Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

According to Touring Plans, 4839 is also a King bed room and our reservation is for Atrium Club, Theme Park View. I made the request with DSS when they called at 60 days out.
Ah you did not mention that you booked a TPV room. Yes 4839 is also a King Bed room. Normally if a DIS member does not indicate that they booked a TPV that means a Resort view.

I would suggest you also call reservations and have the CM note your 2 requests: 1), King Room, 2). Near Elevator.

Wait a day and then call DSS and ask the CM to verify your requests on your reservation. You will have a 1 in 22 chance of getting 4839 and about a 8 in 22 chance of getting a room near the elevators. DSS is available at 407-939-7777 seven days a week from 9 to 5 ET.

Is there any reason to NOT do the Direct-To-Room pre-arrival check-in?
It really does not matter if you do on-line check-in or not you will have already been assigned a room about 5-7 days before your arrival. If you go with an on-line check-in just make sure that you don't make any requests as they will overwrite your requests already on your reservation.

What may help is if you arrive at the CR earlier in the day. How soon do you plan to arrive at WDW? If you don't get a text or see your room number is 4839 in MDE then you would want to check with the Concierge CM to see if 4839 is available.

Thanks for the info and the tip. We should be arriving around 1pm with the plan to drop off our luggage with Bell Services and head to DS.

In the current era of ever increasing resort rates and skimpy CL discounts, would it kill Disney to make Mickey Waffles a CL standard across CLs? Or at least on a regular rotation? Make it something CL is known for. Just a tought.

Hooray! I know what I’m eating later this week. I know RPC is typically not your jam, how has your stay been?

I sort of hesitate to chime in as my stays these days are brief and I don’t tend to get the full experience.

I’ve probably made this joke/statement before that I like to stay at GF every +/- 3-4 years to remind myself why I haven’t booked there in 3-4 years. I love that it works for so many, but yes, just not my jam. And that’s OK - it’d be boring if we all liked the same things.

I will say the new lounge is gorgeous and incredibly functional. It may be the best physical lounge setting with the abundant seating, multiple floors, the outdoor patio, large serving areas, etc. So many lovely, customer friendly touches. CMs were working HARD clearing tables, refilling foods, and super friendly.

I don’t care for the room renovations, personally. Feels like they cheaped out a bit - so many areas of just another layer of white paint vs. new materials - to me it really shows on the trim, molding, and bathroom. I’ve spent years renovating out the brass in my late 80’s/early 90’s era home and then you walk in a bathroom like those at GF and I’m like “ahh, it’s back!” :-)

GF is a beautiful resort though, always a great vibe and love the abundant dining options.

The physical lounge space is the one thing that sets it apart for me! It’s easy to find a quiet spot, even at the busiest times. I am always so tempted by the new Poly rooms, which are fabulous, but the lounge crowding at that price point has always pushed me elsewhere - although I do RPC less these days. Hope you have (had?) a great trip.

We just got back yesterday from our 2 night CL stay at YC, and even though we enjoyed it, it had to be our least favorite CL stay so far. Now, I only have AKL and WL to compare it too, but the lounge felt a lot more crowded (maybe because it's a smaller space) and had more of a "cafeteria feel" to it. Plus, the mid-day offerings and desserts at night seemed lacking compared to our other lounge stays. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining in the least, but for the cost of this CL stay compared to the others, I was expecting a bit more wow. The one thing that definitely did wow us was the dinner offerings though. That was the real star of the show! I'm not sure if we'll do CL at YC again, but I'm glad we gave it a try. Does anyone else feel this way?

I think I read that YC rooms and maybe the CL lounge? are getting a refurbishment soon. Maybe some freshening will help.

Also did not enjoy the offerings. Would not pay for it again. Did not feel that way with AKL or poly

If I am being honest, it was both. No one in our party enjoyed it which is not great considering the price. The cast members however, were amazing !
Yes that how we felt on our last YC CL trip in November 2023. Hoping for a CL refresh in Jan 2025 so our next trip in March 2025 will be better. In November 2023, I reported that the offerings were lukewarm, and that I was sick at the end of the trip which I contributed to the food. I do love the CM’s and the YC so I hope things change.

I also got sick after I ate dinner offerings one night, I couldn’t bring myself to try anything else in the lounge rest of the trip. We are trying AKL club again next fall

CMs are great, but YC is not my favorite. I haven’t had issues with offerings, but it has always seemed small and hectic, IMO.

I tend to justify the cost due to the walkable proximity to two parks and nice pools/nearby amenities (which both have value to me), but neither YC or BC CL have a particularly strong “wow factor” with us either. They are passable CL experiences, but I do find I enjoy/appreciate others more when judging the CL part alone. With no views each lounge is a relatively generic space, and IMHO YC/BC have been on a downward trend of late in terms of their offerings. But glad to hear you enjoyed evening apps!

This is sort of silly and not a terribly cost effective reason to justify CL, but I don’t really care for the YC or BC quick service options at all, so the convenience of coffee, water, and other CL amenities steps away vs my strong dislike for the alternative does factor somewhere into my value equation. :-)

Thanks for checking in with your trip report!

Is this true even if you are checking into another resort/room? We are staying at BCV but arrive one night early, so I was thinking of booking a club room for one night at BC. Would we be able to use the lounge on our check in day and then all the way into the evening at 10pm despite switching to a non club-level room? I read somewhere else that once you hit check-out time, your scan card stops working to get into the lounge.
Another person chimed in with more specific advice, but it is worth mentioning that Universal does it this way. You can check-in and get CL access starting at 7am of your arrival day at Universal, but lounge access typically ends at 11am/checkout. Or at least that was the case the last time I asked a few years ago. The manager did say that they would extend it a little if we wanted a place to wait for a few extra hours. That was at Royal Pacific. Other hotel perks like Express Pass and hotel parking continue until midnight.

I didn't ask on my most recent stays at HRH or Portofino, but I am inclined to say both likely have a similar policy.

It has been at least 2 years since I stayed there, but we enjoyed it the last time I did. It has been even longer since I stayed at AKL, but that's how I felt about AKL's CL. It has been over a year since I stayed at WL, but the food and staff there were tops.

If I go back roughly 10 years though, I used to rank WL a bit lower. Before the pandemic, CR and BC were my favorite CL's.

They all seem to change over time!

Definitely agree with your analysis. I do like the YC/BC resort CL but it’s the convenience of the two parks, boardwalk and multiple area restaurants along with the best pool on property even though it will be closed when we arrive in March 2025. The added convenience of walking out of my room, getting coffee, decent breakfast (doesn’t have to be a spectacular array), decent snacks and a few appetizers at dinner is okay with me. I just want them to be hot, not lukewarm. We usually eat out in the balcony so the crowd doesn’t bother be and it is one of the few lounges that has that option.

Agree on all counts. The location is fabulous, which is why I have done multiple visits. It’s DH’s fave, but it’s pretty hard to convince him to go to WDW now.

Myocl at BWI, following in last week’s @trishadono footsteps. Can I finish this cake? Don’t think so. BUT I CAN TRY. Red velvet from Cake Bake - it’s good. The bottom layer is weirdly drier than the rest, but still yummy. It’s Disney worth it for a one-off, if that makes sense. Garden view, so nothing worth looking at other than cake/wine!
