Getting very excited, and just wondering does everyone do online check-in? And why or why not?

I have done online check-in. As for the "why", it just as to the excitement for me and also we have an early flight and this way we are already checked in and we can wander around, go shopping at Disney Springs/Downtown Disney. Then when our room is ready I just get a text, hop on the bus and "ta-da"! Our room is ready with our luggage delivered thanks to Magical Express.

So I did online check-in. I've never done that before. When I get to CBR, is there a special desk I go to or do I just wait for the text saying my room is ready?

It depends. There are 3 scenarios.

1. Skip the Front Desk - You will receive an email about 10-14 days out saying that you are able to skip the Front Desk. It will say that if your room is ready when you arrive on property you will receive a text with your room number. If it's not ready, you will receive a text stating it's not ready and will get another one when it is ready. With this scenario you can go to a park without going to the front desk at all and your Magic Bands will work for park entry and any Dining Credits you may have.

2. Streamlined Check In - You would have seen a message after completing Online Check In stating you have been selected for Streamlined Check In. It will detail that when you arrive at CBR you will go to the Streamlined Check In kiosk, hand the CM your ID and they will give you your welcome packet. If you room is ready, the CM will give you your room number. If it's not, it will be texted to you when it is ready.

3. Online Check In - You don't receive an email about Skip the Front Desk and didn't see the message that you have been selected for Streamlined Check In. When you arrive at CBR you will go to the Online Check In Desk and hand the CM your ID. They will give you your welcome packet, if your room is ready you will get your room number and if not it will be texted to you when it is ready.

Thanks! I didn't get the Streamlined message. Though I have to admit, options 2 and 3 don't seem all that different. :) I'll keep an eye out of an email when I get within two weeks.

Are the any variables (eg first time, paid in full, etc) that puts you into one of the three scenarios? Would LOVE to get #1 when we do it. ;)

Thanks for the explanation. Other than going to a the streamlined kiosk instead of the online check-in desk, is there any difference between the 2? I did get streamlined check in. We have an evening flight, so our room will definitely be ready upon arrival.

When we went in December I used the online check-in for the first time. Every other time I had just waited. The difference between the two ways for me...absolutely none. I still had to go to the desk and check in, get my packet, ect. just like I had every other time. The reason I did not do it on any of my previous stays was that I did not want to give them a credit card # for charges to my room. For online check-in, this is a must. Personally I do not want to be able to charge to my band. It would be too tempting and too easy and then I would pay for it later. ;) The last time we went, I called and talked with someone and they assured me that when we checked in I could remove the credit card #. This is what I did last time. I was hoping to get easier check-in by doing it in advance but, it just made no difference with me unlike some others. I don't really know how they pick and choose that stuff. I did online check-in this time again and I will see how it goes this time. We have a much later flight this time so I am hoping I will get to go straight to my room this time. We'll see. :)

We hit the road Saturday AM and we'll get there around 12pm or 1pm as well (depending upon how late we sleep)!

See ya soon! Look for a black subaru with MA plates and a sticker that says "got homebrew?" That's our ride!
see you there!...if you hear a crazy Scottish lady shouting at two Texan kids you will know its me...lol
