it’s more family oriented, as well. Full disclosure, I did not stay club level last summer, we used our DVC points. But we did have Poly CL booked three years ago, but I canceled it when I saw the menu! I’m such a horribly picky eater and probably would not have eaten much there. 😕

Good luck deciding!!! It’s definitely a tough one!!!

Did you get this? Because I used the link and got nothing. emailed the help desk and they told me this:

Exclusions: Cash Back is not available on computers/laptops, Sam's Club Travel, Sam’s Club Pharmacy, in-store pick up (Click 'n' Pull), Tires, any merchandise or service listed under the “Services”........
Weird, I didn't initially, but I submitted the online form with my order text, and got the $12.99 in my account. Mine coded as entertainment on my CC. Could that be why?

Oh thanks! I have been kicking myself for not using ebates. WHEW.

lol

I think it's more likely that the rep didn't research/wasn't aware of that particular rule. :shamrock:

I forget ebates A LOT. I could be so much richer by now... I have the popups activated on my computer so it reminds me, but sometimes I get sidetracked and don't use the link properly and it doesn't get credited. One time I lost a lot of credit, like $150 (computer purchase! be careful at Christmastime that you are using ebates) and they sent me a (fractional) goodwill gesture credit for my pain. They could see that I had activated an ebates shopping trip but then for some reason I didn't use the link. Or something.

I was mia here yesterday. In case you missed it the AP rate went up, wayyyy up. I found a thread about it and got good info.

Sams club still has passes.!!!

With tax I paid 924.78 which is $256.96 less than new rate of $1194.71 with tax.
I had no idea that Sam’s club sold annual passes! I have been looking into upgrading my family to annual passes next summer, but now with this price increase it would be like buying 5 passes for my family of 4. I wonder if Sam’s will continue to sell the APs for that rate?

Probably like any other ticket reseller, they get a block of them and sell them till their block is gone and when they replenish, they'll be at the higher price.

It really is, lol! I really want to try GF but Poly is kind of my sentimental favorite and we haven't stayed there in probably 6 or 7 years. And the discount for the Poly, while less than GF, is not bad, especially when one considers that the Poly discounts are often quite meager! I hear what you're saying about the food choices. My husband and I would be fine, but I'm a little concerned about my kids, however they've done great the two times we've done CL at AKL, where there are some less "traditional" offerings. Plus they could always grab something from QS and bring it in to the lounge if there's not enough that they like. They are getting more adventurous as they get older!

hmmmm, I just realized if we switch our Sept/Oct trip to August, we will also be giving up MK's *48th* anniversary! Could be missing some great 48th anniversary merch, lol! :scratchin J/k...

I can see how the August opening caught you off guard, kind of throws a wrench into a low-key trip :(. The AP discounts are hard to pass up on some of the deluxe resorts. I just got back from a week at the YC, but after pricing the AP discounts, it's making me consider booking a short 3 nt weekend trip mid August :rolleyes1

Just thinking about it is making me wish I was there now :cloud9:.

Sounds good to me - these summer rates are tough to resist!

I also now realize I will miss the last Illuminations if I change, however I view seeing the last Illuminations as having both advantages and disadvantages, as I'm sure that will be another big pull for crowds!

So, clearly Disney IT is having some type of empathy with my GF/Poly dilemma. I just called to put a Garden View CL Poly room on hold so we can make a final decision, thinking it's the most likely to sell out. Well, there it was for me to behold, but the CM could not see it on her end. I put it in my cart, gave her the cart ID # and she said on her end it showed as a GF Main Bldg standard CL room! Very strange! :rotfl:

A decision has been made. Madame Leota has spoken for you. OMG that’s crazy!

"Wizards and witches, wherever you dwell...
Give us a hint...by ringing a bell!"

Apparently she would like us to dwell at GF! We shall see, but very strange!

ETA: I just plugged in my dates again, and there is the Garden View Poly CL room, mocking me. :scratchin Maybe I shall try again tomorrow...

Update on AKL construction as promised!

Don’t hate me, but I don’t know the names of the “trails” and areas since we always just stay on the 6th with DVC. But...I do know that the entire side facing the savannah is closed off due to noise and apparently they were taking tons of bookings knowing that there would be construction but not realizing how disruptive it would be, so they have had to move a lot of guests this spring so far for this reason. The side facing the pool is all good. I was told that they should be done within a couple of weeks.

Sorry- I’m not meaning to sound cryptic, I’m just passing on what I was told about the state of the resort and I’m not familiar with the hotel rooms, so this is all I have :(.

They have the ice cream fridge at YC/BC. Individual chocolate and vanilla Edy's ice cream containers and Olaf bars (they are ice not ice cream). Not sure if it's anywhere else but no Mickey Bars, in any case.
Is this new? I don’t remember seeing the ice cream fridge.

Not sure how new it is, but our friends were staying BC CL last June, while we were at BCV, and they had brought down Edy’s Ice Cream to the pool from the lounge. They were cute little containers!

Yes they are! LOL

I forgot about Illuminations ending. I agree, that will probably have a huge crowd!
