I'm not a coffee drinker and have never used coffee makers in hotels (or anywhere) before but have used the Keurig machines for hot chocolate. Lately I've started drinking green tea so just wondering can I use the coffee maker just for hot water and bring my own tea bags? Or would there be a coffee taste off the water?

My daughter does this at home for tea in our Keurig and doesn't notice a difference (the rest of us use it for coffee). Knowing how Keurigs work, and how the coffee is all contained in that little cup, it seems like it would be OK. However, when I make a flavored coffee in our Keurig, my husband then swears that he can taste the flavor in his next cup of regular coffee.

I think you can use it for hot water only. Just don't put the coffee packet in and run a cycle of water through. You could always run an extra water cycle through if you are concerned with coffee flavor crossing over to the water...but honestly, all I would do is clean the area where the coffee packet goes before running my hot water for tea.

But I'm a coffee drinker, so I haven't tried. I'm sure others on here have.

What is resort policy on the coffee makers? I know hot plates are a no-no and I think in room toasters are as well, but if have a little tiny four cup coffee maker which I'd prefer to the afore mentioned "tea bag" coffee maker, just don't wanna break any rules/safety guidelines.

For all I know, it may not be allowed but as long as you are in the room when it's used, don't leave it unattended, and tuck it away when you're out I can't see any issues. What's housekeeping going to do, report that they smelled coffee in the room? Not at all in the same category as a crock pot or other "cooking" appliances. Just my opinion.

Never thought about the rules regarding coffee makers. Just thought it would be ok since they provide you with a coffee maker. I never use to drink coffee until 2 years ago, and now look at the problems it is causing me! :scared:

We are due to be at CBR on the 2nd of April!!!! Can't wait to get there. This is our first trip as a family. My girls were adopted from Kazakhstan 13 years ago, and we always wanted to take them to WDW. Now another dream is coming true!!!!!

Good idea giving it a run or 2 first with just tap water I think. I know I could get hot water at the food court, we will have the refillable mugs but I like a cup first thing when I wake up in the morning. Thanks :goodvibes

In regards to the coffee makers in the room... Can we request additional "pods" for our room? We will need roughly 4-5 cups of coffee each morning. :sad2::lmao:

We are staying at the Caribbean Beach on April 4th through the week. Does anyone know if all of the rooms have been renovated?

I believe that they have now. I thought that it was posted on here somewhere that the refurb finished ahead of schedule.

Thank you! :worship: How do we go about requesting more coffee pods? :D

Call housekeeping when you first get to your room. Ask them for some extras right away and extras every time they service your room. They will bring you some right then for the next morning.

Surprise suprise! I somehow was able to get a preferred room during July 4th week when none had been previously available. So back to the resort I originally wanted but couldn't get! And I saved $50 (big woop)
