We are going in 75 days! We requested Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51. Should we rent a car or are the busses pretty good? I have a two year old who doesn't like to sit still too long and I worry about the busses cause we can't buckle him in a seat

Buses can be hit or miss, somedays they are great, and arrive quickly, other days (even during the same week's stay) they seem to be behind. renting a car might be an option if you want to be in control of the transportation, and parking near your building is usually pretty easy to get. I always drive to WDW and park the car, take the buses, but if it is easier with a young child I would have considered driving to the parks.

Any advice on a specific building or room to request? And should I request it on phone, online or through touring? Thank you!

Hi all - admittedly not directly a Caribbean question but I will ask anyway. Travelling to universal studios and sea world etc - is the only way by taxi? Are they easy to get and any idea of cost?

Mears has a shuttle, not sure of the cost. But you can look it up on their website.

Uber might be the most economical.

My online check in window has opened. We booked a preferred room. Can I request a water view room as one of my options? or is that a waste because that is a different category. I guess my question really is can a preferred booking have a water view room? I also have a subscription to touring plans and am thinking of using the room request feature there for the first time - any advice on the best way to get the room I want?

I would definitely check water view. There are definitely water view rooms in the preferred sections of CBR and I would definitely use the TP room request. We used it last year for POP, and it worked perfectly! We clicked and added our first choice room to the fax and then edited and added several other choices in the "example" section of the fax (the area that lists several room #'s). We got our 2nd choice which turned out perfect! Just remember, you can edit the portion of the fax that gives examples of rooms so it only includes rooms that you would like to have. Of course the TP room fax isn't guaranteed but it worked for us

The pirate rooms have 2 double beds. Pirate rooms are a separate booking category. It isn't likely that you will be given anything else if you are booked in a pirate room, regardless of what you request in online check in. If you want a regular (2 queen bed) room or a preferred room, you will need to keep watching for that to become available and change your reservation.

While I don't know that we would actually pay to rent a car (we always drive to Orlando from Missouri), we do prefer driving to the parks with little ones. Sometimes the buses are filled and it's a tight squeeze on. We just prefer not having the pressure of folding the double stroller, holding kids, etc while on the bus. I hate when we inconvenience other people while they wait for all 6 of us to get on the bus. I am sure your 2yo will enjoy riding the bus and you can definitely make it work...but if u can get a cheap rental u might like that too.

Also adding that we do enjoy talking to people on the bus, we usually bus to MK.

My childhood was spent with every WDW trip at Poly because it was close to MK and I was obsessed with pirates. I recently saw the pirate rooms, something they did not have when I was younger. This will definitely be my resort for the next stay roughly a year from now.

My childhood was spent with every WDW trip at Poly because it was close to MK and I was obsessed with pirates. I recently saw the pirate rooms, something they did not have when I was younger. This will definitely be my resort for the next stay roughly a year from now.

Don't forget about the pool...if you are Pirate obsessed you will love the theme of the main pool
