Cool! Glad to hear it. I'm used to making daily walks from the Cabanas near the Dig Site to El Centro in the morning when we stay at CSR, and the longer walk is often more enjoyable. I'm getting really excited to try out CBR, and everyone on here has been extremely helpful.
I still believe that the size issue of CBR is over-exaggerated. If you take out Trinidad South, it is smaller than POR and POFQ. And having had both knees replaced, the walk to OPR from any building in CBR is not bad at all. And I have made the trek from Trinidad North to the Guest House many time to speak with the concierge, baggage claim, or to make/check in for my flights. Have never used internal shuttle unless it was raining, and have dragged my bags to the Guest House, though on wheels, and it was never a problem.

Do the outdoor movies play in October? I've only been in May and June so I didn't know if they movies only play in summer or all year long? Thanks!

Wow! I read through this entire thread.

We are staying at CBR Dec 13th-18th. At first I was a little nervous as I just switched from POR. This is a special mom/daughter girls only trip. I have four sons and one daughter and she's 14 (15 when we go) and really wants to go to Disney with just me so we are going. We have never stayed at a Disney hotel, we always camp at Fort Wilderness in our trailer so this will be a little different. The ease of getting around there and the proximity to MK has spoiled me but I have been reassured that the transportation issues will not be bad plus I will have my car with me for back up.

We have a standard room, being close to the pool isn't really a big deal to me but based on the map and other comments I think we will request Jamaica.

So my only questions are about breakfast ADRs. I am really hoping to make a few since my daughter really wants to do character dining since she won't have her teen brothers whining about them. Do the buses run early enough for them? We are looking at Park Faire, Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace and Akershus. Since two of them are at resorts what is the best way to get to those early in the morning? Should I take a bus to EPCOT and take the monorail from there? I know I have lots of time but I am a big planner which keeps me from being a big worrier.

Oh and can I be put on the list? Thanks.

Yes I've been in October and they do show movies!

For Crystal Palace and Akershus, I would take the busses as they run early enough to get to your ADR. As for the ones at the resort, we have driven since we always have a car and we have taken a taxi. But since the other two are close to MK, you could take the bus to MK and take the monorail to either one and Chef Mickey is close enough you can walk!
Have a great trip and I hope one day to do a mommy/daughter trip that sounds like so much fun!

Duh, I didn't even think of a bus to MK, I guess I should probably go to bed since I am clearly not thinking clearly. Thanks so much that makes perfect sense.

@totebagg gave some great advice. I will just add that the buses start rolling at 6:30AM for early ADRs. As a rule, if we have an early ADR at one of the parks we take the bus. If we have an early ADR at another resort, we take a taxi. With the one exception being Chef Mickeys because we can walk over there from MK.

And if you do take a taxi, you can call Bell Services the night before or about 15 minutes before you want to leave and a taxi will be waiting for you in the circular drive of your building.

How much would a taxi to the Grand Floridian be. Or would their boat be running early enough that I could just take the boat over from MK? Although if the taxi is cheap that might be nice for the convenience factor.

If memory serves around $18.

So we recently changed from POFQ to the Caribbean Beach. We will be staying from July 9 to July 20, if you could add us to the List. My DM, me, DB, DSIL and DNieces 16 and 8. Would love to meet any Dis'ers on holiday also at that time.

Just booked a quick weekend at Caribbean Beach for June 5-7. I had concert tickets for House of Blues Friday night, my friend and I didn't want to drive home after, so why not a resort, then why book ONE night when you can book 2? So now it's concert/disney weekend.
I'm so excited, I haven't stayed at Caribbean Beach in a few years! We're in a pirate room because it was that or a room with a King size bed. So, argh!

Do the TV's at CBR have plugs for HDMI to run my laptop to play DVD's for the kids? And are they easy to get at?

So we are staying at Trinidad South in a preferred pirates room. From what I understand, this is the furthest building. Would it make sense to try and catch a bus at another building? We will be there Memorial day weekend and I am not trying to wait forever for buses.

No it wouldn't. Every village has it's own bus stop. You would be doing some unnecessary walking if you caught a bus at another village's stop. The closes village is Trinidad North. The buses go from Trinidad North to Trinidad South so you would be going right back to where you just were.

I know there are Standard Pirate and Water View Pirate rooms but Preferred Pirate is a new one on me.

I'm still a bit confused about Trinidad North. :confused3
I spoke to reservations 2 days ago to put in a request for either Martinique or North..... and was told that not ALL of Martinique or Trinidad North buildings are preferred and that there are some standard rooms. So I was fine to put in a request for either section.
and.... just FYI.... when I've made other requests at other resorts (CSR and All Stars) I was specifically told what buildings were preferred and unless I paid for preferred they would not put in the request. so I guess I will find out when I get there. :confused3

Well the phone CM you talked to was half right. Martinique 24, 25 and 26 are preferred while 21, 22, and 23 are not. All of Trinidad North are preferred.

oh its a typo....late night post....no impact on the question though.

I am trying to figure out best way to manage bus situation, recognizing that I am going on a holiday weekend and staying at one of the furthest buildings.
