Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

We requested Jamaica in our requests and faxed in that request...and we got that. Most the time the buses split the resort. Coming home, if the buses entered the main entrance (making Jamaica one of the last stops, we got off at Old Port Royal and walked to our building...we beat the bus back (we could see the stop from our building) every time.

My one general complaint about the bus situation, is that at the parks, the CBR pick-up location to go home is one of the farthest (and at MK THE farthest) out from the gate. Arrival is fine, they drop you close to the gate, but at the end of the night it was a long walk to the line for the bus. Maybe this has changed in the past 18 months (I doubt it, those signs were as permanent looking as anything ever can be at WDW).

BUT, that really was one of the only complaints or negative thoughts we had about CBR. I would stay there again without complaint...but since it was my choice to pick it for our 2014 trip, form next year we are staying where my wife wanted (but free dining wasn't offered). And then moving to the Dolphin to stay with Starwood points from work travel.

What is the fax number for that. And is there a form or did you just write a nice note ? :)

the fax number is: 407-934-2736...I had to hunt for it on the first couple pages of this thread...Maybe Mickeystoontown can add it to the first post or first page somewhere...it is a very common question.

You will want to fax it no more than ten days before arrival. I didn't use a form as I was afraid it wouldn't stand out here is what I wrote:

Re: Resort Confirmation# XXXXXXXXXX

Howdy!

On December 14, my Family and I will be visiting Walt Disney World at your Caribbean Beach Resort. We would be most grateful if you could possibly accommodate our request to be placed in Jamaica Building #46. We requested 2nd floor during online check-in, but would be fine with a 1st floor room in building #46.

We understand that this is just a request but if you can help us out to the best of your abilities we would be ever so grateful. We will be arriving at your resort very soon, and would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide in making our wonderful vacation more enjoyable and magical.

Sincerely,

Photo from our first trip

We got first floor #46...I picked #46 because #45 seems to be the most popular choice here, and I liked being just those few steps closer to the bus stop and the parking lot for unloading and loading the car.

Which rooms in Jamaica 45 standard view? Are they the ones along the back, facing the courtyard?
Are all of the courtyards the smoking areas?

We always have Bell Services come pick us and our luggage up and bring us to The Custom House.

The Standard rooms will either face a courtyard or the parking lot.

No, not all the courtyards are a DSA.

I was in a standard courtyard room in Jamaica 44 last month (second floor) and was pleasantly surprised that I couldn't smell smoke at all. I'd see people here and there smoking. I'm very sensitive to smoke so I was nervous with the location, but it was fine. I think I'd prefer second floor in the courtyard though to be a little further away from the smoke.

Can someone tell me about the Internal Bus system? We are going to be in the Pirates Buildings and I am a little nervous about what we will encounter for walks to the main pool, food courtand at checkout...

What do you want to know? There is an internal bus that does a constant loop. It stops at all 6 Villages, Old Port Royale and the Custom House. You don't need to use it to check out as you can do what we always do and call Bell Services. They will come pick you up, along with your luggage, and bring you to The Custom House.

If you are in the furthest Pirate room from OPR and the Main Feature pool, it will take you 10-11 minutes to walk it at a very leisurely pace. I have done it in 10 minutes with stopping to take about 2 dozen pictures along the way. If you are in the closest Pirate room it will be a 7-8 minute stroll.

do you have preferred room booked?

The options during Online Check In are the same no matter what room type you book. Which makes some of the options irrelevant. That's why we have always phoned ours in so we can request exactly what we want.

Are window decorations popular at CBR? I know at Pop we saw a lot and AsMo but don't remember seeing much at POR. Thanks for any info!

I wouldn't go so far as to say they are as popular as at the Values, but guests definitely do decorate them at CBR. There just aren't as many.
