Are the rooms at CBR dark? I love to open the curtains and let the sunshine in, but since the window is next to the walkway, it seems we won't be able to do that. I've read that I can request a corner room, but we'd still have to keep the curtains closed.

This is the main reason we never pay extra $$ for a view when staying at any of the values or moderates. They all have exterior walkways and people walking by the window. To enjoy the view you have to leave the drapes open.

That said, I've never felt the rooms are dark. The lights in the room do a nice jo

Hi All !! Just booked my stay at CBR 11/3-11/8. Bf and I will be running the Wine and Dine half marathon on 11/7! So excited for the whole trip! Last time I stayed at CBR was in 1993 (I was 5!). We stayed at POP last year which wasn't bad since we didn't spend much time at the resort but will be spending some more "relaxing" time this year prior to the race. Trying to take in as much info from this thread as I can as far as which village to request and such. Thanks all for your tips and reviews!

Hi.
I will be leaving for Disney on Saturday with a group of 25 for my ds's HS baseball team doing Spring Training at WWoS.
I e-mailed my contact for the Sports Group and asked her to please put my group in the refurbished section of CBR.
She replied to me that the whole resort has been refurbished. I do not think this is correct, is it? I would like to know before
I e-mail her back and then I will contact Disney myself I guess?

Thank you.

Technically, she gave you incorrect information. All of the non-preferred and non-pirate themed rooms have been 100% completed. They have about 75% of the preferred rooms completed. I highly doubt your group will be put in the preferred rooms or in the Pirate Themed rooms as they are both a $25 per night up charge. So you are pretty much guaranteed to have a refurbished room. :thumbsup2

This is great news! Thank you.
You are correct, we didn't pay extra for preferred or Pirate although it would be funny to have the boys staying in a pirate themed room.
This makes me feel a little better.
Thanks!

Hello. Well we just returned from a 10-day stay at Caribbean Beach Resort (Feb. 14th - 24th) and I have to say, this was, by far, our BEST resort stay in the past four years. We have stayed here before, but we have also tried Coronado, POR, POFQ, and my whole family kept saying how much we LOVE the Caribbean Beach resort. For some reason, our first stay there in 2000, we were out in Jamaica 44, and, per our request, we have been placed back in that building on each of our returns. I LOVE the Jamaica section. From our front door of our room to the front door of Old Port Royale, it was exactly a 9 minute walk, and a beautiful walk at that. A stroll across Caribbean Cay (the small island at the resort) with the music playing is a great walk even after a long day at the parks. Some nights, we would get off at Old Port Royale and walk over just to enjoy the walk. The grounds were beautiful. The new rooms are amazing. Our services, from bus to maid-service, were stellar. Our maids would always have the room clean, leave towel animals (left a Sting Ray in the bathtub one day...very cool) and would regularly leave us extras of everything. The room was always spotless and they cleaned, top to bottom, all 10 days! We never waited more than ten minutes for a bus...ever...during those ten days. Coming back from the parks the service was good as well. The only thing that I would say is that they do pack the busses at night if you stay to park closing, so be ready for that. The food court is such a cool place to hang out...with good food. The store now has Caribbean Beach specific merchandise (as I sit here sipping out of my newly acquired CB coffee mug) and we got the refillable mugs and used them quite a bit. There were a couple of chilly days, so my daughter really liked the hot chocolate! My wife and daughter would hang at the pools in the afternoon and I would nap. They loved both the main pool and our quiet pool at Jamaica. We had a pool-view, first floor room, and it was never loud. In fact, you could go swimming whenever you wanted. It was great. I cannot say enough great things about this resort. In fact, it really was the highlight of our trip. While the parks have definitely seen their better days, the CB resort continues to impress.

If you have any questions, I would be glad to answer what I can.

Thanks for your great review! I'm headed down in May and you have made me very happy. I've never stayed here at CBR but couldn't beat the price. I am a loyal POR guest. One question, as an adult (57) solo I'd really like to be near (read overlooking) a quiet pool. I don't tend to use the main pool. Any building suggestions? I don't mind walking any distance to the main building. Lovely positive report!

Just wanted to chime in that I just booked my trip today :) Driving down on September 25 - checking in September 26 and staying through Saturday, October 3! It actually seems real now that I put that deposit down!

The sunlight can come thru the mini-blinds while still maintaining some privacy. The curtains are thick and room darkening for sleeping.

Ok. So ive researched this resort for few months since we booked. We've only stayed at por bc we're a family of five. Im just now realizing today how large this resort when i read question about INTERNAL buses! so my question is how much larger is cbr than por?? Im concerned about amount of walking. We aren't in preferred room, only standard. Should i worry? We r in good shape. But even a healthy person takes a beaten after a full day in the parks.
