Sorry I should have been more clear. We are flying from Detroit, so I would stop at an American post office to get stamps to mail the card to canada. Does the usps have different stamps for domestic and international mail? Here in Canada we have stamps used for domestic, stamps used for USA and stamps used for any other country. I just want to be sure the post card gets to canada :)
You can buy US stamps at WDW and they work anywhere. No need to buy stamps prior to arriving. Will cost no more at WDW than a post office elsewhere.

Not last time I checked. If you take a letter in there, they can weight it and mail it first class but no grab and go stamps.

The cast members keep the stamps under the counter in the resort store. I was able to tell them what I was mailing (several different size postcards) and they told me what I needed. They keep a pretty large variety of stamps. I was able to purchase the stamps and take them with me.

Sorry that I haven't been super active on the DIS since our trip but things have been busy around here lately. I am going through the pictures from our most recent trip and found the following that I think may be helpful to some of you. I'll be adding them to the informational posts as well.

Since the room refurb, the refrigerators do have a very small "freezer" section. I put a 16 ounce bottle of cola beside the freezer so that you could get an idea of the size. You can also see that we had two half gallon containers in the bottom of the fridge as well as two cans of Mountain Dew and a bottle of water. The second shelf was stocked with bottled water and juice. The door was also fully stocked. The refrigerators hold more than you would think they can.

Pool noodles are sold in the store at Old Port Royale so I think that it is safe to say that they are allowed in the pools.

Oh and you can see that the coconut postcards are still being sold in the store.

Main Pool hour signage:

The marina no longer rents watercraft but they do still rent bicycles and surrey bikes. The information about the pirate cruise is on the sign as is information about the fishing excursions.

If you are wondering about the stairs in the buildings, they do vary in the number of steps section but they do have wide landings.

Thanks for the info and pics:thumbsup2 Some questions for you:rolleyes1
What's a *coconut postcard?* Is there non biological powder/conditioner available in the laundry vending machines? And is the freezer compartment good enough to keep things frozen for long periods of time say if we got a pack of ice lollies? Oh and the H20 shampoo/conditioner, is it suitable for after swimming or am I better off bringing some with me?:-)

It's a coconut that you can address and send to someone like a post card with "Greetings from Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort".

I don't know what non biological laundry soap is, but if you check out the Laundry Info post (post #10 of this Thread) there is a picture of what is available in the vending machine.

I don't know what ice lollies are but if you check out the post from @mickeystoontown (post #4345) on page 213 of this thread you can see a picture of the little freezer section.

I just about bald so I can't answer personally but my wife is pretty picky about hair stuff and she likes the H2O and does not bring her own from home. Everywhere else we go she brings her own.

We've never printed our boarding passes at CBR before. We are not using Magical Express, and are renting a car instead. I usually check-in online to Southwest airlines at the 24hr mark to get our seat designation, and then just go to the airport to print our passes on departure day. Can we print boarding passes somewhere at CBR if not checking bags and not using Magical Express?

Hi! We are leaving for Florida TOMORROW and will be checking into CBR on Wednesday. DD has gone and broken her ankle the week before our trip so she will be on crutches/in a wheelchair for the duration of our stay. I called the reservation line to ask them to ignore all previous requests so that we could have a first floor room with a shower that has railings. My concern is that most of what I've read says that the hotel layout is so spread out that if you have mobility issues you should really bring a rental car. Renting a car wasn't really in our budget but I'm wondering if I should cough up the extra money if it means having a more comfortable vacation. Has anyone had any experience at this hotel on crutches or in a wheelchair??

Thanks for the replys, but non bio is a detergent for sensitive skin & ice lollies are an ice pop or popsicle or say a Mickey Icecream bar, lol at the language differences:laughing: I have seen the pic of the detergents but can't tell whether some are non bio/sensitive skin ones and I have quoted Mickeystoontown in my post asking about the freezer compartment as I can see what it looks like but wanted to know how well it worked:)

You have 2 options:
The Concierge Desk at OPR or the Custom House.
The Resort Airline Check In counter.

The last trip my grandma made with us she just turned 94 and was starting to slow down so we rented a wheelchair. All other trips before she had no problem wherever we were even with her cane. With the wheelchair we stayed in Aruba and had no issues. I was worried at first because Aruba is across the bridge from OPR and the main pool, but the bridge has a very gradual slope so it was no problem. The good thing is every village has its own bus stop so you are never far from one no matter where you are.

If you're concerned I would physically check in when you get there and let them know what happened and see if they can get you a room close to OPR. I have personally experienced them going above and beyond to assist in situations like yours.

And as a last resort, there is an internal bus that makes a constant loop. We've never felt the need to use it even with Grandma, but it is an option.

Thank you so much!!!

well..while i am so looking forward to staying at CBR for the 1st time during the free dining in 19 days, however, i was able to snag 2 nights before checking in at CBR to stay at the Bay Lake Tower DVC for 2 nights. Am i going to be spoiled going from 'Home away from home' resort to a 'Mod'?? LOL!!! (we were originally going to stay at the Marriott outside Disney for those 2 nights)

But of course, i am not going to parks or utilized free dining during those days either...just relaxing and hanging out by pool and such. and once i check in CBR,, i hit the parks!!! :D

I don't think I would be too spoiled. I would be looking forward to coming back to the room and finding the bed made and clean towels. ;)

I don't know the answers to your questions, so sorry. I will ask you though, do you have detergent "pods" there? I believe they make them for sensitive skin and they are so easy to bring with you. They are tiny and take up no room at all and it will save you a few dollars. I sure am glad you told us what ice lollies are because I had no earthly idea. :confused3 I love it! :lmao:
