Since so many request Jamaica, we requested Martinique because its fairly close to OPR and the building color is way better than pink/purple (in my entire family's opinion-none of us are super pink/purple fans and my youngest HATES the color pink, refuses to wear it unless its pink tights to ballet class which she is required to because of the dress code-LOL). Will let you know if it works for us in 3.5wks.

That was almost my exact thinking too LOL-I had to choose before the kids knew we were going though and I could just hear my family (in my head) moaning about pink buildings:rotfl2: As it turned out we Loved Martinique! I loved my walk to OPR in the morning. We had a bus stop very close to our building. The resort looks so spread out on a map but in reality it is not bad at all!

I'm torn. The one and only time we stayed at CBR, we were in Martinique 22. It was a great location. But I kind of want to try a different area. We have a Water View booked. I know that I want to request a corner room because we've always lucked out and gotten them and I like the extra window. Makes the room feel bigger, you know? Anyway, I keep going back and forth on whether to stick with Martinique or trying out Aruba or Jamaica. My online check-in is in one week, so I'll decide by then.

This is us too! We really enjoyed Martinique. Part of me wants to try something new but there is comfort in knowing what to expect. We thought it was the best bus stop. Always empty and the kids often went straight to the back of the bus. Today the kids asked to be in the same location. So I'll need to think on it. Jamaica is my favorite for colors.

We always wing it. We request King Bed, but whatever area they put us in we will like it. This is the first time that I did request a village...Aruba...we have never stayed there in all of our visits.

Thinking of staying next May. Debating on preferred or not. We will need two rooms so it'll be about 100/night more for preferred.

I know nothing is guaranteed, but if we would request close to the main building roughly how long a walk would it be if not preferred?

My nephew loves to swim, but he hopefully be fine in any pool (although I'm sure he'd love the feature one), and the bus stops throughout make it nice.

My only issues are we will eat there at least once a day, and will get mugs so we don't have to buy beverages each day. I'd like to be somewhat close so it's easy to eat and refill the mugs (especially at night and in the morning). I know it sounds lazy but I don't want to walk 10+ minutes each way to fill a couple mugs.
We stayed in Barbados a couple of years ago in a room which I don't think could be further from OPR if it tried. :) It took 7 minutes at a snails pace. The snails pace was because it was so beautiful we took our time.:D

how many of you guys had a standard view room and requested Jamaica 45 or aruba by the bridge and got what you requested?

We did not get what we requested, but I think it had more to do with arriving on a Monday during a very busy time. When we checked in at Custom House, they did check for availability in our requested area, and did say that they do look at requests and honor them when possible. I was very pleased with the service and the willingness to check for our requested area even though we did not get it.

I always bring my favorite flavored/powdered creamer with me....heck, we've even ordered better coffee pods and had them delivered to our resort (from Walmart dot com).

Can you tell me what kind of pods you order? Or post a link? I just want to be sure I order the right kind. I can't stand their coffee. Thanks!

We were in one of the Barbados buildings that was furthest from OPR and it took us just 7 1/2 minutes too. We were behind a family with a double stroller and were walking at a snail's pace as well but I didn't mind because, as you said, it is so beautiful there.

Does anyone think a preferred room will become available in the near future? I was thinking that maybe in a few days when the 45 day mark hits that someone may be rescheduling their trip.

i requested on my online check in Jamaica and martinnique standard view sections. are those good requests? I want to be close to a bus stop and main pool and lobby without booking preferred

Being close to a bus stop and being close to a pool is arbitrary. Not saying that there is no building close to the bus stops, but with each resort having their own bus stop, you are never really far away from a bus stop. And the same with the quiet pools. You are maybe 2 minutes max from either a bus stop or pool.

I will be staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort from Sept 5th to 13th.
I am taking two single strollers with me, purchased for this trip specifically, and the connectors to make them a double. Links to both:
(The are not in use now as I have a double stroller as well)

I was planning on selling them when I returned home but my friend mentioned she sold her's before leaving Disney..
If anyone is interested in buying these please let me know. That's one flight I do not need to take them on :-)

We leave early on the morning of the 13th so we can pass them along the evnning of the 12th

Total purchase price of $258 (CAN)
- would like to get half back

T-60 days! Woohoooooo! I can do online check in today, and noticed that some of the options are actually "upgrade" options, i.e. "Water View", or a preferred village. If I request these, am i then charged for the bookable option if they give it to me or it just pixie dust? I really don't care where we are - should I just wing it and see what happens?

I wonder how long it will take the Disney website to put current photos of CBR up instead of all the old Nemo room photos... I mean, the refurb has been done for a while - surely it can't be that hard to take new photos for the website?

This is genius. Wish they had something like this when my kids were small. Gives you the flexibility to just use as a single or connect for a double. You might want to search on facebook for a Disney World September 2015 group and post your stroller there too--you might have better luck finding someone interested in purchasing it from you.

I'm thinking about signing up my daughter (who will be about 6.5) for the pirate adventure at CBR on our MNSSHP day. Anyone have any reviews/feedback from doing it? I think she'd like it and I'd like a couple hours to hit the hot tub and a hammock. :)

It is always possible. Keep looking or keep calling.

Watched the Pirate Adventure last year at CBR...the CMs did an excellent job keeping the kids occupied. The kids looked to be having fun.
