So, today is our 60 day mark! Lots of excitement with fastpass reservations and online check-in. I was wondering opinions about online check-in. We're traveling with my parents, and we would like connecting rooms. Our travel agent (my aunt) had it noted when she made our reservations. She also noted that we'd like Martinique (we are in a preferred room). When we do on-line check-in, I was thinking that it was best if we made no requests during the process. Is that the consensus?? If it's already been noted when making the reservation with Disney, it's not necessary to note it during on-line check-in?? Also, funny thing was that when I did my on-line check-in, it already had "Connecting Rooms" check marked under the options. However, when my mom did hers, it was not listed as an option at all! So....I'm thinking it must not be noted on her reservation??? Do you think we should select Martinique on the on-line check-in?? Any opinions would be appreciated!

If I were you, I would not make any requests during online check in. Your TA made your requests already so no need to do it again, it won't up your chances or anything.

Hoping to book CBR for next August! Decided to stay here post-cruise (not Disney ) because I figured we would welcome the little bit of extra space after a week in a small stateroom! Haven't stayed here since '09! Looking forward to catching up on all the happenings at CBR since then!

Does CBR have the new thermostats that have the motion sensors? and if so, does anyone have the instructions for over riding them? i know someone posted this on the CSR last year and it was a lifesaver.

I don't recall a motion sensor in the room for the thermostat.

What's the better way to make requests? Via online checkin or having it noted on your reservation?

I have been following this thread since last fall when we booked our stay at CBR and now that we have booked ADRs I am getting a bit more into the planning of each day. My family of 4 is travelling with another family of 4 and we will be at the parks for 5 days. Kids aged 8, 8, 6 & 5. We are thinking that we will benefit from heading back to CBR at least 2 of the days for a afternoon break. Head back to the parks for dinner ADRs, more rides and nighttime celebrations. Based on location alone I am assuming that this is easiest to do from EPCOT and HS.
Can anyone tell me the approximate time that it would take to ride the bus from these 2 parks back to the resort in the afternoon? Are there many stops between the parks and the resort? I understand that there can be a big difference depending on where you are staying in CBR.

Well, I paid off the balance of our vacation today! I guess we have to go now. 147 days and counting.

I have the remainder of our balance sitting there waiting to pay it off. My TA just got back from Disney so I'm giving her a few days before I get with her to pay it off. We 138 days to go!!!!! So question for you, is there anything specific we should do or check into before we officially pay it off

The longest it took us to get back from HS and Epcot was about 45 min and that included waiting for the bus at the park. Quickest was about 20 mins. There weren't any stops between the park and the resort but it took about 10 mins sometimes to get to our stop in the resort. We were either the first or last stop depending on how the bus came in.

I don't think there's anything in particular you need to do. For us, I had refrained from paying off the balance until I saw what kind of discount might become available. For example, if it was free dining, I could pay off the balance as soon as that was booked. However, if it had been a room discount, I didn't want to be waiting around for Disney to refund any amount already paid so I basically just estimated what a room discount would be worth and held back that amount. Disney can be slow to issue refunds, or so I've read on the boards. "Technically" it is also possible for Disney to change the price before it is paid off in full, though I've never experienced it or heard of anyone else having it done to them, either.

Drive time from Epcot to entrance of CBR is about 7-8 minutes.
Drive time from DHS to entrance of CBR is about 6-7 minutes.

I am completely envious! I hope to get ours paid off in July, a full month ahead of schedule It does make it all real, doesn't it?

I must admit I'm envious too. I just started really paying mine off and it is due by Aug 5th. I started doing the target gift card deal and have managed to save a little bit so far. Next year I will already be signed up for the DVA and be better prepared. I have learned so much on this board!

It will be our first trip to CBR this year and the pool looks amazing for kids! I can't wait for my 4 year old to see it.
