Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

Does anyone know if the pool in Barbados has been finished with the new fence/wall? Have all the pools been completed? What are the hours? We used to like to come back from parks and take a nice dip in the pool. Wondering if we will still be able to do that. Thanks

If you're going soon, then it's either already finished, or yet to be done, in which case it will be open.
This is a quote from all the current WDW refurbs list...

My window to do online check in is open. I see that checking water view is an option. I have a standard room. has anyone with a standard checked the water box and got a view?

I believe the options are standard options for everyone, it is my understanding that the only way to get a water view is to pay for a water view room but personally, it makes no sense to offer water view as an option if that is a bookable room category, but those choices may be something that has been in place prior to water view being a room category and just never updated. Hopefully someone will chime in and correct me if I'm wrong :cutie: I would personally hate to waste a request choice for something that I can't get anyway. o_O

Well gang, we are booked for our next trip...only 479 days! Going in Oct of 2017, 20th anniversary celebration (Halloween). BUT, sadly unless there is a special offer and CBR comes in way cheaper, we are going with POFQ this time as DW has always wanted to stay there and we never have...like I said, 20th anniversary so figured I should start listening :)

Those are my thoughts also. Hopefully someone here has the answer.

This is 100% correct! :thumbsup2

I was looking at my other options...ground floor, first floor, upper floor and second floor. That's interesting! Guess the choices are the same for every hotel on property.

I have never ever made a request on online checkin. We got a room right next to the bus stop once (could watch for bus in room and go out and get on). We have gotten corner rooms very often. We have gotten very close to transportation. At POFQ we got a little upgrade to garden view from parking lot view we also have never gotten a connecting room (don't want it). I do online checkin but have decided the lottery gods are good to me and will continue my trend of not making requests. Also I won't be disappointed if I don't get it.

We actually found our favorite location, Jamaica 45, by not making any requests and getting assigned there.

What do your guys think? Ground floor? Top floor? My online checkin is next Friday can't wait!

We prefer top floor. We don't have small children or strollers etc to carry up the stairs. Plus we like the view from up higher while walking towards the stairs or standing by the railing waiting for everyone to get ready.

I definitely prefer top floor, personally, it is more quiet and the I love the view from the top floor. Unfortunately this year we are having to request a first floor room since we are bringing my sweet mama (82 yrs young) with us and stairs are difficult for her.

Depends, we've done both...you risk having people above you that are loud (or the noise of kids running to or from the rooms above you) if you are on the ground floor...but then you also face the stairs at the end of a long park day if you are on the second floor...pick your poison :)

Has anyone had any trouble with smoking areas outside of courtyard rooms? Is the smoking area right in front of your room? The courtyard areas look so nice but I am very worried about the smoke issue. We will have to be on the main floor wherever we are because my dd uses a wheelchair. Any btdt experiences?? Thanks.

I have asthma, have major issues with smoke and never have had an issue at CBR. And every stay we've booked standard and have faced a courtyard.

Do they have connecting rooms at this resort. Can anyone tell me what type of shampoo/conditioner they have there.

Yes there are connecting rooms.

Shampoo and conditioner is H2O brand, blushing orange.
