You're welcome. Yes, the pool really is great. And I have logged quite a few hours napping in those hammocks!

Jamaica 45 and Aruba 51 will get you the closest to the bridge over to OPR and the Main Pool. But we've also been in Jamaica 43 and 44 and they weren't much further. After we had a few stays under our belt, our go to requests are Jamaica 45 and 2nd floor in that order. Now they are just requests, but we have gotten both our last 3 trips.

Sweet! I may switch even if we don't have too.

I'm looking at all the pics and it looks just as gorgeous and relaxing as POR.

Can anybody tell me if it's possible to buy cereal onsite please? Trying to decide whether to bring our own or buy when we get there.
TIA XX

The gift shop and the grab and go section had cereal during our last stay.

I asked this in a regular post but I wanted to confirm here. Will there be a location where I can do online check in for Spirit airlines and print my boarding passes? Will concierge be able to help me with this?

Just a warning for anyone out there who is flying an airline that does NOT do resort check-in ... the concierge in the Custom House would NOT do this for us. Told us that we were more than welcome to use their printer to print from our own device. Since we only had my Kindle this was not a possibility since it just doesn't have the ompfh this requires. HOWEVER, the CMs in OPR were more than willing to help us with this, unfortunately our Airline's website was down at that point :(

Clarifying ... if you have a "water/pool view" (only room left when we booked) it could be anywhere. But if you have a "preferred" (what we had last time), it's certain buildings, correct? Some preferred rooms just opened up and we ended up switching because my husband (who is not doing parks with us) wants a relaxing few days at the pool in a conveniently located room!

Correct. Water/pool view rooms are spread throughout the resort. The Preferred rooms are only in certain buildings that are closest to OPR.

Trinidad north bldg31 reopened yesterday. Nice free upgrade!

Thank you sooooo much for the update! If you have time, would you please ask a castmember when they expect the refurb to be complete. I would also love to hear what they intend to do when they refurb the pirate rooms.

I've read all the pages and looked at the pictures on the first post ... But wanted to verify with those that have just been - can I fit a full gallon of milk in the fridge? I'm getting ready to place my grocery order ... Wasn't sure if I should get a 1/2 or full ...

A full gallon will fit but you'll have to remove some of the shelves in the frige which isn't a big deal.

Good morning all! I just updated the beach bum roll call to include three more Disers. I did some moving around of the pictures on Photobucket so there are three or four pictures not showing up in the informative posts. They are of the stairs. I'll look through my pictures again and find those stair pictures so that I can get those back up. Also, I have pictures of the marshmallow roast area that I'll be adding.

We just booked a quick weekend trip for March 20 - 22. Preferred and Pirate Rooms were the only ones available with the Spring discount, so we went with Preferred. With bldg 31 now being open, is it safe to assume bldgs 32 & 33 are now undergoing refurbishment? We were in bldg 25 last June, and I'm just wondering if I need to request Martinique to hope for a refurb room OR if it's not necessary with the last 2 buildings being worked on?

Are all of the rooms facing the water their own bookable category "Water View" or whatever. We actually don't want a water view, or to be too close to the water, because of a crazy set of 3 year old twins that are a little too fearless and reckless and one who is a runner always trying to get away from us. (they can't swim and neither can I so it makes me nervous to be too close to the water)

Just wondering if I should add a non-water view room to my requests or if by booking a standard if we will most likely not be facing the water anyhow. I'm already requesting Jamaica 45 and ground floor and I know they say to keep requests to a minimum for better likelihood of getting them.

It probably wouldn't hurt if you called and asked that they make a notation that you don't want to be near the quiet pool or have a room facing the lake. Having said that, the kiddos would have a bit of a run to reach the lake. Each village has a pretty wide and long beach that they'd have to run down or across before they ever reached the lake.

Thanks for your replies ref the cereal everyone xx

You are welcome!

I"m sure this has been asked a million times, but here it goes anyways....

If you're booking a standard room, what's a good building to request? We'll have a car, so being near bus stops isn't that important. Looking for a pretty area, semi close to pool/playground/food.

Thanks, that's good to know! I've never been to this resort and on the maps it makes it look like the buildings are really close to the water.

Every village has its own pool, so you'll be close to one no matter where you are.

There are playgrounds on the Jamaica beach, the Barbados beach and on Caribbean Cay.

I think a great location for you would be Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51. Both are very close to the playground on the Jamaica beach. Both are a very short stroll across the bridge to OPR and the main pool. And both would put you very close to the playground on Caribbean Cay.

Make sure you check out the map in post #1 to see what I'm talking about.

True and FWIW, after the first day or so, we stuck to our village pool - closer and quieter, never more than a couple other people in it. We only ventured all the way back to the main pool one evening when I really wanted to use the hot tub. :)
