Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

FWIW We (ahem, *I*) couldn't pass up the AP rate at the GF this summer so that's what we've got booked. We're in SL as I'm not 100% sure DDs 12 & 16 would appreciate the main building at their ages. BOTH my girls love CL so there you go. My dates are in my signature...my younger DD will be going into 7th in September when we return.
Yep dd loved sl . Her 1st was end of Jr year. She ate her weight in scones lol.

Good people of the CL thread...I have been away for a while because a.) I had some issues with my "milestone" CR stay in January that bummed me out, and more importantly b.) this is the only thread that sometimes I can't handle when I don't have a trip planned! But here I am with questions...

To summarize...upgraded to an AP in January as I was breaking even, thinking I would throw together a trip in September over Rosh Hashanah to make it "worth it", except the SWGE early opening caught me off guard so I missed the discounts that were offered and somehow ended up with a rack rate reservation. So now with the news of the increase of APs, I don't think I will renew being out of state and such. So, given that only one SWGE ride will be open on my current dates, I'm thinking instead of paying rack rate, I want to take advantage of the summer discounts with my AP and then just plan a trip for later down the line for SWGE (especially since summer dates would be more relaxing, easier to fit in with school and such). For what I am paying in Sept for BC with no view and no CL I can essentially do what I want in terms of CL, give or take...

So on to my questions...both my daughter and husband really want to stay at GF, or as my daughter calls it, the Grand Falalala. We've never stayed there so the room categories are tough for me to judge. Is there a huge difference between CL Outer Building and Main Building? Would I rather have "worse" view at Main Building? I hate to ask, but is it "worth" it to splurge on the "good" view at the Main Building?

Or do I disregard them all and book the Poly?? It's a great discount for the GF so I feel like I should give it a shot, but we haven't stayed at the Poly in years so I feel a tug that way...any opinions appreciated! :flower1: Thanks!

(Feel free to offer opinions regarding my choice of changing my dates forsaking SWGE as well if so inclined - I am struggling about whether it's the right decision, and I really don't have anyone to bounce it off of! I'm a huge SW fan - as is my son - but given it's only one of the rides, not sure it's worth it?)
Me again lol.

Poly is my fave with gf a close 2nd. I will book one and visit the other every single time. I walk/boat/mono to the other every day.

When staying at gf dd and I will often eat lunch at poly. Leaving a park just get off bus at poly . Even if you do t do lunch get a dole whip or lapu lapu and stroll the grounds.

That’s what I love about mono resorts, easy access all around!

I think dd even ran to cc’s and grabbed Tonga toast once and brought back to the lounge for a snack. Her and Ds got sushi and brought back to gf too. I have grabbed a burger from GGG and brought up to lounge to eat. I love main building 5th floor. The views and quietness are an amazing combo!

My daughter was asking me if the CL at WL had Mickey Bars. Has anyone noticed if they are available there or would we need to head down to Roaring Fork / The Mercantile?
They have the ice cream fridge at YC/BC. Individual chocolate and vanilla Edy's ice cream containers and Olaf bars (they are ice not ice cream). Not sure if it's anywhere else but no Mickey Bars, in any case.

I was mia here yesterday. In case you missed it the AP rate went up, wayyyy up. I found a thread about it and got good info.

Sams club still has passes.!!!

With tax I paid 924.78 which is $256.96 less than new rate of $1194.71 with tax.
omg you are kidding...

I looked on Sams Club website, didn't see passes?

Cutting and pasting from a post on the TPAS board. Have not tried it personally. Others reported it being a bit tough to find.

Click on the travel/services tab at the top, then WDW, then there’s a tab on the side for ap’s.
Thanks it worked...

Got reservation # in about 15 minutes and was able to assign in MDE, still able to reassign.

Thank you so much for saving me all that moneyyyyy.... was going to buy at least one ticket soon anyway! :wizard::cheer2:pixiedust:

Oh I was thinking you were considering outer building TPV or club level.

I’d pick cl over that view.

For sl it’s either garden/pool or marina with upon request not bookable options.

Main building rpc does have TPV as a bookable option. It’s a straight shot over the area and you can hear HEA music that piped in from Gaspies below.

I prefer std rpc to be closer to the lounge however dd did enjoy seeing her castle from her balcony when we had that area.

