Hello! DH and I are thinking of booking a last minute trip for the end of May and staying at Caribbean Beach! We've never stayed at this resort before because I always found the rooms outdated looking. But now that the standard and preferred rooms are re-done they look fantastic. It reminds me a lot of Coronado Springs which was my favorite resort up until we last went in September 2014. The pool looks really great here too. If we do go it would end up being May 24-31. Is this resort typically more crowded than Coronado?

There was a baseball convention or something apparently this past week when we were there and I didn't even know it til we went to check out. The only time I noticed was when there were 2 teams waiting to do the resort air check out at the same time as we were checking out. The resort was full, but quiet.

Thanks for the reassurance! Hoping for the same. :)

Hi!

Looking forward to staying here in July! Can you tell me if all the renovated rooms have Murphy beds? Also does someone have a favorite water view room? Looking for something close to OPR and near a bus stop if possible. Thank you!

All of the rooms are pretty darn close to a bus stop. Trinidad North has great water view rooms with benches along the walkway/path to OPR. Jamaica's water view rooms are at the south end of the resort, and then you cross the footbridge over the lagoon to OPR. When I say water view, I am speaking specifically about the lagoon. I believe WDW defines water view as overlooking the pools or lake, I may be wrong, but that is how it was explained to me. However, if you sit in your room and look at the lake, there will be people walking by your room. We like to find a bench, drink some iced tea (me) and coffee (wife), and look at the lagoon. Really can't go wrong.

No, not all the renovated rooms have Murphy beds. Some do, some only have 2 queens or one king.

Hey folks! I need your help. I'm thinking of booking a trip to CBR in early December, the week of the 6th to the 10th or 11th. If I remember correctly, last year around that time some people had posted that there was a Pop Warner football competition going on at that time and the kids and a lot of dads were staying there. As I recall, people had noted that the kids and especially the Dads had kind of taken over the main pool and Bar area. This would be an issue for us since we enjoy the Bar area after the parks and like to sit and enjoy a drink or two before turning in for the night. (We have no kids). When we were there in January there was a Dance competition going on and we saw lots of the girls around, but it was never and issue. I'm just wondering if the anyone has stayed during this time and what your thoughts are. Also, wondering if the Pop Warner competition is the week that I'm planning on going. If it is I might change resorts, which would be lousy because we have really enjoyed saying here

Thanks for your thoughts.

Pop Warner week this year is Dec. 5-12. In the past, CBR has been a choice for Pop Warner but the majority of them stay at the All Star which is offered. I don't even know for sure if CBR will be an option since it was just refurbed. POR used to be an option until it had it's refurb which is when they switched to CBR. We have stayed at CBR twice when the Pop Warner kids have been there and we never noticed them. And we too like to hang at the bar and pool. The thing is, it all depends on the individual guests. IMHO, you can't say that all the Pop Warner guests behave badly.

I just realized, we have had 3 stays at All Star Sports during Pop Warner week and we had zero issues then.

Pop Warner week always starts 9 days after Thanksgiving Day. So you can always figure out when it is.

Thanks dansdad! I feel better now. We have really enjoyed staying here in the past. It's good to know that you have stayed there during that time and it wasn't an issue. We are looking forward to seeing the Refurbed rooms.

Thanks again.

Have been planning in secret for out upcoming trip but had to tell our oldest yesterday-only a few weeks of school left and she has to make arrangements for missing a bit of band camp. Showed her the pool photos of the Pirate pool and she is pretty excited now! Too bad the Pirate rooms aren't equipped to handle 5 people or I have a feeling we would be switching to there...Going to try to keep the secret for the other 2 until Magic Bands get here...

Thanks for all the FANTASTIC photos and information here!! It is much better and far more detailed and complete than anything Disney official has to offer-they still have pics of the old rooms!!

Just came back from our 10 day stay at CBR, and have to say I am in love. We stayed in Martinque and had a great experience. All cast members were great! The resort was booked and as others mentioned there were two baseball teams there. The resort didn't seem busy, maybe because it is spread out. The only negative experience we had was taking the bus to Downtown. One of the baseball teams from Toledo got on and were rude and loud. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!!!!!

Just curious....If we check in earlier in the day than when our room is ready, can we drop our luggage at the Custom House and head to the parks? Will they deliver it to the room? (We are not flying.) I don't mind tipping well if need be but I just don't want to be dragging luggage up the stairs at midnight.

Thank you so much for this tread. We are staying here the first weekend in May and are very much looking forward to it!

Yup, Bell Services will hold your bags.

Yup, just call them when you get to your room and they will bring them to you. A modest tip is customary. We usually do $2 per bag.

I did my online check-in the other day. I'm wondering, is there a spot where I can make requests to be near my parents and also to make sure we get a Murphy bed? I tried calling but the CM I spoke to said there should be a place online to make requests but all it offered me was the generic building/floor number choices. She said that if it wasn't there that the soonest I could call to request a link between mine and my parents reservation, in order for us to be near each other, is 10 days out from our trip. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Also, in my requests I checked for Aruba buildings and near transportation. Should I change to something else? We paid for a standard room. TIA!

Call back and get someone else to answer your questions. I was able to link 4 rooms 6 months out, the sooner you call the better, and they were able to do it. Just remember it is just a request, but they should be able to make a note on your reservation.

Yes, definitely call back. I called to make an additional request beyond the two allowed online. The first CM wasn't terribly friendly and told me I couldn't do it until 10 days prior. Double checked here, confirmed that is incorrect, and called back. The second CM made notes without issue, very friendly.
