Does each building have a smoking section? I have asthma and it would be awful to be near a ton of smoke.

There are no rooms that allow smoking, but each building has a courtyard area where smoking is allowed. My nephew also has asthma, and I wanted to be able to avoid walking past the smoking section if possible. I used the map posted in the first post to determine where the smoking sections were, then made my request based on that.

I should also add that I never noticed a ton of smoke, but there were people smoking in the designated areas which I appreciated.

You are welcome! Oh wow! $800.00 would be a no-brainer for me but, then again, we love the CBR so that's another factor. We have stayed at POFQ before although it was just for one night prior to our stay at the CBR. FQ was too much like home for us (we live in Louisiana) and, while we thought that it was beautiful, we will probably just stick with the CBR from now on.
I have always wanted to go to New Orleans so I think FQ will be the place for us. We thought long and hard about CBR but we are really looking forward to the peace and quiet I think. We've stayed at several resorts with our kids (AK, YC, Poly, Grand Floridian and even Dixie Landings!) so we want to be away from the hustle and bustle of the big resorts. The really funny thing is that on our trip back to California....we are stopping in New Orleans! my husband just told me! only for a day though. I wish we would have thought of CBR when the kids were young though! (22 yr old twins, 27 year old)

Do they give little creamers for the coffee in the room? I know a lot of hotels we visit have the coffee pot/pods in the rooms and now they give little creamers instead of powered milk. Does CBR give the creamers?

As of this past May, they did not provide creamers (just the powdered stuff). However, I always grab a handful of creamers from the food court and keep them in the room so I have them each morning. :)

No liquid creamer in the rooms but there are some in the food court. As CJK said, you can get several and take them with you to your room.

I know this is a great resort for families with children but since there is just my husband and I, will it be swarming with kids? don't get me wrong, I love kids but this is just a trip for the two of us.

We were there on our honeymoon 17 years ago. We loved it. All of the Moderates seem so quiet and relaxing (after years at a value anyway). I think you will enjoy it as a couple. We are now staying here with our daughter and love it for all new reasons :)

We just got home last night after an 8 day trip. We did the TP request and got nowhere close to our building request, but did get 2nd floor and not placed on the smoking section of the building which was part of my request. I requested Jamaica 4556 and in that vicinity. We were placed in Aruba 55. In my online check-in I requested Jamaica and 2nd floor, and I also called in requests of Jamaica 45 or 44, 2nd floor, and away from the smoking section side of the building.

This location was convenient to the bus stop, but quite a hike to OPR with little 4 and 6 year old legs. We did get an email and a text saying that our room was ready before we arrived, but I did stop in to the Custom House to see if there was anyway to change our location. They were kind enough to check for me, but said that the only other location available was in Barbados which I did not want to be in. Overall, it wasn't my first choice, but not a terrible location.
Thank you! I think you just gave me the final push I needed to delete my room request from TP for my October trip :)

Ok so it has come to that planning time again for our spring 2016 trip. Looking at discounts for Fall it seems CBR was not included as well as POR. Is that because they are all booked or was it never offered this year? Was hoping for Disney's normal 25% to 20% off with buy 4 day tickets and get one free deal but if Disney is limiting Discounts this may be an issue. Any one know if CBR was offered in the discounts for fall at least the first day they came out?

CBR was excluded from the Fall offering. The amount of resorts and rooms included in the Fall discount were extremely reduced as compared to previous years.

ouch!!! Bet the spring will follow suit. This is news I was not wanting to hear but kind of had a feeling this is what I WAS going to hear. Very disappointing for sure. Thanks dansdad I will plan accordingly

how many of you guys had a standard view room and requested Jamaica 45 or aruba by the bridge and got what you requested?

Also, we had requested Aruba 5555, for the Murphy bed. We got it. Convenient to bus stop and not a bad walk to Port Royale for coffee in the AM.

Be careful with Aruba close to the bridge, you'll be farther from the bus stop. Closer to bus stop is better for us, because after a long day in the parks, we are usually carrying sleeping kids.

We only book standard and our last 4 trips our requests are "2nd floor" and "Jamaica 45". We've gotten both each time. Now whether your requests are granted is 100% dependent on occupancy and how many other people requested the same. So it's impossible to judge your odds by others experiences.
