Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

We've never seen any gators. Last trip we saw a black snake in the grass right next to the walkway. It just slithered on by...

5 sleeps and can't contain my excitement any longer!

If someone can answer my wifi question on this page that be great and also...

Has an alligator ever been seen on site or within lagoon?

Will reception help me linking memory maker and magic bands etc to my app?

Thank you. Watch out America... We are nearly on our way!!

Last August we saw a small alligator in the lake near the bridge going from Jamaica towards Old Port Royal.

So, I finally read through the whole board- wow! Great info everyone :smooth:! I saw only one post relating to the question I have, although I might have missed others (I do have to say I skimmed a few posts, it was late at night, lol!). We are a part of a dance studio that will be dancing at *most likely* Disney Springs as part of the Disney Performance Experience. We booked our rooms using the group rate with the program. When I called to reserve I told them our preferences (connecting room, first level). We really don't care where we are in the resort, but it would be nice to be in Barbados near the custom house since we our flight won't be in until late Wednesday evening. Since we won't be able to have our luggage delivered by Magical Express, we'll have it all with us. I'd love to be able to just walk over to the room and it seems Barbados would accommodate that! Does anyone have any experience with groups like this and where they tend to place them in the resort? Not that we have a choice, we will be wherever the group is placed, but I am a planner and would love to know where we might end up.

I think this is the key. Alligators are most active during the warmer months and we typically go in November, January, or March, so that probably explains why we've never seen one. But it doesn't mean they're not there.

Only 55 days till we are home. We are excited to try CBR this year. I had previously called in my request for Aruba building 51 or Jamaica building 45 or 46 and when I did online check in on Wednesday I also requested Aruba or Jamaica to keep it simple. I'm used to POP and can find my way around there with my eyes closed and am hoping to enjoy CBR just as much. :)

Can anyone tell me about transportation to/from Blizzard Beach from Caribbean Beach Resort. I know they changed having direct transportation, but I'm trying to find out if there are any times in which you can avoid the wait for a bus at CBR to ride to AK and then get off and transfer/wait for a bus from AK to BB and then again the return.

If there really is no direct transportation to/BB at any time anymore, then can anyone tell me what time buses start running from AK to BB in the morning. I'm trying to figure out how to still make rope drop for our upcoming trip.

If anyone could give their experiences, with times if possible, of their transportation to/from CBR to/from Blizzard Beach and also Typhoon Lagoon for that matter, within the last couple months it would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

1st time staying at CBR in October and I've heard you can see the fireworks at Epcot from there. Where is the best place to watch? Thanks.

In June (we didn't go to BB) we went to Typhoon Lagoon. In the morning (we were at the bus stop at 9:30 but TL doesn't open until 10) TL had its own bus. It said Typhoon Lagoon on the bus sign. It drove us straight from CBR to TL. On the way home (we left TL at 4) you take the Disney Springs bus. All buses go to Disney Springs so doesn't matter what bus or what bus top you wait at. There were cast members at the exit directing people to the bus. Once at DS then you have to walk the super long walk to the CBR bus stop since it's the last stop! That was where the wait was long. we must have waited an hour. The CBR bus was just leaving when we go there and there was no way we could run it's just too far to make it. So - it's my understanding that in the mornings, TL and BB have their own buses that run from CBR to the watermarks with no stopping. But if you go after noon then you have to switch at DS (for TL) or AK (for BB). Then returning to CBR you always have to go to DS (from TL) and AK (from BB) first then get on the CBR bus back to the resort. And TL and BB are on the bus stop waiting signs at CBR bus stops.

Staying September 24th-October 1st, 2016. When I did on-line check-in I had the option of Trinidad North, which is a preferred room, which we did not book. Is this a mistake, should I request it, or go with my initial Jamaica request with my booked standard room? Counting down the days to the magic!

True...It's Florida... You should assume they are there and stay on marked paths, and be aware of your surroundings if you are in grassy areas, etc.; for snakes and and all wildlife...Last time we were at CSR a squirrel dropped a nut right on my son's head! :duck: We also saw a 4 foot black snake in the landscape bushes outside test track October 2015...Just wanted to be left alone and didn't bother anything. We're on vacation...animals aren't!

The options are the same for everyone, no matter what you have booked.
If you choose Trinidad North but are booked standard, you would just be wasting one of your choices.
I would stick with a choice that has standard room options available.

Just wondered, when we went to CSR and POR they only gave us the options for which we had booked, so I wasn't sure what it meant for CBR when I had more...Wish they could filter, would make life easier...the more choices you have the harder it is!:)

I always call and have them note my requests on the reservation. Make sure your online requests do not contradict (i.e.: don't ask them to put Jamaica 45 on your request the pick Martinique on your online check in). I also still fax in a request, I figure it can't hurt to cover all my bases.
So if you call in and make these requests, can you still check in online, not make any additional requests, and have the advantages to online check in?

Thank you so much for the info. It's such a pain that they don't provide direct transportation, but good to know it's not an issue in the morning at least.

Yup. That's how we do it every trip.
Do I just contact them through the reservation line? I have never made special requests for our past visits to other resorts other than what was available online. Thanks for the help!