Re-reading your reply as I was anxious last night contemplating shifting this trip less than 60 days out (and missing SWGE) and I was unclear in my questions! - I meant I was more debating the two CLs of the GF as I've heard the main building is "better" - but then I was curious about the view too, lol, so your replies help! Like I said, I don't have a good working knowledge of GF, we've just visited a couple of times...

Truth be told I'm Team Poly if we switch the trip...we haven't stayed there in a very long time and we've never stayed CL there, but DD and DH lobbying for GF! But you're right, they are close enough that we can visit the other! We will need to come to a consensus today since I need to get moving if we're going to travel in August!

I know, right? That's why I want to switch the trip, because with the price increase of the AP, I don't think I'll have one for a while and I'd like to take advantage of it! It's tough to resist the GF discount - the Poly's isn't as good, so that's why I'm waffling - seems like a good time to try GF! That's something to think about in terms of the kids and the two different CLs at GF - mine are 12 and 14. They definitely enjoy CL but maybe they'd prefer SL. Either way, they're just excited to go! I definitely need to figure it out today or tomorrow - time's a wasting!

Yes, today is not a good day to book. The weekend rates have been discounted for almost a week, but are up today. They should be changing back to being discounted shortly, if history holds true.

Thanks for this! I'll keep checking and hopefully they'll come back down soon ;).

We arrive there Friday, so assuming I can spare a moment between my Jungle Juice Mimosas, I’d be glad to update on the construction 😜

Have a great time :wizard:.

I love RPC, but found SL to be just ok. The RPC lounge is spread out and overlooks the lobby below and also has beautiful views of the grounds. The SL lounge is located in the center of the SL building with no windows/views. I love spending time relaxing in the lounge, so SL doesn't really appeal to me as I didn't find it very relaxing to sit in there. With that said, if you will be spending time at the courtyard pool, SL is the most convenient for grabbing drinks/snacks while sitting pool side. I think rooms in both RPC and SL have great views. As far as GF vs Poly, the Poly is my favorite overall, but I do love the GF. Since you haven't stayed there, I think I'd take advantage of the AP discount and give it a try. Good luck :).

Wow! I didn't think they changed prices like that ugh!

I've always priced & repriced trips (weekends included) and this is the first time I've ever seen rates change like this :(.

I did see the main building TPV as a bookable option...but yes, ultimately trying to figure out if I should book outer building or stick with main building...

Just my opinion, but if it's doable, I'd go with main building :wizard:.

Morning everyone! Third morning in a row I’m up at a crazy time. I think I’m starting to get my usual trip/travel anxiety 😕 DH suggested yesterday we should leave a day early to get a head start... of course I had a mid-point hotel and FP booked within 5 minutes! I’m beyond excited and just want to get there already. Counting down the hours at this point...

How fun! It's always exciting to add a day ::yes::.

Truth be told I'm Team Poly if we switch the trip...we haven't stayed there in a very long time and we've never stayed CL there, but DD and DH lobbying for GF!

I hear you on the Poly as that's my absolute #1 favorite, but the GF is a great resort and I don't think you'd regret trying it :).

I agree, the discounts for Poly have been a little on the low side lately. I'd take advantage of the higher discount and try the GF ;).

Thank you so much for this info! Trishadono or anyone know if I can purchase through the Sam's Club website? I put two APs in my online cart then read the small print about getting the certificate via email and presenting it with an ID at will call. Is this Guest Relations in WDW that I would present the voucher? I don't have a Sam's Club near me, so I wanted to double check before purchasing that I didn't need to go to Sam's.

Thank you all again for the wonderful info!

Once you place your order, you will get the will call ticket e-mailed to you. Take the number and link it to MDE (my phone app said I had to do it online). Once it is in MDE, it is completely transferrable and you can use it for discounts and FP+.

If you happen to use Ebates, you can also get 1.5% cash back from Sams. Came to $12.99 per ticket.

Yep that’s what to do. Thx @PolyRob

Thank you very much for the quick and detailed response, Rob! We have Premier APs now, but after our November CR Atrium Club trip we won't be heading back to WDW before spring, and no Disneyland trips planned, so not renewing. I am going to tuck our vouchers away and get a new AP start date when we go in 2020!

Not in CL as of early June. They were at the Mercantile.

Whoa, that’s huge! Do you know if you can buy them online?
