Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

Thanks, may just wait until I get there and buy it there. Or maybe I will stop drinking coffee in the next 6 weeks :rotfl:
I bought the Coffee Mate to go creamer and took it with me. The bottle was so small it was easy to pack, and it didn't have to be refrigerated :)

I posted a separate thread but I was advised to ask here. I'm trying to decide whether or not to order from Garden Grocer or buy from the CBR shop as needed. I'm not from the U.S., so the Garden Grocer prices seem dear but maybe they're the norm. I've just narrowed it down to wanting to buy bagels, cream cheese, cereals and milk.

Thankyou for your help!

ETA: The question!
What I forgot to ask was - can anyone tell me what they cost in the CBR shop, please? It would be great if someone knew. Thankyou![/QUOTE
Another vote for Garden Grocer we have ordered from them seven out of our 8 visits (all on Disney property but not CBR) and have found them to be amazing. The individual fruit is historically the only thing we have paid the same price for on GG as they are changing in the Disney resort stores everything else is substantially cheaper (even though nowadays most items are dearer than here in the UK). You don't mention water but we usually buy multiple cases for something like $8 per case of 24 as opposed to over $2 per bottle in a resort or the parks. The savings pay for all our other snacks on the order and all our USA favourite brands that we buy to bring home :)

I think I messed up my online checkin. We have never stayed at CBR. I booked a water view room. When doing the online checkin, DH was looking at the map and said pick Trinidad North or Martinique, since they are close to the main pool. I picked Trinidad North/upper floor and hit done. Then I thought about it and realized that those are preferred categories. I don't know if we would have booked preferred; I switched to CBR late and water view was available but not preferred. We had preferred booked at POR but have never stayed in a preferred. We have stayed at POR though. We don't mind walking some and don't have any accessibility issues. We also probably won't go to the food court much, but we will probably swim at the main pool every other day. So, long story long, should I bother to change my preference by calling (online won't let me do it) or just leave it? How would they satisfy a request for Trinidad North for a non-preferred booking? If I did change it, what should I change it to? None of the pirate rooms are in the water view category, right? I don't want one of those, because I want queen beds and a door at the sink. We are going 3/14-20, so a fairly busy time. Thanks

How far of a walk would you guess it was to OPR. We have a 10 day trip coming up in June. We just booked standard rooms so I was thinking about requesting Jamaica. We have stayed a POR before in the Royal Rooms and the walk to the food court wasn't too bad. I am hoping for something similar.
5 minutes max since the bridge is back open.

Wanted to just pop in and say hi to the regulars in here..Mickeystoontown, Dandsdad, Kevin and to all Ive missed..alas we will not be at our beloved CBR this year sniff sniff...first time in the last 8 years!! We have decided to try California this year for a change aka Disneyland. I will miss planning with you guys and no doubt miss my beloved CBR. To all who are going first time Im so jealous...you will have a blast so the regulars that are going back...have a wonderful time. Hugs. Pktbmouse.
We did Disneyland in 2000...never again. Nice park, but California traffic is horrendous. Stayed with my wife's Uncle in Woodland Hills...the I-5 is a mess.

Enjoy yourself though...park is smaller than WDW, so it seemed.

I've done both, too, and from western Canada, DL is only a few hours flying time away. However, I'll take the 6 hours of flying to go to WDW every time. California traffic is just one of my reasons! There are others...

Yes, it is possible to have fun there, my sister even prefers DL over WDW, go figure.

I was wondering what is the best way to get to the Poly from CBR? Would it be to take the bus to MK/TTC and take the monorail or even walk right next door? Also, I am assuming that would be the best way to get to the CR as well. We would be taking Disney transportation and Uber is not an option bc we have two small kids that would need carseats if we took uber, but not on the busses.

Definitely! Take the bus to MK, then monorail it to any of the monorail resorts. We did it a few times last week. Sometimes it took 30 minutes, another time it took an hour! Plan accordingly for time. If you arrive at your reservation early, the monorail resorts are lovely to explore!

That is what I thought! :thanks:

Thanks for that chocolateMinnie. I think for the convenience and the fact that at least I'll know what I'm paying up front, I'm going to go with GG too. Love your name :-)

Don't worry, you definitely did not mess up. Trinidad North, Martinique 24, 25 and 26 have 3 room categories. Preferred, Water View and King. You've made great room requests!

Yeah what is with online check in not letting you change your room requests? Same here. I had to call because I wanted to change from "upper room/water view" to "upper room/Jamaica". I called to change my requests and then the day after noticed I had no requests whatsoever. So I did the requests again, but then it went from "bypass the checkin" to now just regular "online checkin". Boo.

We usually request upper floor because I assume it's quieter. However, what are the first floor rooms like at CBR? Perhaps my assumption is not necessarily true. I was thinking I'd rather request 2 specific villages instead of one village and upper floor and take my chances on a first floor room. We've always stayed in a top floor room at POR AB and POFQ. I've also developed some knee issues so perhaps no stairs might be a welcome relief at the end of the day. Thank you CBR experts!

Best way to get to Beach Club from CBR? Bus to HS and then bus to BC?

I would use Uber if you can. The resorts aren't far from each other. If you take the bus to DHS, you will need to either walk or take the water taxi to BC.

Whenever we have an ADR at Cape May we taxi from CBR to BC. Cab will pick you up in the circular drive of your building. It is about a 6 minute trip and is usually ~$12 before tip.

We can't do uber because we would need 2 carseats fro the girls.... so disney transportation it is. I know they aren't far, which is why it is kinda of frustrating because it is too far to walk :( But the water taxi might be fun!:boat:
