Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

For an early breakfast at Chef Mickey's, is there a bus specifically from CBR to Chef Mickey's? Or do we look for a Magic Kingdom bus and then monorail over to Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary? Thanks in advance. And if you've done this, do we need to be at our bus stop 1 full hour before our reservation? Just wondering. Thanks!

You can take the bus to MK then walk to the CR. And yes, be there at least 1 hour before. And if it is around 7:15AM, try Uber or a taxi and tell them to drop you off at CR.

Been home a few weeks now, and I just realized I never shared my room info. We were in Trinidad North #3119 and we did have the extra fold-down bed. We are a family of 5 so we were guaranteed to get this. This is a first floor room, water view, and it did have a lovely view of the lake and only a short walk to OPR.

thanks. I did today. I was told to try leaving them at bell services, but that won't work. I then asked if I could leave them outside my door. Her reply was it might bother others. Is the hall very narrow?

There are no hallways. You would be leaving your chair outdoors. I wouldn't do it because its likely you will wake up the next morning with your chairs gone for good

thanks. the person I spoke to you at Disney said it wasn't a security issue but I wondered about it a lot.

We haven't stayed at CBR since 1992 so I can't speak for CBR but, in November, at POP Century, we saw wheelchairs and scooters left outside the room with no issues other than dew or rain left on the seats :rotfl:. We had to bring a wheelchair for my hubby several years ago and we always folded ours up and brought it inside.

I saw a lot of scooters and wheelchairs outside at Pop as well when we were there last month. I've never seen one outside the door at the CBR though.

We are making our first trip to CBR in late October. Our flight will not have us arriving at the resort until about 1:30 am.

My DH is a fan of the Dining Plan so our initial package was booked that way back in Feb. before the last round of price increases. Subsequently I booked a room only for our first night so that we can get to the hotel and go right to sleep but not pay for the dining plan on a day we won't use it.

What are the chances that we can "connect" our reservations so that we can keep the same room the whole trip rather than having to check out and recheck in that morning?

I have the same problem. I called and they linked the reservations but my RO is a water view and my dining is standard. They told me we won't know til we get there if they will leave us in the room but they will try to. (The water view was the only one available) I was also told that I will have to go to the front desk in the morning to check out and check in to activate tickets and dining plan. I have stressed about this but I'm sure it will all work out. If you have the same category room I would think you will be just fine!

Thanks. I will call to get them linked. We are starting off slow since we are traveling from Pacific time to Eastern. We are sleeping in on our first morning, exploring the resort and maybe visiting Disney Springs before going to the MNSSHP that night. So, if we have to check out/check in to activate our tickets that's no big deal.

If you are booked in the same room category, I would think you would have a better chance of keeping the same room. Having a 1 night RO water view and a standard for the rest of your vacation may be a little more difficult, depending on if the water view rooms are already reserved by other guests. I am sure it will be all about availability.

I can't speak for CBR but at POP we have had to do a room only ressie a couple of times in the past since we had already booked our flights and then FD dates came out and we had missed it by a day. We got to keep the same room once (we had the same room category booked for both FD and RO) and once we had to move (we had standard booked for FD and the only thing available for the RO only was preferred). It was super simple to move rooms though. We took our luggage, checked in and out EARLY that morning, they kept our luggage, text us our new room number around noon and when we got to our new room our luggage was waiting. I can only assume that they were totally booked in the preferred section and needed our room for the previous booked guests.

Good luck to both of you!!! And have a wonderful trip!

I know I have read this somewhere, but now I can't find it... buses start to run one hour prior to park opening? So if I have a PPO ADR at CP (8:10) will I need to do a uber? We did this one year while staying at value and had no trouble getting there in plenty of time... it's odd to me that we would need a taxi for this. Just wanted to confirm. Thanks!

No, buses start running about 6:30. You'll be totally fine, no need to uber unless you really want to.

Hello!

Travel to CBR resort on 5th August from the UK and we are very excited. Just don't know what to expect as never been to the USA before or Disney. Been watching this thread with interest. Any top tips guys for newbies.

Shall I be requesting a certain area to stay?
Are the dining plans I bought entitle me to the full range of meal options but not alcohol?
Are the parks quiet at night with minima queuing?

More questions to follow for sure so hope you don't mind ;-)

One cm gave me the idea of asking to be downgraded to standard once I get there. Which is fine with me. My RO discount was less then full price standard. Just wish I could have it all done before I leave. I check every day to extend my FD 1 day so I don't have to think about it!

Starting the initial planning of an adults only anniversary trip around Halloween of 2017! DW is already pretty sure we should book CBR again, I was suggesting a split stay as I think for the end of our trip it would be nice to spurge and do a Deluxe (thinking one of the EPCOT ones for Food and Wine fest) but she is not sure it is really worth it...20th anniversary...I might give in and just add more days to the trip :)

Personally, I would MUCH rather have a longer trip at the same resort than moving and going deluxe :cloud9:
